What the numbers mean

Fordham reports 53,599 completed applications, 25,300 offers of admission and 2,653 enrolled students for fall 2026, and gives the acceptance rate as 47%; to one decimal place it is 47.2%. Applications to the School of Professional and Continuing Studies are not included. Because only 10.5% of admitted students enrolled, Fordham admits many more students than the size of its entering class.

Fordham's Common Data Set page lists editions for 2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25, which would give the acceptance rate for earlier years and the international, early decision, early action, wait-list and transfer figures. Those files are hosted on SharePoint and could not be downloaded for checking, so none of those figures appear here. No 2025-26 edition was listed on 26 October 2026.

International students make up 7.0% of the Class of 2030. Fordham says its admission process is need-aware for first-year applicants who plan to attend on a non-immigrant visa: applicants who will fund their own study complete the Fordham Statement of Funding, and those applying for need-based aid complete the CSS Profile and must show an ability to pay at least US$50,000 a year.

Fordham publishes English minimums for applicants whose first language is not English: TOEFL iBT 4.5 or higher for scores from January 2026 (90 or higher for scores before January 2026), IELTS 7.0 or higher, Duolingo English Test 125 or higher and PTE 65 or higher. Applicants without a test result can request a waiver through the applicant portal.

Fordham's page says "starting January 2026" and does not give the 21 January date or section minimums. Other tests: Duolingo English Test 125+, PTE 65+, and TOEFL ITP Level 1 at 575+ with a Vericant interview (China only). Official scores must be sent by the testing organisation and be less than two years old. Applicants not submitting a test must complete the English Language Proficiency Test Waiver Request Form in the applicant portal; NYC-area applicants can instead take Fordham's FELT placement evaluation.
