In this course, we've been studying current events and discussing the value of being educated consumers of news.However. there is also an opinion that we should periodically limit our exposure to current events and even take breaks from the news Do you think it is beneficial to take breaks from reading or watching the news for a period of a few days or weeks? Why or why not?

Claire

Beneficial or not, it would be impossible. Today, we're exposed to the news evervwhere-on our phones, on our computers,on big TV screens in waiting rooms and in airport lounges. To take a break from the news, you would have to withdraw from all activitiesin society. which is unrealistic.

Andrew

I think that taking a break from the news could be helpful psychologically. It obviously depends on how long a break we take. Completely avoiding watching or reading the news may be too extreme, but taking a short break from the news could help us avoid news stories that may affect us negatively.

As far as I an concerned, it is beneficial to take breaks from the news periodically due to the fact that it can help us concentrate more on offline activities. To elaborate, utilizing the time we used to spend on reading news on mobile phone, we can do some outdoor activities which are beneficial to our mental and physical health. In addition, we can also accompany our family rather than focus on the mobile phone all day long, making the relationship among family members closer. For instance, we can set ourselves free from the news by doing some activities like hiking, mountain climbing, playing basketball with friends, and so on. Watching a fantastic movie and have delicious food in dinner with our family are also good choices. Still, a voice arises that taking a break from the news is impossible because it's unrealistic. However, we can keep ourselves in touch with the society by controlling the length of the breaking time. Therefore, we can not only have a good rest from the large amounts of information, but also know clearly about the important activities happening.

Title: 6 文章修订

In my opinion, taking periodic breaks from the news is indeed beneficial, as it allows us to focus more on offline activities and maintain a balanced lifestyle.

Firstly, by allocating the time we usually spend on consuming news through our mobile devices, we can engage in outdoor activities that contribute positively to our mental and physical well-being. Furthermore, spending quality time with family members instead of constantly being absorbed in our phones can foster stronger relationships and create lasting memories.

For example, we can disconnect from the news by participating in activities such as hiking, mountain climbing, or playing basketball with friends. Additionally, enjoying a captivating movie or sharing a delicious meal with family members are also excellent alternatives to constantly consuming news.

While some may argue that taking a break from the news is unrealistic and may lead to disconnection from society, I believe that carefully managing the duration of these breaks can mitigate such concerns. By doing so, we can achieve a healthy balance between staying informed about important events and allowing ourselves to recharge mentally and emotionally. (183 words)
