Music Coming to Cafeterias  Mary Dixon, Director of the Student Life Committee, announced yesterday that beginning next semester university cafeterias will broadcast classical music during mealtimes. “Music will foster a more relaxed atmosphere.” said Dixon, "Students' lives are hectic, and mealtimes provide important opportunities to take a break and catch up with friends before moving on to the next class or assignment." Added Dixon. "We're also hoping that, if we provide the music, students will unplug their personal music devices—their Walkmans and mp3 players or whatever—and will spend more time talking to each other. When students have their headphones on. they're not connecting with each other."

15. 3.Delivery

The speaker's delivery could be improved by focusing on clarity and fluidity in speech. The pace was inconsistent, and there were occasional pauses that disrupted the flow of the response. To improve, the speaker should practice speaking at a consistent pace and work on reducing unnecessary pauses. Additionally, pronunciation should be more accurate to avoid spelling errors.

4.Topic Development The topic development in the response could be better. While the speaker did mention the man's opinion and provided reasons for his disagreement with the university's plan, the connections between ideas were not always clear, and some points were repetitive. To improve, the speaker should work on organizing their response more coherently and providing sufficient support or examples for each point made. This will help create a more well-structured and persuasive argument.

6.Language Use

The man does not agree with the campus university's plan (clarification of the subject) because first student firstly, students (corrected grammar and phrasing) are not looking for relaxing activities during the break, ; (improved punctuation) they are currently studying, perhaps (added a more natural-sounding word) for exams or any excitement assignments (corrected word choice). So, it doesn't mean that they're looking for a relaxing break during the time and needing more time to hear classical music, . (improved punctuation and sentence structure) It will not make them more concentrated when they hear a music background behind them because not everyone can learn with the music background. And then second,, not everyone likes classical music,. So, will everyone stop bringing their mp3 or so on? Well, instead,, they will bring it because it will block the cafeteria music because not everyone likes classical music. So, in conclusion, the man does not agree with this obligation plan (corrected word choice) because first firstly (improved phrasing) students are not looking for relaxing breaks and it will help them to block their concentrate hinder their concentration (corrected phrasing and grammar) and also not everyone likes classical music, so students will not listen to classical music and bring their own mp3 at the end.

Revised Answer (140 words): The man disagrees with the university's plan because firstly, students are not seeking relaxation during breaks; they are often studying for exams or working on assignments. Therefore, listening to classical music during this time will not help them concentrate, as not everyone can study effectively with background music. Secondly, not everyone enjoys classical music. As a result, students may continue to bring their personal music devices to block out the cafeteria's classical music. In conclusion, the man opposes this plan because it does not cater to students' preferences for relaxation or concentration during breaks, and it fails to consider the diverse musical tastes of the student body.

To enhance the delivery, the speaker should practice proper pausing and enunciation to ensure that the speech flows smoothly and is easily understood.

However, there is room for improvement in terms of providing more specific details or examples to further support the student's opinion. 5.Language Use

The article reading passage says that cafeterias will start broadcasting classical music next semester. There are two reasons for this. First, the classical music will be relaxing calming (use of a synonym for variety), helping students calm down from their hectic studying life. In addition, the classical music would incentivize students to stop using personal music devices, so they will have more of an incentive to socialize with each other. However, the student in this conversation disagrees. They say that most students like to study and eat at the same time, and the new classical music will instead distract the studiers from their homework or their exams. In addition, most students do not like classical music, so they will instead be more incentivized to bring their own personal music devices and less incentivized to talk to each other. Thus, these are the two reasons why the student disagrees to with (correct preposition usage) cafeterias broadcasting classical music.

Revised Answer (140 words):

The reading passage states that university cafeterias plan to broadcast classical music next semester for two reasons: to create a calming atmosphere for students and encourage them to socialize by not using personal music devices. However, the student in the conversation disagrees with this plan. They argue that many students prefer studying while eating, and introducing classical music would serve as a distraction rather than a benefit. Furthermore, they point out that most students do not enjoy classical music and would likely continue using their personal devices to listen to their preferred genres. Consequently, the student believes that the university's plan to broadcast classical music in cafeterias would not achieve its intended goals and could potentially have adverse effects on students' study habits and social interactions.

5.Language Use

According to the passage, university plans to broadcast the classical classical music as a break. He thinks it will foster a more relaxed atmosphere and it may make the students take a better break. Secondly, the university thinks it will help the students unplug personal devices like MP3 and they will talk to each other and increase the students' connecting. But the man doesn't like the idea. Because firstly, he thinks some students want to study especially preparing for their final exam and they can't concentrate and the music will distract the students' attention. Secondly, some students don't like classical music and the classical music will make the students more likely to bring their own devices. So the man doesn't like the idea.

(Use "classical" instead of "the classical" for consistency in referring to the genre of music.)

Revised Answer (140 words):

According to the passage, the university plans to broadcast classical music during mealtimes as a way to create a more relaxed atmosphere and encourage students to take better breaks. The university also believes that this initiative will help students unplug from their personal devices, such as MP3 players, and engage in more face-to-face conversations with their peers. However, the man disagrees with this plan for two main reasons. First, he argues that many students prefer to study while eating, especially when they are preparing for exams or working on assignments, and playing classical music in cafeterias could be distracting for them.
