Resumen de la Tarea

Professor This week we looked at how the cinema-the physical building where we watch films-has evolved over the years. Now, I want you to consider this question: with so many internet streaming services available for viewing films at home, do you think cinemas will cease to exist in the future? Will a time come when people stop going to cinemas entirely? Why or why not?

Student A In my opinion, cinemas are here to stay. For thousands of years, people have been sharing the collective experience of watching a show, whether it was a live performance at a theater in ancient Greece or a recorded film in a cinema in today's society. And they will continue to want that shared viewing experience.

Student K I agree that cinemas are becoming obsolete, but I don't think it's because of technology. Many of the best films these days are being produced as ten- or twelve-part miniseries, with much more focus on character development. These productions are meant to be watched on television. You don't need a big screen to enjoy them.

Ejemplo de Usuario

I strongly agree with K’s idea that cinemas will still exist in the future since people will continue to share viewing experience collectively. I would add that although the popularity of TV sets, DVDs and other home video equipment does provide people with the convenience of watching movies, the cinema has more professional equipment, which will make audiences become more involved in the movie. And the movie theater’s large screen and high-quality sound devices can enhance the viewing effect. C raised the relevant point that cinema will be obsolete since the narrative form of film is changing and will no longer need to be watched in the cinema. But C doesn’t mention that not all movies are miniseries, there are many big-budget movies with special effects or stunning images that are also popular, such as science fiction films and 3D films. Without the support of the large screen in the cinema, these films cannot show the original scenes, so the cinema is still indispensable.

Title: 6

I concur with K's assertion that cinemas will persist in the future, as people will continue to seek collective viewing experiences. I would like to emphasize that while the availability of television sets, DVDs, and other home video equipment offers individuals the convenience of watching movies, cinemas possess more advanced equipment, enabling audiences to become fully immersed in the film. The movie theater's expansive screen and high-quality sound systems significantly enhance the overall viewing experience. C raised a pertinent point that cinemas may become obsolete due to the evolving narrative forms of films, which may no longer necessitate being watched in a cinema setting. However, C fails to acknowledge that not all movies are miniseries; numerous big-budget films featuring special effects or breathtaking visuals remain popular, such as science fiction and 3D films. Without the support of a large cinema screen, these films cannot showcase their original scenes effectively, rendering cinemas indispensable. (155 words)
