Music Coming to Cafeterias  Mary Dixon, Director of the Student Life Committee, announced yesterday that beginning next semester university cafeterias will broadcast classical music during mealtimes. “Music will foster a more relaxed atmosphere.” said Dixon, "Students' lives are hectic, and mealtimes provide important opportunities to take a break and catch up with friends before moving on to the next class or assignment." Added Dixon. "We're also hoping that, if we provide the music, students will unplug their personal music devices—their Walkmans and mp3 players or whatever—and will spend more time talking to each other. When students have their headphones on. they're not connecting with each other."

Revised Answer (140 words):

The university plans to play classical music in the cafeteria next semester, aiming to provide opportunities for students to relax during mealtimes and encourage them to talk with their friends. However, the man disagrees with this idea for two main reasons. First, he believes that many students prefer to study while eating their meals, particularly when they have important exams or assignments coming up. Introducing classical music during mealtimes could be distracting for these students and hinder their ability to concentrate. Second, the man points out that not all students enjoy classical music, which may lead them to use their personal music devices even more to block out the background music. In conclusion, the man thinks that the university's plan may not achieve its intended goals and could potentially create more issues for the students.

If the music was provided, they won't be able to concentrate on the class materials and it would be totally distracting. Additionally, some students may won't not like the classical music. It is better for them to have their own mp3, to have their own musical devices on to block them from the noisy environment. It is better for them.

Revised Answer (140 words):

The student life committee announced that starting next semester, university cafeterias will play classical music during mealtimes, aiming to help students relax and connect with their peers. However, the man disagrees with this plan, arguing that mealtimes are often used by students to study for upcoming exams or complete assignments. He believes that playing music in the cafeteria would make it difficult for students to concentrate on their work, ultimately proving distracting rather than relaxing. Furthermore, he points out that not all students enjoy classical music and might prefer listening to their own playlists on personal devices. In his opinion, the plan could lead to more students using headphones to block out the classical music, which would counteract the intended goal of fostering social interaction.
