Professor
Today, we’re going to discuss the ways in which companies can impact society. In your opinion, what is the best way for a company to have a positive impact on society?
Sarah
I believe that companies should focus on their own operations. While charitable giving can be beneficial, it is a temporary fix that doesn’t address the root causes of serious social and environmental problems. By doing business in more responsible ways, companies can have a more meaningful and lasting impact on society. Not only that, but if they attract positive attention from consumers and increase their profits because of their actions they will inspire other companies to do the same. That’s the only way we can really fix society.
John
I disagree with Sarah. While those are very good points, I think that companies should focus on charitable giving and philanthropy. Charitable giving can provide immediate relief to those in need and contribute to the overall well-being of society right away. It could take years or decades for business changes to have a positive impact on society, and most people just can’t wait that long. For instance, donating money to a school can help students learn more effectively almost immediately.

In my opinion, while both Sarah's emphasis on responsible operations and John's focus on philanthropy hold merit, the most significant way for organizations to positively impact society is through the development of cutting-edge technology.
Firstly, in rapidly evolving fields such as artificial intelligence, companies should allocate a larger portion of their research and development budget towards advanced technology. For instance, OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT, has significantly increased societal efficiency by leveraging their state-of-the-art large language model. By utilizing ChatGPT provided by OpenAI, individuals are freed from repetitive tasks and can delve into more specialized areas such as painting or photography. These fields require unique skills and expertise that are highly valued in the industry. Without innovations like ChatGPT, employees would need to spend considerable time on mundane tasks. I’m inclined to agree with Paul’s perspective. I believe that the ordinary people’s real feedback will be more attractive than celebrities. This is due to the ordinary individuals always indicates that they have consumed and actually used this product, so their feedback seems like more reliable. For instance, I usually ask my friends for the recommadtion of food, not only for they know my taste but also they must have tried it before. Potentially I trust them and think their recommendation is reliable. Although Claire argues that celebrities’ advertisement will be more effective, I still believe the recommodation by ordinary people will be more easily to accept. Such as in the social media, there are many ordinary look people become influencers, people will trust them and buy the product they recommond. But for the celebrities, eveybody knows they are paid to make this advertisement. In conclusion, ordinary people advertisment is more effictivly.

I concur with Paul's viewpoint that utilizing ordinary people in advertising campaigns can be more effective than relying on celebrities. The authenticity of real-life experiences and feedback from everyday individuals resonates with potential consumers, as it implies that the product has been genuinely tried and tested. For example, I often seek recommendations for food from my friends, not only because they understand my preferences but also because they have personally experienced the product. Consequently, I find their suggestions to be trustworthy and reliable.
While Claire contends that celebrity endorsements capture the audience's attention more effectively, I maintain that recommendations from ordinary people are easier to accept and relate to. In today's social media landscape, numerous everyday individuals have become influencers, gaining the trust of their followers who are more likely to purchase products they endorse. Conversely, it is common knowledge that celebrities are often paid to promote products, which may cast doubt on the sincerity of their endorsements.
In essence, advertisements featuring ordinary people can prove to be more impactful due to their relatability and perceived authenticity compared to celebrity-driven campaigns. (184 words)

In my opinion, I would definitely concur with Andrew's assertion that it is more beneficial for people to shop at superstores rather than at small local stores. Undeniably, superstores are large enough to provide a variety of products for consumers to choose, arranging from brands to prices. As a result, they can eventually get access to the most preferrable products which are both suitable and valuable for their money. What' more, I would emphasize that when shopping in superstores, we can buy all the necessities at one place. Not only is it convenient for people to purchase all they want, but also it can help us save our precious time. For example, I' m overwhelmed with heavy workload, only having spare time on weekends to relax myself and buy something I really need. If I choose the superstore, I can find out all what I need at one market in a short period rather than looking for various small specialized stores, which will take me much more time.

In my opinion, there are several disadvantages associated with being an early adopter. First and foremost, the technology may not be fully developed, leading to potential difficulties in daily usage. For instance, a newly released application might malfunction, resulting in unsaved work and wasted time attempting to recover lost data. Furthermore, early adopters often face higher costs compared to those who wait for the technology to become more established. This financial disparity can create a sense of inequality among users. Additionally, newly introduced products may carry unforeseen risks due to their rapid introduction into the market. Therefore, while there may be some benefits to being an early adopter, it is essential to weigh these against the potential drawbacks before making a decision. (126 words)

Besides, we are very busy. So my parents will go to the large store rather than the small store. In this way, they can buy all the things very quickly, and they won't forget to buy something or need to go to the another store to buy the goods they need. They will save lots of time which they will use to do some things they like, like watching movies and so on. Hence, I argue that it's more benefit for people to shop at superstores.

Section Title: 6 Article Revision
In my opinion, Kelly raises a valid point regarding the benefits of shopping at small local stores for consumers, as they often provide superior services compared to large stores. However, I believe that not all customers prioritize the level of service provided by a store. Many prefer the convenience of purchasing all their items in one place. Large stores typically offer a diverse range of products that cater to various needs. For instance, my family usually has an extensive list of items to purchase every weekend, and due to our busy schedules, my parents opt for large stores over smaller ones. This approach allows them to acquire everything they need quickly without having to visit multiple shops or risk forgetting any essential items. Consequently, they save time which can be spent on leisure activities such as watching movies. Therefore, I contend that shopping at superstores is more advantageous for people in certain situations. Section Title: The Role of Early Adopters in Technology Advancements
In my opinion, being an early adopter has its merits, as Claire pointed out. While it is true that some new technology products may initially be expensive, as Andrew mentioned, this is not always the case. Companies may offer discounts to early adopters in exchange for valuable feedback and insights on their products.
Furthermore, embracing new technology can lead to groundbreaking discoveries and innovations. By using cutting-edge algorithms, search engines, and data analysis tools, we can expand our understanding of the world and unlock new potential. For instance, faster internet speeds offered by a new product could enhance development in various sectors and boost overall work efficiency.
Moreover, early adopters play a crucial role in shaping the future of technology. Their feedback helps companies refine their products and make necessary improvements. This collaborative process between consumers and developers ultimately benefits society as a whole by driving technological advancements forward.
In addition to these advantages, it is essential to acknowledge the potential risks associated with being an early adopter. New technologies may have unforeseen issues or vulnerabilities that could pose challenges for users. However, these challenges can also serve as learning opportunities for both consumers and developers to improve upon existing solutions.
Taking everything into account, I believe that the benefits of being an early adopter outweigh the drawbacks. By actively engaging with new technology products and providing valuable feedback to developers, early adopters contribute significantly to technological progress and innovation. (250 words)

From my perspective, Kelly is right when she says that shopping at small local stores benefits consumers in many ways, as small stores can give people better service. On the contrary, I deem that not everyone goes to stores for good service, they prefer to buy all the products they need at one time. I am of the opinion that the superstore is more benefit to people, since it can help people to buy plenty of goods and satisfied their demand. For example, last Friday I found that I don't have any basic foods and daily products at home. I need to buy tons of things very soon cause I don't have much time to go to waste. I went to the large superstore near my home and I sudenly finish my list. This shopping was very conveniently and I can had more rest time to do something I like. Hence, I argue that shopping in superstore is benefit to people.

In response to the professor's question, I agree with Kelly that small local stores can provide consumers with better service. However, I believe that many people prioritize convenience and variety over personalized service when shopping. In my opinion, superstores offer greater benefits to consumers as they cater to a wide range of needs and preferences. For instance, last Friday, I realized that I was running low on essential groceries and household items. With limited time on my hands, I visited a nearby superstore and quickly found everything on my list. This shopping experience was not only efficient but also allowed me to save time for other activities I enjoy. Therefore, I contend that shopping at superstores is more advantageous for consumers. While I can see Tom's idea that Job-sharing could increse costs of training and management and lead to lower efficiency, I agree with Karen that job-sharing can improve work-life balance and job satisfaction. As mentioned by Karen, people would get more time to relax and pursue their interests by sharing a job with another people; however, if people do not share their jobs, they may have to stay at the office from morning to night and don't have enough time to play and talk with their families. Apart from that, I add that sharing a job could help people keep fit. When people spend less time on work, they have more time to exercise. With the extra time, they can play their favorite sports like running, playing football. In addition, they would not sit at the office for a long time which may cause head or neck problems. Therefore, I support with Karen that Job-sharing could improve overall well-being.

While I acknowledge Tom's concern that job-sharing may increase training and management costs and potentially reduce efficiency, I concur with Karen's assertion that it can enhance work-life balance and job satisfaction. As Karen pointed out, sharing a job allows individuals to allocate more time for relaxation and personal interests, preventing them from being confined to the office for extended periods. This not only fosters stronger family connections but also promotes physical well-being. By dedicating less time to work, individuals can engage in their preferred physical activities such as running or playing football. Furthermore, reduced sedentary office hours can help prevent health issues associated with prolonged sitting, such as neck or back problems. Consequently, I support Karen's stance that job-sharing contributes positively to overall well-being. (128 words)

Как оценивается Academic Discussion
