Professor
We've been discussing government budgets and the difficult decisions governments mustmake regarding the use of public funds. Some services are clearly essential and must be paid for any goverment. But what public funding about the art? Do you believe that governments should provide financial support to artists-for example, painters, sculptors, musicians, or filmmakers? Why or why not?
Claire
I enjoy art as much as anyone does, but public funds come from taxes, and I don't thinktaxpayers' hard-earned money should be spent on impractical or inessential items andservices. Artists should support themselves by selling their work to private individuals and companies. If they can't find enough buyers, then maybe they should change careers.
Paul
Personally think art actually is essential. Lots of public spaces in my hometown just wouldn't be the same without artwork. From statues in public parks to murals painted on the .walls of government buildings, my hometown really benefits from funding the artists who created these works. The public spaces are simply more enjoyable for visitors because of the artwork.

While I can see Paul's point that government should provide financial support to artisits because art is vital in our daily life, I agree with Claire's perspective it is well-known that the authority should not provide financial support to artists. As mentioned by Claire, allocating taxerpayer's money to impractical fields is more important to providing financial support to artists. When spending money in fields, such as agriculture, real estate and economic, which are concerned with peoples's personal and professional life, people could get benefit from it; however, artworks only target a few people, who could appareciate them. Apart from what Claire has raised, I add that the authority should allocate taxpayer's money to increasing the salary of siginificant careers. Allocating money to increasing the salaries of policemen, teachers and doctors, who make contribution to the achievement of society, and without whom society will in a mess, could make all citizens become beneficiaries; on the contrary, the function of artworks are only limited to entertainment. Therefore, the government, without doubt, should not provide financial support to artists.

Title: 6 文章修订
While I can appreciate Paul's argument that governments should provide financial support to artists due to the essential role art plays in our daily lives, I concur with Claire's perspective that public funds should not be allocated for this purpose. As Claire points out, it is crucial for governments to prioritize the allocation of taxpayers' money towards more practical and indispensable sectors, such as agriculture, real estate, and economics, which have a direct impact on people's personal and professional lives. In contrast, artworks tend to cater to a niche audience who can truly appreciate them.
In addition to Claire's argument, I propose that governments should focus on using taxpayer funds to increase the salaries of professionals in vital careers. By allocating resources towards boosting the remuneration of policemen, teachers, and doctors – who make significant contributions to societal progress and stability – all citizens stand to benefit. Conversely, the function of artworks is primarily limited to entertainment and aesthetic value. Consequently, it is evident that governments should not provide financial support to artists.
