Many companies provide important products and services but at the same time cause environment damages. Some people believe the way to prevent these companies from damaging the environment is for the government to require more penalties from them, such as higher tax and larger fine. Esempio Utente

I strongly concur with A that government should not charge more fees to industries since it definitely do harm to economic development. To elaborate, when facing high amount of penalties or taxes, industries who are already in finanance or operation crisis will end up in broken apart or hiring fewer labors; other industries who are able to pay the charge may increase the sales price of their products in order to compensate their expense. Consequently, people will suffer from the cripple effect caused by increased taxes. For instance, consumers have to pay more money to buy products and feel disappointed about the market, being reluctant or meticulous when spendint their money. What’s more, the total unemployment rate will increase, damaging the whole living standard and well-being of citizens. Though B highlights that charming fees motivates company to invest in finding new ways to produce products which is no more environmentally harmful, she fails to acknowledge that finding alternative energy or method always require unaffordable money for most of companies. Therefor, it only add extra burden to companies who are struggling to survive in the economic turndowns.

I wholeheartedly agree with Student A that the government should not impose additional fees on industries, as it could negatively impact economic development. To elaborate, when faced with high penalties or taxes, industries already experiencing financial or operational difficulties may be forced to downsize or hire fewer workers. Meanwhile, companies capable of paying these charges might increase the prices of their products to offset their expenses. As a result, people will suffer from the ripple effect caused by increased taxes. For example, consumers may have to pay more for products and become disillusioned with the market, leading them to be more cautious and selective when spending their money. Furthermore, the overall unemployment rate could rise, damaging citizens' living standards and well-being.

While Student B argues that imposing fees encourages companies to invest in finding new production methods that are less harmful to the environment, they fail to acknowledge that discovering alternative energy sources or techniques often requires substantial financial investment beyond the reach of most businesses. Therefore, adding extra burdens on companies already struggling to survive in an economic downturn is counterproductive. (186 words)
