In an effort to encourage ecologically sustainable forestry practices, an international organization started issuing certifications to wood companies that meet high ecological standards by conserving resources and recycling materials. Companies that receive this certification can attract customers by advertising their products as ecocertified. Around the world, many wood companies have adopted new, ecologically friendly practices in order to receive ecocertification. However, it is unlikely that wood companies in the United States will do the same, for several reasons.First, American consumers are exposed to so much advertising that they would not value or even pay attention to the eco-certification label. Because so many mediocre products are labeled 'new" or improved,'' American consumers do not place much trust in advertising claims in general.Second, eco-certified wood will be more expensive than uncertified wood because in order to earn ecocertification, a wood company must pay to have its business examined by a certification agency. This additional cost gets passed on to consumers—American consumers tend to be strongly motivated by price, and therefore they are likely to choose cheaper uncertified wood products. Accordingly, American wood companies will prefer to keep their prices low rather than obtain ecocertification.Third, although some people claim that it always makes good business sense for American companies to keep up with the developments in the rest of the world, this argument is not convincing. Pursuing certification would make sense for American wood companies only if they marketed most of their products abroad. But that is not the case—American wood businesses sell most of their products in the United States, catering to a very large customer base that is satisfied with the merchandise.

Section Title: 6.文章修订

The reading passage presents the argument that American wood companies are unlikely to seek ecocertification due to a lack of consumer interest and financial incentives. However, the lecture casts doubt on these points by providing counterarguments that demonstrate American consumers' preferences and the potential benefits of ecocertification for American wood companies.

Firstly, the reading passage claims that American consumers would not value or pay attention to ecocertification labels due to their exposure to excessive advertising. In contrast, the lecturer asserts that Americans distinguish between company-made claims and those made by independent certification agencies. As a result, ecologically-minded Americans are likely to respond positively to wood products certified by a reputable international organization.

Secondly, the author argues that American consumers prioritize price over other factors, making them more likely to choose cheaper uncertified wood products. The lecturer disputes this point by stating that price only determines consumer decisions when there is a significant difference between competing products. When the price difference is small (e.g., less than 5%), as with certified wood, Americans often consider factors other than price. Furthermore, American consumers increasingly recognize the importance of environmental preservation and protection.

Lastly, the reading passage suggests that pursuing certification would only make sense for American wood companies if they primarily marketed their products abroad. The lecturer refutes this idea by emphasizing that US wood companies should pay attention to international developments in their industry not because of foreign consumers but due to foreign competitors. If American companies are slow in capturing environmentally-conscious consumers, foreign businesses will enter the US market with ecocertified products not offered by domestic firms.

In light of these counterarguments presented in the lecture, it becomes evident that there is a strong possibility for American wood companies to seek ecocertification and cater to an environmentally-aware consumer base in the United States. (305 words)

In addition, the lecturer doubts challenges another reason sied by the author that American customers are cited by the author: that American customers are price-sensitive and prefer lower-priced products. The lecturer demonstrates that people are only price-motivated when there is a significant difference in prices - when one product's price sensitive which indicates that they prefer products with lower price, demonstrating that people only price motivated when the differences among the prices are too large-when the prices is only 5 percent larger higher than the other one, customers would not another's, customers are less likely to be price-motivated swayed by cost alone as mentioned in the article. What's more, article. First and foremost, the author argues that American consumers are exposed to so much advertising that they would not value or even pay attention to the ecocertification label. However, the lecturer offers an opposite stand that the customer in the United States will make sure whether the product's quality is better. And they have customers agency which are favor of ecocertification products and they will buy them. In addition, the lecturer casts doubts on the lecturer's second reason that on account of the higher cost of the ecocertified wood, they will unlikely to be chosen because American consumers tend to be strongly motivated by price, demonstrating that although the price can be a bit higher than uncertified wood, according to a research, the consumer will only choose the cheap item when one price is much higher than the other. 3.Task completeness The essay does a decent job of addressing the specific requirements of the task by summarizing the points made in the lecture and explaining how they cast doubt on specific points made in the reading passage. However, there is room for improvement in terms of providing clearer explanations and better paraphrasing. Additionally, some sentences are difficult to understand due to grammatical errors.

Suggestions for improvement:

  • Improve paraphrasing skills to avoid repetition.

  • Provide clearer explanations for each point.

  • Pay attention to grammar and sentence structure.

Examples:

  1. Instead of "the customer in the United States will make sure whether the product's quality is better," consider writing "consumers in the United States are more likely to verify if a product's quality is superior before making a purchase."

  2. Instead of "Because of American people is voting for ecocertified products," consider writing "As American consumers increasingly prefer ecocertified products."

4.Essay structure and organization The essay has a clear structure with an introduction, body, and conclusion. However, it could benefit from better organization within each paragraph, focusing on one specific point and supporting details per paragraph. Clearer transitions between ideas and paragraphs would also help improve coherence.

Suggestions for improvement:

  • Focus on one main point per paragraph.

  • Use clearer transitions between ideas and paragraphs.

  • Ensure that each paragraph supports the overall argument.

Examples:

  1. Instead of combining two points in one paragraph like this: "However, the lecturer offers an opposite stand that... And they have customers agency which are favor of ecocertification products and they will buy them," separate them into two paragraphs with clear transitions like this:

"However, the lecturer offers an opposite stand that consumers in the United States are more discerning when it comes to advertising claims. They tend to trust independent certification agencies and are likely to value ecocertification labels on wood products.

Furthermore, the lecturer highlights that American consumers have a strong preference for products endorsed by reputable consumer agencies. This suggests that they would be more inclined to purchase ecocertified wood products."

  1. Use clearer transitions between paragraphs, such as "In contrast," "On the other hand," or "Additionally," to help guide the reader through your argument.

  1. Revised Essay

In the reading material, the author presents three reasons to support the idea that wood companies in the United States will not adopt new, ecologically friendly practices in order to receive ecocertification. Conversely, the lecturer in the listening material contends that American companies will still seek ecocertification and refutes the points made in the reading material.

First and foremost, the author argues that American consumers are exposed to so much advertising that they would not value or even pay attention to the ecocertification label. However, the lecturer offers an opposing perspective, stating that customers in the United States ensure better product quality by relying on independent consumer agencies. These agencies favor ecocertified products, and as a result, consumers are more likely to purchase them.

In addition, the lecturer casts doubt on the author's second reason: due to higher costs associated with ecocertified wood, it is unlikely to be chosen by price-conscious American consumers. The lecturer counters this by demonstrating that although ecocertified wood may be slightly more expensive than uncertified wood, research indicates that consumers only prioritize lower prices when there is a significant difference between competing products. If there is only a small price difference (e.g., around 5%), consumers tend to consider factors other than price when making their decision. Furthermore, Americans are increasingly willing to purchase products that contribute to environmental protection.

Lastly, the author's third reason—that pursuing certification would make sense for American wood companies only if they marketed most of their products abroad—is also challenged by the lecturer. The lecturer points out that this is not due to a lack of foreign consumers but rather a lack of foreign competition. As American consumers increasingly prefer ecocertified products, this demand will attract more foreign companies to enter the US market and offer certified products.

In summary, while the reading passage posits several reasons why US wood companies may not pursue ecocertification, the lecturer effectively refutes each of these points, ultimately arguing that American companies will still seek ecocertification due to consumer preferences and market competition. The reading passage and the listening both discusses the topic of whether wood companies in the United States of America will adopt new eco-friendly practices in order to receive eco-certification for the wood products that they produce. While the reading proclaims that these companies will not adopt these practices, the listening casts doubt on the reading's proposals. First, the professor in the listening contends that not all customers in the United States of America trat all advertisements the same way. Most Americans have a lot of confidence in its independent organizations, especially when they are approved by an international organization or committee because certain practices used in creating its products. In this case, most wood companies are already independent organizations of the United States of America; if they proceed to achieve a certificate from a global organization, this will definitely boost the customers for this wood production company. This directly refutes the reading's point, saying that American customers are exposed to so much advertising that they won't value or pay attention to the stickers and label that says this company is a eco-certified company. Secondly, the professor continues to state that studies have shown that for most customers, they do consider the prices of the two similar products, but they only decide according to price only if the price gap between the two is large. If not, many Americans also distinguish products from different ways, like if it is sustainable or not, and what materials is the product made of. This directly goes against the reading's view that eco-certified wood is expensive than regular wood, which brings the additional cost to the customers, causing more customers to choose the regular wood since American customers are strongly motivated by price. Third and lastly, the professor states that there will be foreign competition if the American companies don't adopt eco-certified measures. If the American companies do not provide these kinds of eco wood products, then foreign companies will surge into the American market of wooden products, offering eco-wood products that local companies don't provide, which will take the profit that originally belongs to the local companies, and create a negative loop of marketing. This strongly contradicts with what is said in the reading that the American companies can still offer their wood products to customers inside the United States of America even if they don't have an eco-certificate that gives them a disadvantage in selling their wood abroad.

4.Essay structure and organization The essay has a clear structure with an introduction, body paragraphs addressing each point from the lecture, and a conclusion. The organization is logical, with each paragraph focusing on a specific point and supporting details. However, transitions between ideas could be improved for better coherence.

Suggestions for improvement:

  • Improve transitions between ideas and paragraphs.

  • Ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence.

Examples:

  1. Original transition: "First, the professor in the listening contends that not all customers in the United States of America trat all advertisements the same way." Improved transition: "Firstly, the professor in the listening argues that American customers do not treat all advertisements equally."

  2. Original topic sentence: "Secondly, the professor continues to state that studies have shown that for most customers, they do consider the prices of the two similar products, but they only decide according to price only if the price gap between the two is large." Improved topic sentence: "Secondly, the professor cites studies showing that while customers consider prices when comparing similar products, they base their decisions on price only if there is a significant price difference."

The reading passage and the listening both discuss the topic of whether wood companies in the United States of America will adopt new eco-friendly practices in order to receive eco-certification for the wood products that they produce. While the reading proclaims that these companies will not adopt these practices, the listening casts doubt on the reading's proposals.

First, the professor in the listening contends that not all customers in the United States of America treat all advertisements the same way. Most Americans have a lot of confidence in independent organizations, especially when they are approved by an international organization or committee because certain practices used in creating its products. In this case, most wood companies are already independent organizations of the United States of America; if they proceed to achieve a certificate from a global organization, this will definitely boost customers for this wood production company. This directly refutes the reading's point, saying that American customers are exposed to so much advertising that they won't value or pay attention to stickers and labels indicating eco-certification.

Secondly, the professor continues to state that studies have shown that for most customers, they do consider prices when comparing similar products but make decisions based on price only if there is a significant difference between them. If not, many Americans also distinguish products through other factors such as sustainability and materials used. This directly goes against the reading's view that eco-certified wood is more expensive than regular wood, which brings additional cost to customers and causes more customers to choose regular wood since American consumers are strongly motivated by price.

Third and lastly, the professor states that there will be foreign competition if American companies don't adopt eco-certified measures. If American companies do not provide these kinds of eco-wood products, then foreign companies will surge into the American market offering eco-wood products unavailable from local companies. This would take profit away from local businesses and create a negative loop of marketing. This strongly contradicts what is said in the reading that American companies can still offer their wood products to customers inside the United States of America even if they don't have an eco-certificate, giving them a disadvantage in selling their wood abroad. The lecturer in the listening casts doubt on the points made in the reading passage, providing counterarguments to each of the perspectives presented.

First and foremost, while the reading suggests that American consumers tend to ignore eco-certification labels due to an abundance of advertising, the lecturer argues that these consumers do not treat all advertisements equally. In fact, they can distinguish eco-friendly products and place significant trust in certification agencies. As a result, they may respond positively to eco-certification labels as they value their assessments.

Additionally, although the reading claims that eco-certified products will be more expensive than others and will ultimately lose a large portion of consumers, the lecturer contends that while there may be a price difference, it is not significant enough to deter buyers. A study has shown that price is not the determining factor between product choices when there is only a minor difference between one product's price and another's. Furthermore, with increasing environmental awareness among Americans, more people are likely to purchase these eco-friendly products. Consequently, the concern raised in the reading is mitigated.

Lastly, despite the reading positing that American companies are reluctant to keep up with global developments, the lecturer rebuts this by stating that it is essential for local businesses to adapt in order to avoid foreign competition entering their market. If American companies fail to change their practices and adopt eco-certification standards, foreign companies offering cheaper and more environmentally friendly products will infiltrate the local market and appeal more to domestic consumers.

Taking these factors into account, it is evident that the lecturer strongly disagrees with the perspectives presented in the reading passage. (275 words)

The lecture and the reading passage give contradictory opinions on the topic of ecocertification, a form of accreditation conferred by on international agency in recognition of a company's eco-friendly practices. s.Firstly, the lecture counters the passage's claim that it is not necessary for American wood companies to pursue ecocertification by providing several counterarguments。 He asserts that Americans do not trust advertising claims for a product only when these claims are made by the company that sells the product. When a claim is made by an independent third party such as a wood certification company, he posits, consumers respond very positively with strong acceptance of the certified product instead of paying no attention just as the reading passage stated. Second, the lecturer also refutes the second point in the reading - that price-sensitive American consumers are likely to choose cheap wood products without certification. The professor contends that certified wood is only slightly (less than 5%) more expensive than uncertified wood, and therefore, he argues, consumers will tend to ignore the price difference and choose the eco-friendly product. Finally, receiving eco-certification is, according to the professor, an important strategy used by American wood companies to ensure that their products can compete against ecocertified wood products imported into the domestic market from foreign countries. In contrast, the reading argues that this strategy is unnecessary because American consumers are likely to be content with domestically manufactured products, even if they are not ecocertified.

The author of the reading passage delcares an assortment of reasons that American wood companies are unlikely to try hardly to get ecocertification. However, a professor provides a compelling counterpoint, contesting these claims with well-structured arguments. First of all, the professor challenges the author's opinion that consumers in the United State will not pay attention to the ecocertification label because there are too many labels existing. He holds a different perspective, underscoring that the consumers treat different certifications in different ways. They know how to clarify the quality of the label, which means the ecocertification with international reputaion will be trusted. Secondly, the professor refutes the claim that American consumers take much care of price so that the companies will not take the risk to lose their consumers. He stresses that even though the price means a lot for everyone of us, a small change will not become a dominating factor. While the price increases a little, they will still choose quality rather than giving up. At last, while the reading implies that the ecocertification may only affect foreign market and most wood companies in America do their business in the United States, the professor presents a dissenting view. He believes that the companies should pay more attention to the foreign competition. which means the companies outside the country may occupy the United States market as soon as posiible if the local companies fail to catch up with their pace for ecocertification. Therefore, the professor points out that wood companies should try to make changes in order to receive ecocertification.

The author of the reading passage presents several reasons why American wood companies are unlikely to pursue ecocertification. However, the professor in the lecture offers a compelling counterargument, contesting these claims with well-structured points.

Firstly, the professor challenges the author's assertion that American consumers will not pay attention to ecocertification labels due to an abundance of existing labels. He posits a different perspective, emphasizing that consumers differentiate between various certifications. They can discern the quality of a label, which implies that an ecocertification with an international reputation will be trusted.

Secondly, the professor refutes the claim that American consumers prioritize price so significantly that companies will avoid risking losing their customers. He stresses that although price is important for everyone, a small change will not become a determining factor. If the price increases slightly, consumers will still choose quality over cost.

Lastly, while the reading suggests that ecocertification may only impact foreign markets and most American wood companies conduct business domestically, the professor presents a dissenting view. He believes that companies should pay more attention to foreign competition as businesses from other countries may soon dominate the United States market if local companies fail to keep pace with obtaining ecocertification.

Therefore, the professor contends that wood companies should adapt and strive to achieve ecocertification. (217 words)

The reading proposed that the wood companies would not adopted to get ecocertification while the professor in the listening held the opposite opinion. The time they make consumption decision solely based on the price is when the price of one product is much higher or lower than other one. Last but not least, what the reading proposed is that the ecocertification pursuing is a waste since they only sell products in the United States and those companies do not need to catch the trend in the rest of the world. On the contrast, the professor disagreed it. If the wood company can capture consumers that are interested in the ecocertification, it will lead to more foreign companies crowding into the market in the United States, providing products that those domestic companies cannot offer.

The reading makes an assertion that the wood companies in United States will not chase certifications, citing issues such as lack of consumer-trust in advertisement, higher price of products and native marketing. The professor challenges the statements by presenting compelling counterarguments based on studies and researches. Firstly, the reading argues that the consumers don't trust in the advertisement due to their frequent exposure to a vast amount of advertising. The lecturer counters the point by emphasizing that the consumers distinguish the claims made by the companies and the certifications approved by agencies with international reputation. As a result, they will react favorably to the products with official certifications. Therefore, the wooden products with certificaitons from official institutions will be attractive for consumers. Secondly, the reading contends that the higher prices of the product will be undesirable for price-sensitive American consumers. However, the lecturer refutes the statement by highlighting that the preponderance of price makes sense only when the price gap between competing products is too big. When there is little difference between prices of competing products, the consumers prefer the ones with higher value. As a result, for the products of similar prices, customers tend to choose the environmental-friendly ones due to their extra value. Lastly, while the author argues that certifications are not necessary because there is no need to attract foreign consumers, the professor corrects that the wood companies are confronted with the competition from foreign companies. The foreign companies with certificaiton would crowd into native market and take up the consumer-shares, leading to harsh circumstance for native companies. As a result, obtaining certifications is essential for wood companies to stand out in the competition. Considering all these counterarguments, it is evident that the reason raised by the author are neithere compelling nor reliable due to their insufficiency and inaccuracy.

Both the passage and the lecture focus on if American wood companies want to receive ecocertification. The passage holds the idea that American companies won't want to get ecocertified products to make advertisements, while the lecturer believes they will by providing counterarguments. At first, the passage holds the idea that since a number of advertisements with the label of claiming how good the products are, they won't be easily convinced by the ads. However, as the lecturer agrues, Americans won't treat all ads the same way. The wooden products with the certified label, as an exception, provide much confidence to them, and in their minds, these goods are worthy trust, so they will be influenced. What's more, the passage believes that ecocertified goods will have higher prices since companies have to pay more for the certification. This will prevent American comsumers who focus on price much from purchasing them. In contrast, the lecturer points out that consumer will not affected unless the ecocertified products is much higher that that without certification. They will choose eco-friendly things if the price is reasonable. 6.文章修订

The passage and the lecture both discuss whether American wood companies will seek ecocertification. While the passage argues that they are unlikely to do so, the lecture presents several counterarguments to this view.

Initially, the passage asserts that American consumers would not value or pay attention to ecocertification labels due to their skepticism towards advertising claims in general. However, the lecture counters this by stating that Americans differentiate between companies' self-promotion and independent certification agencies' endorsements. As a result, ecocertified wood products bearing the seal of a reputable organization would likely garner trust and appeal to environmentally conscious American consumers.

Furthermore, the passage contends that ecocertified wood products will be more expensive than uncertified ones because companies must pay for certification, deterring price-sensitive American consumers from purchasing them. In contrast, the lecture argues that price differences only significantly impact consumer decisions when one product's price is substantially higher or lower than another's. When the difference is minimal, as with ecocertified wood products, consumers may consider other factors such as environmental impact. Consequently, Americans might opt for ecocertified wood if the cost difference is not substantial.

Lastly, the passage suggests that pursuing certification would only make sense for American wood companies if they primarily marketed their products abroad. However, the lecture refutes this claim by emphasizing that domestic companies should be attentive to international developments in their industry not because of foreign consumers but due to foreign competitors. If American companies are slow to capture environmentally aware customers within their own market, foreign firms offering ecocertified wood products may seize this opportunity and gain a competitive edge in the United States.

In summary, while the passage posits that American wood companies are unlikely to pursue ecocertification due to consumer skepticism towards advertising claims, higher costs associated with certification, and a focus on domestic markets rather than international ones; the lecture counters each of these points by highlighting Americans' trust in independent certification agencies, their willingness to consider factors other than price when differences are small, and the potential threat posed by foreign competitors offering ecocertified products. Section Title: 6.文章修订

The reading passage presents three reasons to support the author's view that American wood companies are unlikely to pursue ecocertification. However, the lecturer in the listening passage argues against this idea and refutes each of the author's reasons.

Firstly, the author asserts that advertising does not have a significant impact on motivating American consumers because they do not find it trustworthy. In contrast, the lecturer contends that American consumers' indifference to advertising depends on whether the certification is issued by the company itself or by an independent agency. In this case, since ecocertification is granted by an international organization with a strong reputation, it is likely to be favored by consumers.

Secondly, the lecturer challenges the author's claim that obtaining ecocertification will result in higher prices for companies and make them less competitive since American consumers are highly sensitive to price. The lecturer explains that a small difference in price between two products does not significantly affect consumers' preferences; instead, they consider other factors such as ecocertification, which could play a crucial role.

Lastly, the author's third reason - that American wood companies primarily focus on domestic business and thus do not need ecocertification to expand internationally - is also countered by the lecturer. The speaker points out that foreign consumers are not the primary concern; rather, international competitors pose a significant threat to American wood companies. If these companies fail to attract new customers interested in ecocertified products, foreign businesses may enter the domestic market and take their place. (253 words)

The reading passage state three reasons why it is unlikely that wood companies in the United States will adopt new, ecological friendly practices in order to receive ecocertification. However, the lecturer argues that some American companies will choose to have that ecocertification. Firstly, the article suggests that American consumers are uninterested with advertising, and so do the ecocertification. In contrary, the professor rebuts that some consumers do not treat all advertisment the same. Since some ecocertification were helded by the company itself, it is normal for some people to not value it. However, some other ecocertification are given by some independent organisations that have intenational reputation. So, American consumers can trust some products. In contrast to the writer's claim that ecocertification wood will be more expansive and less people will buy them, the speaker disagree that people will only choose the cheap one when there are huge differences in prices of the same product. When the difference of price is less than about five percent, many consumers will choose the wood with ecocertification, since Americans have been teaching about values of preserving the ecosystem. Lastly, although the reading passage believes that pursuing certification would make sense for American wood companies only if they marketed most of their products abroad, the lecturer argues that not keeping up with the developments in the rest of the world can cause huge problems for American companies like foreign competition. If there are consumers in America that are interested in ecocertification wood, foreign companies will crowd into America, offering the wood that domestic companies do not have.

3.Task completeness The essay does a good job of summarizing the points made in the lecture and explaining how they cast doubt on specific points made in the reading passage. However, there is room for improvement in terms of clarity and precision. The writer should focus on providing clearer explanations and using more accurate language to convey their ideas.

Suggestions for improvement:

  • Use more precise language to describe the relationship between the reading passage and the lecture.

  • Provide clearer explanations of how the lecture's points counteract those made in the reading passage.

Examples:

  1. Instead of "In contrary, the professor rebuts that some consumers do not treat all advertisment the same," consider writing "On the other hand, the lecturer contends that American consumers differentiate between various types of advertising claims."

  2. Instead of "If there are consumers in America that are interested in ecocertification wood, foreign companies will crowd into America," consider writing "If American companies fail to offer eco-certified wood products, they risk losing market share to foreign competitors who can meet this growing consumer demand."

4.Essay structure and organization The essay has a clear structure with an introduction, body paragraphs addressing each point from the lecture, and a conclusion. However, some transitions between ideas could be improved to enhance coherence and cohesion.

Suggestions for improvement:

  • Use clear transition words or phrases to connect ideas within paragraphs.

  • Ensure each paragraph focuses on one main idea with supporting details from both reading passage and lecture.

Examples:

  1. In your first body paragraph, you could use a transition like "Contrary to this belief" instead of "In contrary" to better connect your ideas.

  2. In your second body paragraph, you could start with "Challenging the writer's claim that eco-certified wood will be more expensive," to clearly indicate that you are addressing a new point from the lecture.

5. Grammar

The reading passage state three reasons why it is unlikely that wood companies in the United States will adopt new, ecological friendly practices in order to receive ecocertificationcertification(misspelling). However, the lecturer argues that some American companies will choose to have that ecocertificationcertification(misspelling).

Firstly, the article suggests that American consumers are uninterested with advertising, and so do the ecocertificationcertification(misspelling). In contrary, the professor rebuts that some consumers do not treat all advertismentadvertisement(misspelling) the same. Since some ecocertificationcertification(misspelling) were heldedhelped(misspelling) by the company itself, it is normal for some people to not value it. However, some other ecocertificationcertification(misspelling) are given by some independent organisationsorganizations(misspelling) that have intenationalinternational(misspelling) reputation. So, American consumers can trust some products.

In contrast to the writer's claim that ecocertificationcertification(misspelling) wood will be more expansive and lessfewer(fewer with countable nouns (less)) people will buy them, the speaker disagreedisagrees(punctuation + singular noun + plural verb) that people will only choose the cheap one when there are huge differences in prices of the same product. When the difference of price is less than about five percent, many consumers will choose the wood with ecocertificationcertification(misspelling), since Americans have been teaching about values of preserving the ecosystem.

Lastly, although the reading passage believes that pursuing certification would make sense for American wood companies only if they marketed most of their products abroad, the lecturer argues that not keeping up with the developments in the rest of the world can cause huge problems for American companies like foreign competition. If there are consumers in America that are interested in ecocertificationcertification(misspelling) wood, foreign companies will crowd into America, offering the wood that domestic companies do not have.

Section Title: 6. Revised Essay

The reading passage presents three reasons why it is improbable that wood companies in the United States will adopt ecologically friendly practices to obtain ecocertification. However, the lecturer contends that some American companies will indeed pursue this certification.

Firstly, the article posits that American consumers are generally disinterested in advertising, including ecocertification. In contrast, the professor asserts that consumers do not treat all advertisements equally. While some ecocertifications are issued by the companies themselves and may not be highly valued, others are granted by independent organizations with international reputations for trustworthiness. Consequently, American consumers can have confidence in certain certified products.

Contrary to the writer's claim that ecocertified wood will be more expensive and therefore less appealing to buyers, the speaker disputes that consumers will only choose cheaper options when there is a significant price difference between products. When the price disparity is relatively small (less than approximately five percent), many consumers will opt for ecocertified wood, as Americans increasingly recognize the importance of preserving ecosystems.

Lastly, while the reading passage suggests that pursuing certification would only make sense for American wood companies if they primarily marketed their products abroad, the lecturer argues that failing to keep up with global developments could lead to significant problems for these businesses, such as foreign competition. If there is a domestic demand for ecocertified wood products, foreign companies may enter the American market and offer these items which local businesses do not provide. (245 words)

The reading and the lecture discuss whether eco certification to the American wood companies is effective or not. The author of the reading provides three theories that eco-certification is irrelevant to the U.S. wood companies. The lecturer disputes the arguments made in the article. His stance is that these companies will eventually seek eco certification for their wood products. According to the reading, American consumers distrust the effectiveness of such eco certification products. The article mentions that the fact that American consumers are exposed to excessive advertising, making the claims made in advertising less significant. This specific argument is challenged by the lecturer. He claims that consumers in the United States can distinguish between advertising claims companies made about their own products and claims made by independent certification agencies. In this case, the ecological minded Americans will trust and pay attention to products labeled with eco certification. Secondly, the author suggests that the cost will be increased for wood companies since extra spending will be incurred in order to earn eco certification. Eventually, the additional cost will be passed on to consumers. In the article, it is said that American consumers being price sensitive will likely skip certified wood products. The lecturer, however, asserts that such case only happens when the price for the only competing product is a lot higher or lower, but in this case, the price difference is small, which will not scare consumers away since doing so can help protect the environment. Finally, the author posits that pursuing certification would make sense for American wood companies only if they marketed most of their products abroad. The author contends that since American wood companies target market is only in the United States and local consumers are satisfied with the product, selling eco certified product is unnecessary. In contrast, the lecturer's stance is that foreign companies will soon take over US market if the local companies do not act quick to pass eco certification. The author contends that wood business is a competitive industry and foreign companies see the potential of US market.

The writer has effectively summarized the points made in the lecture and explained how they cast doubt on specific points made in the reading passage. However, there is room for improvement in terms of providing more detailed explanations and examples to support the lecturer's arguments.

Suggestions for improvement:

  • Expand on each point made by the lecturer, providing more context and evidence to strengthen your argument.

  • Make sure to clearly connect each point made by the lecturer to a specific point from the reading passage.

Examples:

  1. Instead of simply stating that "the price difference is small," provide an example or statistic that illustrates this point, such as "the price difference between eco-certified and uncertified wood products is often less than 5%, which is not significant enough to deter environmentally conscious consumers."

  2. When discussing foreign competition, mention specific countries or companies that are already offering eco-certified wood products in order to emphasize the urgency for American companies to adapt.

4.Essay structure and organization The essay has a clear structure with an introduction, body, and conclusion. • Make sure each paragraph flows logically from one idea to another.

Examples:

  1. Start your second body paragraph with a transition like "Furthermore" or "In addition" to signal that you are moving on to another point.

  2. When discussing foreign competition in your last body paragraph, use a phrase like "As a result" or "Consequently" to show the connection between American companies not seeking eco-certification and the potential for foreign competitors to enter the market.

6.Revised Essay

The reading passage and the lecture discuss the potential effectiveness of eco-certification for American wood companies. The author of the reading presents three arguments suggesting that eco-certification is not relevant for these companies. However, the lecturer disputes these claims, asserting that American wood companies will eventually seek eco-certification for their products.

Contrary to the reading passage's assertion that American consumers are distrustful of eco-certified products due to excessive advertising, the lecturer argues that consumers in the United States can discern between self-promotional advertising claims and those made by independent certification agencies. Consequently, environmentally conscious Americans are likely to trust and be drawn to products bearing an eco-certification label from a reputable organization.

Furthermore, while the author contends that increased costs associated with obtaining eco-certification will deter price-sensitive American consumers from purchasing certified wood products, the lecturer refutes this claim. He posits that price alone determines consumer decisions only when there is a significant difference between competing products. In this case, as the price disparity between certified and uncertified wood is often less than 5%, it is unlikely to dissuade environmentally aware consumers from choosing eco-certified options.

Lastly, the reading passage suggests that pursuing certification would be beneficial for American wood companies only if they primarily marketed their products internationally. The author argues that since these companies cater predominantly to a domestic market satisfied with their current offerings, obtaining eco-certification is unnecessary. In contrast, the lecturer emphasizes the importance of keeping pace with international developments in the wood industry. He asserts that if American companies do not quickly adopt eco-certification standards, foreign competitors offering certified wood products will soon infiltrate and dominate the US market.

By addressing each point raised in the reading passage and providing counterarguments supported by evidence and examples, this revised essay demonstrates strong coherence and cohesion while utilizing advanced vocabulary and proper grammar. The natural flow of statements, smooth transitions between ideas, and clear connections between the reading passage and lecture points contribute to a well-structured and persuasive essay. The passage states out that the wood company would not attract consumer by adopting new ecologically friendly practices for the ecocertification. To prove his view, the author lists three pieces of evidence. However, the professor in the lecture contradicts the point of passage by standing at an opposite position to view these three pieces of evidence. First and foremost, the passage mentions that the consumers in US would not pay attention to the ecocertification since they have already seen tremendous advertisement. Nevertheless, the professor reputes this point by indicating that consumers in America have the capability to distinguish those advertisements. They regard the ecologically friendly advertisements from independent international agency with good reputation more favorably. This is because those United States consumer consider those products more trust-worthy. Additionally, the passage suggests that the consumers would not prefer the more expensive product which has ecocertification. By contrast, the professor refutes this opinion by adjusting that the little difference in price could not be taken as a factor into consideration when US consumers are making choices. Furthermore, when the price difference are under five percent, factors other than price could be considered like protecting the environment. In conclusion, pursuing certification would not cost corporation a lot and consumer would rather consider the environmental factor into account but not the little change of price. Last but not least, the author makes a claim that the ecocertified wood could not make good business sense for American companies to keep up with the developments in the rest of the world. On the contrary, the professor rejects this argument by suggesting that most American wood corporations could pay much attention on the international market due to the international competition. If the American companies slowly capture this chance provided by ecocertified wood product, substantial foreign corporations would crowd into this American market since the domestic market does not have this ecologically certified wood. Therefore, the ecocertification of wood is quite essential and it would be critical for American companies make good business sense. Conclusively, the ecocertification of wood is still pretty essential for corporations to attract more consumers and become more competitive in international market.

  1. Revised Essay

The passage asserts that wood companies in the United States are unlikely to adopt ecologically friendly practices for ecocertification, citing three reasons to support this claim. However, the professor in the lecture disputes these points, providing alternative perspectives on each of the three arguments.

Firstly, the passage contends that American consumers would not pay attention to ecocertification due to an oversaturation of advertising. In contrast, the professor argues that consumers in America can discern between different types of advertisements and place greater trust in ecologically friendly claims made by independent international agencies with reputable standing. As a result, American consumers may view ecocertified products more favorably.

Secondly, the passage suggests that price-conscious consumers would not prefer more expensive ecocertified products. The professor refutes this notion by stating that a small price difference is not a significant factor for US consumers when making purchasing decisions. When the price disparity is less than five percent, factors other than price—such as environmental protection—may be taken into account. Consequently, pursuing certification may not be overly costly for companies, and consumers could prioritize environmental considerations over minor price differences.

Lastly, the author claims that ecocertified wood does not make good business sense for American companies striving to keep up with global developments. Contrarily, the professor posits that American wood corporations should pay close attention to international markets due to competition from foreign businesses. If American companies are slow to capitalize on opportunities presented by ecocertified wood products, foreign corporations may enter and dominate this market niche within the United States where domestic firms do not offer ecologically certified wood options. Thus, obtaining ecocertification is essential for American companies seeking competitive advantage in both domestic and international markets.

In summary, despite arguments presented in the passage against pursuing ecocertification for wood products in America, the lecture provides compelling counterpoints highlighting its importance for attracting environmentally conscious consumers and maintaining competitiveness in the face of international rivals. (323 words)

The passage states out that the wood company would not attract consumer by adopting new asserts that wood companies in the United States are unlikely to adopt ecologically friendly practices for the ecocertification. To prove his view, the author lists ecocertification, citing three pieces reasons to support this claim (changed "states out" to "asserts" for clarity and conciseness). However, the professor in the lecture disputes these points, providing alternative perspectives on each of evidence. However, the professor in the lecture contradicts the point of the three arguments (rephrased for clarity).

Firstly, the passage by standing at an opposite position to view these three pieces of evidence. ¶ First and foremost, the passage mentions that the consumers in US contends that American consumers would not pay attention to the ecocertification since they have already seen tremendous advertisement. Nevertheless, due to an oversaturation of advertising (rephrased for clarity). In contrast, the professor reputes this point by indicating argues that consumers in America have the capability to distinguish those advertisements. They regard the can discern between different types of advertisements and place greater trust in ecologically friendly advertisements from claims made by independent international agency agencies with good reputation reputable standing (rephrased for clarity and readability). As a result, American consumers may view ecocertified products more favorably. This is because those United States consumer consider those products more trust-worthy.

Additionally, Secondly, the passage suggests that the price-conscious consumers would not prefer the more expensive product which has ecocertification. By contrast, the ecocertified products. The professor refutes this opinion notion by adjusting that the little difference in price could not be taken as stating that a factor into consideration when US consumers are making choices. Furthermore, when the small price difference are under is not a significant factor for US consumers when making purchasing decisions (rephrased for clarity). When the price disparity is less than five percent, percent, factors other than price could price—such as environmental protection—may be considered like protecting the environment. In conclusion, taken into account (clarified meaning). Consequently, pursuing certification would not cost corporation a lot and consumer would rather consider the may not be overly costly for companies, and consumers could prioritize environmental factor into account but not the little change of price. considerations over minor price differences (rephrased for readability).

Last but not least, Lastly, the author makes a claim that the claims that ecocertified wood could does not make good business sense for American companies striving to keep up with the developments in the rest of the world. On the contrary, global developments. Contrarily, the professor rejects this argument by suggesting that most posits that American wood corporations could should pay much close attention to international markets due to competition from foreign businesses (rephrased for clarity). If American companies are slow to capitalize on the international market due to the international competition. If the American companies slowly capture this chance provided opportunities presented by ecocertified wood product, substantial products, foreign corporations would crowd into may enter and dominate this American market since the niche within the United States where domestic market does not have this firms do not offer ecologically certified wood. Therefore, the wood options (rephrased for readability). Thus, obtaining ecocertification is essential for American companies seeking competitive advantage in both domestic and international markets (rephrased for clarity).

In summary, despite arguments presented in the passage against pursuing ecocertification for wood products in America, the lecture provides compelling counterpoints highlighting its importance for attracting environmentally conscious consumers and maintaining competitiveness in the face of wood is quite essential and it would be critical for American companies make good business sense. ¶ Conclusively, the ecocertification of wood is still pretty essential for corporations to attract more consumers and become more competitive in international market.rivals (rephrased for conciseness and clarity).

The lecture and the reading passage present conflicting views on the topic of ecocertification, an accreditation awarded by an international agency in recognition of a company's eco-friendly practices.

Firstly, the lecture challenges the passage's assertion that American wood companies do not need to pursue ecocertification by providing several counterarguments. The speaker contends that Americans are skeptical of advertising claims for a product only when these claims are made by the company selling the product. However, when a claim is made by an independent third party such as a wood certification company, consumers respond positively with strong acceptance of the certified product, contrary to what the reading passage suggests.

Additionally, the author argues that ecocertified products will be more expensive and American consumers are reluctant to buy costly items. The speaker refutes this notion, citing studies of consumer behavior which show that price alone determines consumers' decisions only when there is a significant difference between two competing products. In reality, the price difference between certified and uncertified wood is minimal, less than five percent, leading environmentally conscious Americans to base their choices on factors other than price.

Lastly, the reading material proposes that ecocertification is only relevant in foreign markets while American companies primarily focus on domestic markets. In contrast, the professor disputes this idea, highlighting that domestic companies risk being outpaced by foreign competitors who can capture many American consumers by offering ecocertified wood unavailable from American companies. Consequently, American businesses will undoubtedly pay closer attention to international developments in the wood industry. (256 words)

Section Title: 6.文章修订

The lecture and the reading both discuss ecocertification for wood companies, but the professor in the lecture challenges the reading's assertion that American companies will not pursue eco-certification. The professor presents several counterarguments to support his stance.

Firstly, the professor disputes the reading's claim that American consumers do not value eco-certification labels. He argues that Americans differentiate between advertising claims made by companies themselves and those made by independent certification agencies. As a result, ecologically-minded Americans are likely to respond positively to wood products certified by a reputable, independent organization.

Furthermore, the professor contests the reading's notion that American consumers prioritize price above all else when making purchasing decisions. Contrary to the reading's argument, he states that although Americans tend to choose cheaper options, this only occurs when there is a significant price difference between two products. If the price difference is small, as with certified wood products, Americans often consider factors other than price. Moreover, he highlights that Americans are becoming increasingly aware of the importance of environmental preservation and protection.

Lastly, while the reading suggests that American wood businesses do not emphasize certification because they primarily operate within their own country, the professor believes that these businesses should still seek certification to remain competitive against foreign companies. He warns that if American companies fail to capture eco-conscious consumers domestically, foreign competitors offering ecocertified wood products will soon enter and potentially dominate the American market. The reading passage and the lecture present conflicting views on the adoption of ecocertification by wood companies in the United States. The author argues that American companies are unlikely to pursue ecocertification, while the speaker refutes this notion with several counterarguments.

Firstly, the author contends that American consumers do not value or pay attention to eco-certification labels due to their skepticism towards advertising claims. However, the speaker counters this by stating that Americans differentiate between company-made claims and those made by independent certification agencies. As a result, ecologically-conscious Americans are likely to respond positively to wood products certified by a reputable, independent organization.

Secondly, the author asserts that eco-certified wood will be more expensive than uncertified wood, which would deter price-sensitive American consumers. The speaker challenges this argument by pointing out that price is not always the sole determinant of consumer choices when the difference between two products is small (e.g., less than 5%). In such cases, Americans often consider factors other than price and are becoming increasingly aware of environmental preservation and protection.

Lastly, the author suggests that pursuing certification would only make sense for American wood companies if they primarily marketed their products abroad. Contrarily, the speaker emphasizes that US wood companies should be attentive to international developments in their industry due to foreign competition rather than foreign consumers. If American companies are slow in capturing eco-conscious customers domestically, foreign competitors offering ecocertified wood products will quickly enter and potentially dominate the US market. The reading material and the listening material hold contrasting opinions regarding the "ecocertified", passage and the lecture present conflicting views on the adoption of ecocertification (Changed "ecocertified" to "ecocertification" for clarity and consistency) by wood companies in the United States.

Secondly, the author asserts that eco-certified wood will be more expensive than uncertified wood, which is a symbol that can show that the companies' wood meet high ecological standards. would deter price-sensitive American consumers. The author claims that the United States' companies probably will not do the same, while the speaker opposes them respectively. ¶ First, the author preposes that speaker challenges this label argument by pointing out that price is not valuable always the sole determinant of consumer choices when the difference between two products is small (e.g., less than 5%). In such cases, Americans often consider factors other than price and are becoming increasingly aware of environmental preservation and protection.

Lastly, the author suggests that pursuing certification would only make sense for American wood companies if they primarily marketed their products abroad. Contrarily (Changed "contrary" to "contrarily" for grammatical correctness), the speaker emphasizes that US wood companies should be attentive to international developments in the US. However, the speaker has a different opinion. According to him, the research shows that the American treat this label same as other countries' people. Furthermore, a large number of American is favor for the ecological certificated. ¶ Moreover, while the author claims that the costs of their industry due to foreign competition rather than foreign consumers. If American companies are slow in capturing eco-conscious customers domestically, foreign competitors offering ecocertified wood are much higher than uncertified wood, the speaker undermines this opinion by arguing that if the price of a competing product are not much higher or lower than the other one, it means that 5 percent, the factor that consumers make a choice is not expense constantly. Most of the consumer products will choose the superior one. ¶ Finally, contrary to author's opinion that quickly enter and potentially dominate the US only sell the ecocertified wood abroad, the speaker suggests that there is foringe competition. Therefore, if the companies in the US slow down to capture customers, the foregine will soon crowed into the American market.

The reading passage argues that the USA wood companies would unlike to receive ecocertification based on several points. However, the lecture casts doubt on these claims by presenting counterarguments related to possibilities for American companies to get this certificate. First, the reading passage posits that the USA consumers are always exposed to many advertisements for different products, which are labeled as new or improved. Consequently, people would not willing to pay attention to the eco-certification label and believe it. On the contrary, the lecture disputes that American consumers do not treat all advertisements same. If an independent company have gained eco-certification,they prefer to notice it and be more confident to buy its products. Second, the author claims that the USA prople would not buy a relatively expensive item, which is inevitable for the addtional examination fee of eco-certification products. Nevertheless, the professor contends that USA people will only pay attention to price when the price of one company is lower between two competing companies. They will more likely to consider other reasons beneath other situations. Third, the reading passage suggests that USA companies almost sell their products in local market, so it is unnecessary for them to pursue certification. Nonetheless, the lecture points out that foreign competition will force those companies to get eco-certification, or the foreign one will trust into American market.

The reading passage argues that US wood companies are unlikely to pursue ecocertification due to several reasons. However, the lecture challenges these claims by presenting counterarguments that highlight the potential for American companies to obtain this certification.

Firstly, the reading passage asserts that US consumers are constantly exposed to numerous advertisements for various products labeled as new or improved, leading them to disregard the eco-certification label. In contrast, the lecture contends that American consumers differentiate between advertising claims made by companies and those made by independent certification agencies. As a result, they are more likely to trust and purchase products with eco-certification from a reputable independent organization.

Secondly, the author claims that US consumers would be deterred by the higher cost of eco-certified products due to additional examination fees. However, the professor argues that price is only a determining factor when there is a significant difference between two competing products. In cases where price differences are minimal, such as with certified wood, Americans often consider factors other than price and are becoming increasingly aware of environmental preservation and protection.

Lastly, the reading passage suggests that since US companies primarily sell their products domestically, pursuing certification is unnecessary. Nevertheless, the lecture points out that foreign competition may compel these companies to obtain eco-certification; otherwise, international competitors will enter the American market with their certified products and potentially dominate it. The lecture and the reading passage give contradictory opinions on the topic of ecocertification, a form of accreditation conferred by on international agency in recognition of a company's eco-friendly practices. First, in the passage explains that it is not necessary for American wood companies to pursue ecocertification while the lecture provides several counterarguments to this view. He asserts that Americans do not trust advertising claims for a product only when these claims are made by the company that sells the product. According to the reading, however, this strategy is unnecessary because American consumers are likely to be content with domestically manufactured products, even if they are not ecocertified.
