과제 개요

Professor

According to needs of city development, the government would like to plan to have some certain places for citizens. The government now plans to establish some car-free zones in the center of the city. Some like this plan for they believe it can help eliminating traffic congestion, while others dislike it because they would not be able to reach places like stores and restaurants by car in a convenience way. What do you think of this plan and why?

Student A

As a resident of a big city, I can't imagine a car-free zone. Car as a means of transportation, is mainly in order to meet people's traffic requirements. Therefore, the car-free zone represents that the transportation in this area is not convenient compared to other places, which is bad for the life of local people

Student B

As a father of a kid, I love this idea. In my case, my children sometimes like to play on the road, but it is not safe. If there is a car-free zone, then my children and other children will have more places to play, which is good for their growth.

Title: 6 文章修订

In response to the proposed plan for car-free zones in the city center, I believe it presents both advantages and drawbacks. On one hand, such zones can significantly reduce traffic congestion and create safer spaces for children to play, promoting their overall well-being. Additionally, car-free areas may encourage the use of alternative transportation methods, such as walking or cycling, which can lead to a healthier lifestyle and reduced pollution. On the other hand, the absence of cars may hinder accessibility to essential services and businesses for some individuals. To strike a balance between these conflicting interests, I suggest implementing designated car-free hours or days rather than a complete ban on vehicles in specific areas. This approach would allow for increased safety and environmental benefits while still accommodating those who rely on cars for transportation. (137 words)

In response to the proposed plan for car-free zones in the city center, I believe it presents both advantages and drawbacks. On one hand, such zones can significantly reduce traffic congestion (clarified "reduce" instead of "present") and create safer spaces for children to play, promoting their overall well-being. Additionally, car-free areas may encourage the use of alternative transportation methods, such as walking or cycling (added "or" for clarity), which can lead to a healthier lifestyle and reduced pollution. On the other hand, the absence of cars may hinder accessibility to essential services and businesses for some individuals (rephrased "for some individuals" for clarity). To strike a balance between these conflicting interests, I suggest implementing designated car-free hours or days rather than a complete ban on vehicles in specific areas (rephrased "in specific areas" for clarity). This approach would allow for increased safety and environmental benefits while still accommodating those who rely on cars for transportation (rephrased "for transportation" for clarity).

I believe that car-free zones is beneficial for the city, since it encourages more people to adopt green transport by taking public transportation or riding bikes. To elaborate, when people are not allowed to park their car in city center, not only the traffic jam can be mitigated, but also the environment of street in city can be more admirable since government can uses these places to build public park. For instance, many places nowadays have risen the fee for parking car, which greatly reduced people's preference of driving in short distance. Additionally, it raise people's awareness of improving the environment and showcase the city's commitment for building a environmentally-friendly place. Still, some argues that car-free zone will make the transportation less convenient. However, this problem can be easily stressed by only building car-free zone at center places where advanced public transportation system is available.

Section Title: 6 Article Revision

In my opinion, implementing car-free zones in the city center can be advantageous, as it promotes the use of eco-friendly transportation options such as public transit and cycling. To elaborate, restricting vehicle access in central areas not only alleviates traffic congestion but also enhances the urban streetscape by allowing for the creation of public parks and green spaces. For example, numerous cities have increased parking fees to discourage short-distance driving, effectively shifting preferences towards more sustainable modes of transport. Furthermore, this approach raises environmental awareness and demonstrates a city's commitment to fostering an eco-conscious community. While some may argue that car-free zones could result in less convenient transportation options, this concern can be mitigated by strategically establishing these zones in central locations with well-developed public transit systems.
