This week, we’ve been discussing how cars that run on gasoline contribute to climate change through the green house gases they emit. Let’s consider two possible ways the government can encourage the use of more electric vehicles to limit this. One method is to create an addi&onal tax people who own gasoline-powered cars must pay. The second is to offer free government loans, a loan without interest, to companies that manufacture electric cars and for people to buy them. Which method do you think is beVer? Why?
Hannah
Though I don’t see it as being popular, taxing people who own gasoline-powered cars will be much more effec&ve. It will force people with these cars to sell them to purchase vehicles to avoid paying the tax. I don’t think anyone wants to pay an addi&onal tax every year that they own a vehicle when electric vehicles are reliable and beneficial for the environment.
Francisco
Offering free loans would be much more effec&ve than taxing people. If I knew that I could get a free loan for buying an electric car, I would buy one. Everyone wants to save money, so this will be popular and make a significant difference in buying habits. This desire applies even more for manufacturing businesses.

3. Task completeness
The essay does not fulfill the task requirements as it is empty and does not provide any response to the professor's question. To improve, you should write an essay that addresses the specific requirements of the task. This includes expressing your opinion on which method is better for encouraging electric vehicle use, supporting your opinion with reasons, and making a contribution to the discussion in your own words.
Example 1: In my opinion, offering free government loans would be a more effective method to encourage electric vehicle use. This approach would make electric cars more affordable for consumers, leading to increased demand and adoption.
Example 2: I believe that taxing gasoline-powered cars would be less effective in promoting electric vehicles. While it may force some people to switch to electric cars, it could also create resentment among those who cannot afford an electric vehicle or feel unfairly targeted by the tax.
4. Essay structure and organization
As there is no essay provided, there is no structure or organization present. To improve, you should create a clear structure for your essay with an introduction, body paragraphs addressing specific points related to your opinion, and a conclusion summarizing your argument.
Example 1: Introduction: Begin by briefly introducing the topic of encouraging electric vehicle use and stating your opinion on which method is more effective. Body Paragraphs: Each paragraph should focus on one reason supporting your opinion. For example, if you believe free government loans are more effective, one paragraph could discuss how this approach makes electric cars more affordable for consumers. Conclusion: Summarize your main points and restate your opinion on which method is more effective in promoting electric vehicle use.
Example 2: Introduction: Introduce the topic of government incentives for electric vehicles and state your stance on whether taxing gasoline-powered cars or offering free loans is more effective. Body Paragraphs: Provide specific examples and evidence to support your opinion. For instance, if you think taxing gasoline-powered cars is less effective, discuss potential drawbacks of this approach, such as public resentment or economic consequences. Conclusion: Recap your main arguments and reaffirm your position on the most effective method for encouraging electric vehicle adoption.

Title: 6 Revised Essay
In my opinion, offering interest-free loans for electric vehicle purchases and manufacturing would be a more effective approach to encourage the adoption of eco-friendly transportation. This method would not only incentivize individuals to opt for electric vehicles but also support manufacturers in expanding their production capabilities. By providing financial assistance, the government can stimulate demand for electric cars, making them more accessible and appealing to a broader audience.
Moreover, implementing additional taxes on gasoline-powered vehicles might result in public discontent and resistance. In contrast, offering interest-free loans fosters a positive perception of electric vehicles and encourages voluntary participation in environmental conservation efforts. Ultimately, this approach promotes sustainable development while simultaneously catering to the financial interests of both consumers and manufacturers. (124 words)
Revised essay: Title: 7 Essay Grading
In my opinion, offering interest-free loans for electric vehicle purchases and manufacturing would be a more effective approach (reason: clearer and more concise) to encourage the adoption of eco-friendly transportation. This method would not only incentivize (explanation: "incentivize" is a more appropriate term for encouraging action) individuals to opt for electric vehicles but also support manufacturers in expanding their production capabilities. By providing financial assistance, the government can stimulate demand for electric cars, making them more accessible and appealing (reason: "accessible" and "appealing" better describe the benefits of financial incentives) to a broader audience.
Moreover, implementing additional taxes on gasoline-powered vehicles might result in public discontent and resistance (explanation: specifying the potential negative outcome). In contrast, offering interest-free loans fosters a positive perception of electric vehicles and encourages voluntary participation (reason: emphasizes the non-coercive nature of the approach) in environmental conservation efforts. Ultimately, this approach promotes sustainable development while simultaneously catering to the financial interests (explanation: highlights the dual benefits) of both consumers and manufacturers.
