Doctor Diaz
We’ve been discussing the importance of hiring and retaining highly skilled employees, but even the best employees may need to periodically update or further develop their work skills. One question facing managers is how much time and money to invest in improving the work skills of their employees. Some managers argue that ongoing employee training is the most important investment a company can make. What are your thoughts on the matter?
Andrew
I don’t think that employee training is the most important investment a company can make. The company should be hiring the most skilled workers it can find in the first place. There are so many other unavoidable things that a company needs to spend money on that have to take precedence over training.
Kelly
Employees’ leaving their jobs is always a risk, but providing ongoing training and skill development is more likely to make employees want to stay rather than go, in my opinion. When employers pay for training, employees are likely to feel more valued by their employer, and this can only improve the employer-employee relationship.

In respond to Dr. Diaz's question, Kelly highlights that providing ongoing training and skill development can make employees more likely to stay rather than leave, since they can feel that they are more valued by the employers. While I agree that ongoing training and skill development can enhance the employer-employee relationship,I want to add that it can also play an important role on conveying the enterprise culture and enhance the sense of belonging to the enterprise for the employees, which is another important reason why ongoing training and skill development can make the relationship between employees and employers more stable and healthy. Nowadays, enterprise culture is well acknowledges as a powerful tool to build a stable employee-employer relationship. During the training, it is an important task for managers to convey the enterprise culture to the employees. That's why I insist that ongoing training can never by underestimated.

Well,I would subscribe to Andrew’s opinion that it is unnecessary for a company to invest so much money on training, especially when he mentioned that a company should spend money on something that take precedence over training. I firmly believe that producing high quality products is the most important factor contributing to the success of a company. Undoubtedly, training skilled employees make sense, but a lot of companies tend to have a “change of blood” which displace old workers with new workers because the older workers lack the enthusiasm for work. So, it is wasteful for a company to spend so much on the training. Also, if a company can improve its products’ quality, it can maintain its competitiveness and vitality in the economic market. Because this is a significant strategy which effectively cater to consumers’ preferences. Investing money in developing new technologies to produce products that consumers like is the indispensable way for a company to succeed. Therefore, although training employees is beneficial, I agree that a company should put the production in the first place.

In response to the discussion on employee training, I concur with Andrew's perspective that a company's primary focus should be on hiring highly skilled workers and prioritizing other essential investments over extensive training. Undeniably, the cornerstone of a successful business lies in its ability to produce high-quality products that cater to consumer preferences. While continuous employee training has its merits, it may not always be the most efficient use of resources, particularly when considering the potential for workforce turnover and diminishing enthusiasm among long-term employees.
Instead, companies should concentrate on maintaining their competitive edge and market vitality by investing in cutting-edge technologies and product development strategies. This approach ensures that businesses can adapt to evolving consumer demands and industry trends while fostering innovation. Although employee training remains a valuable aspect of workforce development, it is crucial for companies to prioritize their investments strategically, with an emphasis on enhancing overall productivity and long-term success. In my perspective, I concur with Kelly's statement that the ongoing employee training is the most important investment a company can make, as this can make employees more likely to stay in the company and can also improve the employer-employee relationship. Furthermore, beyond Kelly's opinion, I would like to emphasize that offering employee training can make the company to a great extent to have a bright future. In other words, receiving training can improve employees' both professional and social skills, which can boost their productivities while working. For instance, my uncle Daniel is currently working for a computer company. His company offers training courses, including management, business planning and so on, for free. Daniel learns how to deal with his colleagues while doing group projects. Before taking the courses, when facing conflicts in the group, he did not have the courage to say something to interfere with the struggle; however, after taking the courses, he becomes more sociable and calm when the arguments happen, which can be displayed from his performance in group and the comments toward him given by his colleagues. In this situation, the company's earnings this year have been lifted to a new height which was achieved by the increased productivity of all employees. One of the important reasons is that maintaining harmony within colleagues can make company's projects move on more efficiently without blocks. As a result, it is worth investing in training for employees because this can greatly benefit the development of the company.

In my perspective, I concur with Kelly's assertion that ongoing employee training is a crucial investment for a company, as it can increase employee retention and enhance the employer-employee relationship. Furthermore, I would like to emphasize that providing employee training can significantly contribute to a company's long-term success. In other words, training can improve employees' professional and interpersonal skills, which in turn boosts their productivity.
For instance, my uncle Daniel works for a computer company that offers free training courses in management, business planning, and other relevant topics. Apart from what Kelly has raised, I could add that employee training could improve the efficiency and increase the profit for the company. Employees with up-dated skills are able to work better and faster, bringing more profit for the company. Without employee training, employees would work inefficiently and decrease the profit.

In my opinion, prioritizing employee training should not be a top concern for business leaders. A company's resources are finite, and allocating them to employee training may result in other departments facing financial and personnel shortages. In today's rapidly evolving technological landscape, businesses must prioritize growth and innovation to remain competitive. Rather than focusing on training existing employees, it is more prudent for companies to capitalize on the abundance of highly skilled individuals available in the job market. Indeed, hiring skilled workers is a superb choice for company. Plus, there are also numbers of approaches can be used to meet company profit demand. However, given the role of company played, I am more inclined to advocating that companies should give more opportunities and time to staffs, so that they can get more skills and make work more effectiveness. Title: 6 文章修订
Andrew presents a persuasive argument against the notion that continuous employee training is a critical investment for companies. While hiring skilled workers is indeed an excellent strategy, there are numerous other approaches to fulfilling a company's profit objectives. Nonetheless, considering the role that companies play, I firmly believe that they should provide more opportunities and time for employees to acquire new skills and enhance their work effectiveness.
In my opinion, even skilled employees may struggle to keep up with rapidly evolving technological advancements. Enhancing their skills can significantly improve work efficiency and align with the company's profit goals. For example, as a college student, I must read research papers daily to stay informed about the latest methodologies and treatments in my field.
Consequently, I believe it is far more beneficial to offer staff training programs, as Kelly suggested. Such initiatives can make employees feel valued and appreciated while simultaneously contributing to the company's overall success. (158 words)
