タスク概要

読解パッセージ

Nomadic Phase Certain insects spend time in both extended periods of settlement and extended periods of travel. During a period of travel, the entire group will continually move from one place to another. This is known as a nomadic phase. A nomadic phase may begin because a group of insects has a temporary need for additional resources that cannot be found in the area near the nest. Thus, the group must travel in search of these resources. Once the need for additional resources is over the nomadic phase ends and the group settles again in one location.

3.Delivery The speaker's delivery is generally clear and fluid, with a consistent pace and only occasional pauses. However, there are some instances where the speaker could improve their pronunciation to avoid confusion. For example, the word "displacement" was not mentioned in the response, which is essential for answering the question. To improve delivery, the speaker should focus on pronouncing key terms correctly and ensuring that all necessary information is included in their response.

4.Topic Development The speaker provides a coherent and well-organized response, with clear connections between ideas and sufficient support or examples. However, the response does not directly address the concept of goal displacement as asked in the question. To improve topic development, the speaker should ensure that they fully understand the question and address it directly in their response. In this case, they should explain how the ants' behavior of constantly moving to find food for baby ants demonstrates goal displacement.

5.Language Use

Original: Nomadic phase is a continuous move of a type of insect. The nomadic phase involves the continuous movement of certain insects. (Rephrased for clarity and natural language flow) Typically, this happens because they have some temporary needs to be satisfied, and they just keep moving to find a way to satisfy their need. This typically occurs when they have temporary needs that must be met, prompting them to constantly search for resources. (Improved sentence structure and vocabulary) And once their need has been satisfied, they will settle down. Once their needs are met, they settle in one location. (Simplified sentence structure)

Revised answer (140 words):

The nomadic phase involves the continuous movement of certain insects. This typically occurs when they have temporary needs that must be met, prompting them to constantly search for resources. For example, a particular type of ant lives together in a colony. When baby ants are present in the colony, they require a significant amount of food for proper nutrition. To ensure the baby ants receive enough sustenance, the entire colony moves from one location to another in search of food. This process continues until the baby ants mature and no longer require as much nourishment. At this point, the ant community can settle in one location and establish a new underground nest. The ants' behavior demonstrates goal displacement as they temporarily shift their focus from maintaining their nest to finding food sources for the baby ants, ultimately returning to their original goal of nest maintenance once the baby ants' needs are met.

Original Answer: This passage introduces the concept of the nomadic phase, in which an entire group of a species moves in search of additional resources, and once this need is met, they settle down again. In the lecture, the professor elaborates on this concept using the example of a particular ant species. These ants live in underground nests and must gather food daily. However, once they have larvae, their nutritional needs increase, requiring them to find more food for the larvae's growth. During this period, the entire colony leaves the nest in search of food resources. When one food source is depleted, they move to another, continuing this process until the larvae mature, at which point they cease moving and establish a new nest.

Corrected Answer: This passage introduces thea concept of the nomadic phase(将“the”改为“a”,使语言更自然), in which an entire group of a species moves in search of additional resources(删除“and”,使句子结构更清晰). Once this need is met, they settle down again. In the lecture, the professor elaborates on this concept using the example of a specific ant species(将“particular”改为“specific”,词汇更丰富). These ants live in underground nests and must gather food daily. However, once they have larvae, their nutritional needs increase, necessitating them to find more food for the larvae's growth(将“requiring”改为“necessitating”,词汇更丰富). During this period, the entire colony leaves the nest in search of food resources. When one food source is depleted, they move to another, continuing this process until the larvae mature. At this point, they cease moving and establish a new nest(在句子末尾加上“at this point”,使句子更连贯).

Revised Answer (140 words): The passage introduces a concept of the nomadic phase, wherein an entire group of a species moves in search of additional resources to fulfill their needs. Once these needs are met, they settle down again. In the lecture, the professor elaborates on this concept by providing an example of a specific ant species that exhibits this behavior. These ants live in underground nests and gather food daily. However, when they have larvae, their nutritional needs increase significantly, necessitating them to find more food for the larvae's growth and development. Consequently, the entire colony leaves the nest in search of food resources. They continuously move from one location to another as food sources are depleted until the larvae mature. At this point, they cease moving and establish a new nest, signifying the end of their nomadic phase and resuming a more settled lifestyle.
