In the next few weeks, we'll be talking about urban traffic management. Let's begin by discussing one popular idea-creating car-free central zones. Some cities around the world have recently designated their downtown areas as being automobile-free, which means that vehicles are not allowed to enter the city centers. Do you think that more cities should make their central zones car-free? Why or why not?

Claire

I support the idea of establishing car-free central zones because this will result in one important benefit for city residents-it will be better for their health. Instead of driving everywhere, people will be encouraged to walk or cycle more. It would be a great way to incorporate exercise into people's routines.

Paul

It sounds like a good idea, but I'm skeptical. My main concern is that many businesses located in the city centers, such as shops and restaurants, may suffer because the customers will no longer be able to reach those businesses by car. For some customers, if they can't drive, they won't go at all.

Paul's point is right when there is no more transportation available for the citizens. After all, the economical development of a city also plays pivotal role. However, I second with Claire's viewpoint on the one for the following reasons. I hold the view that central zones car-free will contribute a lot to the environment of the central city. This is because that actually the automobile vehicles usually release countless amounts of greenhouse gases and pollutants, like methane, carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxide. In this way, it will increase the ratio of suffering asthma and even cancer, which greatly damage people's health. With the creation of automobile-free zones, the air quality will dramatically develop, Besides, the zones also provide a suitable area for people to entertain, For example, people can have a picnic with their friends. And they can have a walk, breathing the pure clean air. Therefore, I think Paul's viewpoint is tenure, actually there is no need to worry about it, because people can replace the automobile car by riding bicycles.

Title: 6 文章修订

While Paul raises a valid concern regarding the potential impact on transportation availability, I concur with Claire's perspective on implementing car-free central zones for several reasons. Primarily, I believe that establishing such zones will significantly benefit the urban environment. This is due to the fact that motor vehicles are notorious for emitting substantial quantities of greenhouse gases and pollutants, including methane, carbon dioxide, and nitrogen oxide. Consequently, this exacerbates health issues such as asthma and even cancer among city dwellers.

By creating automobile-free zones, air quality would dramatically improve. Moreover, these areas would offer an inviting space for residents to engage in leisure activities. For instance, individuals could enjoy picnics with friends or take leisurely strolls while breathing in cleaner air. Although Paul's concerns warrant consideration, alternative modes of transportation like bicycles can effectively address these issues while still promoting a healthier and more sustainable urban environment. Title: 6 文章修订

In my opinion, establishing a minimum age for children to have mobile phones is both necessary and justifiable. We live in a fast-paced world inundated with various types of information, much of which can have detrimental effects on young minds. Examples include exposure to violence, dishonesty, and even explicit content.

Furthermore, children often lack the maturity and judgment needed to navigate the digital landscape safely, making them particularly vulnerable to harmful influences. By setting an age limit for mobile phone usage, we can provide a healthier environment for their growth and development.

However, it is essential to strike a balance between protecting children from potential harm and ensuring they maintain connections with their parents and friends. While restricting access to mobile phones may contribute to a more secure upbringing, careful consideration must be given to avoid isolating children from essential communication channels. In my opinion, I concur with Claire's perspective that a company should prioritize staffing its business with the most experienced employees available. Experienced employees offer numerous advantages, such as requiring less time-consuming training and having the ability to quickly bring the business up to speed. Furthermore, working with seasoned professionals can help a company avoid unnecessary costs.

To elaborate, inexperienced employees may inadvertently make costly mistakes due to their lack of expertise in handling certain matters. Companies must bear the financial burden of these errors. By minimizing such expenses, businesses can allocate resources towards expanding their operations and boosting profits.

While some may argue that younger employees possess greater enthusiasm and energy, these qualities alone are insufficient for addressing the challenges of a new business venture. In conclusion, I firmly believe that experienced employees are better equipped to contribute positively to a company's success compared to their less-experienced counterparts. (152 words)

In my opinion, new businesses should prioritize hiring experienced industry veterans, as their expertise and professionalism can significantly contribute to the company's success. Their extensive experience not only aids in daily operations but also provides invaluable insights for overcoming challenges faced by new enterprises.

Firstly, the inherent disadvantages of new businesses can be mitigated by the presence of seasoned veterans. As these individuals have dealt with various issues throughout their careers, they possess the knowledge and skills necessary to help CEOs develop systematic approaches to avoid bankruptcy. Ensuring the survival of a new company is crucial; therefore, prioritizing this over any innovative ideas brought forth by younger employees is essential.

Secondly, industry veterans have encountered numerous difficulties and obstacles in their professional lives, making them adept at problem-solving and less susceptible to deception in business dealings. In contrast, younger employees fresh out of university may lack real-world experience, rendering them more vulnerable and prone to errors. Consequently, companies may incur additional expenses rectifying these mistakes.

Ultimately, employing experienced veterans fosters a healthy and sustainable foundation for new businesses, paving the way for optimal results in the long run. Their wealth of knowledge and expertise is invaluable in navigating the complexities of establishing a successful enterprise while minimizing potential risks and pitfalls. (214 words)

While Kelly's perspective on the fact that schools shouldn't change their main courses is correct to some extent, in my opinion, I tend to concur with Paul's perspective that we should implement new kinds of courses for numerous reasons. Building upon his perspective, I would like to emphasize the benefits that students would receive when we implemented new courses to our schools. For instance, consider a friend of mine called Bob that was in a school where it tought students new and creative courses. He stated that these new courses benefited his future career by a long mile, and because of this kind of teaching style, he could find a job more easily due to his different skills that he acquired during his school years. This showed the positive impact that the students would receive when we implement new courses. Kelly's perspective, on the other hand, ignored this crucial aspect. If we imposed her approach, then it would have a detrimental consequence for the students. Consequently, I wholeheartedly concur with Paul's assertion that we should implement new courses to our schools.

While Claire's perspective is logical to some extent, I still wholeheartedly concur with Andrew's assertion that companies have to choose a good location in order to let them be more attractive to potential employees. Building upon his perspective, I would like to emphasize the other crucial benefits that the companies could receive by adopting this plan. For instance, there was a company in my neighborhood that picked a great location. Not only this company thought of other locations that the potential employees would be, but also it considered the value of this land. That piece land back then was significantly cheaper than the other pieces of land. Thus, this company saved a significant amount of money, and the company paid the employees more than they expected. Eventually, 10 years later, this company is still filled of people who are on the waiting list for the jobs. This showed the benefits that the companies would receive when adopting this approach. Claire's perspective, on the other hand, ignored this crucial aspect. Adopting her approach might lead to detrimental consequences for the economy. Therefore, I wholeheartedly agree with Andrew's perspective that if companies want more employees, then they must choose a good location.

While Claire's viewpoint holds some merit, I firmly agree with Andrew's argument that selecting an optimal location is essential for companies to attract potential employees. Expanding on his perspective, I would like to highlight additional significant benefits that organizations can reap by adopting this strategy. For example, a company in my neighborhood strategically chose an excellent location. This decision not only factored in the preferences of prospective employees but also took into account the land's value. At the time, this particular plot was considerably more affordable than other options, resulting in substantial savings for the company. Consequently, they were able to offer higher-than-expected salaries to their employees. A decade later, this organization continues to thrive with a long waiting list of job seekers eager to join its ranks. This success story demonstrates the advantages companies can gain by prioritizing location in their decision-making process. In contrast, Claire's perspective overlooks this crucial aspect and could potentially lead to adverse economic outcomes if implemented. Therefore, I wholeheartedly endorse Andrew's assertion that securing an ideal location is paramount for companies seeking to attract and retain a talented workforce. (189 words)

I would add that ordinary people talk about the product would encourage other people to try using this product. Clarie raised the relevant point that celebrities can attract the consumers to buy the product, but she did not mention that these products would only be purchased by their fans. It is obvious that this strategy would not make the product attractive to anyone, so it is harmful for the company's profit. For example, some fans would buy a lot of these products in order to support their idol. But this behavior would make other consumers feel uncomfortable because they seem to be overacted and the quality of the product have no good feedback.

I concur with Paul's assertion that the "ordinary people approach" is more effective in advertising. This strategy, which involves everyday individuals discussing a product, can inspire others to try it for themselves. While Claire correctly points out that celebrities can capture consumers' attention, she fails to acknowledge that this method primarily appeals to fans of the celebrity. Consequently, this approach may not attract a broader audience and could potentially harm a company's profits. For instance, some fans might purchase excessive amounts of a product to support their idol, which could alienate other consumers who perceive this behavior as overzealous and lacking genuine feedback on the product's quality. To elaborate, AI and robots are more effective, assisting people in the heavy job like the making a car and other objects. For example, the usage of automation in car company like Tesla enable workers don't to work in the hot palces for hours. It's valuable that workers are free of the burden of building cars in repeatively way in the assembly line, which benefit the whole well-being of the staff. It has been a long term debat about what subject should be included in student’s curriculum. In response to Dr.Diaz’s question, I am inclined to agree with Paul that we should only integrate fundamental subjects such as math, reading, science, and history in to the curriculum, not art and music. I base my conclusion on the following reasons:To begin with, as Paul points out, students can learn these subjects by their own and including these courses into curriculum will put a financial strain on schools. For example, schools have to hire additional teacher to impart the knowledge, purchase additional instruments, pigment or canvas, and buy additional books, which are quite expensive and will cost schools a fortune. Additionally, including music and art into curriculum will cause students anxious. To be more specific, nowadays, students face numerous pressure, from lecture, homework and test of foundational courses. Not to mention, they all face the challenge of entering a good university. Hence, they are busy and anxious. Incorporating courses like music and art means besides spending time on the traditional subjects, they have to spend extra time on preparing for the class, the discussion and the exam of music and art which will deprive them of time on rest or even having a good sleep and easily burn them out. To sum up, I strongly agree with Paul that these courses should not be incorporated into curriculum.

The ongoing debate regarding the inclusion of various subjects in a student's curriculum raises valid concerns. In response to Dr. Diaz's question, I concur with Paul that the curriculum should primarily focus on fundamental subjects such as math, reading, science, and history, rather than incorporating art and music. My stance is based on the following reasons:

Firstly, as Paul highlights, students can independently explore art and music outside of school hours. Integrating these subjects into the curriculum may impose a financial burden on educational institutions. For instance, schools would need to hire additional teachers, purchase costly equipment and materials such as instruments or art supplies, and acquire supplementary books.

Secondly, including art and music in the curriculum could exacerbate students' anxiety levels. In today's competitive academic environment, students already face immense pressure from lectures, homework assignments, and exams related to foundational courses. Furthermore, they must contend with the challenge of securing admission to reputable universities. Consequently, they are often overwhelmed and anxious. Introducing art and music classes would require them to allocate additional time for preparation, class discussions, and assessments associated with these subjects – potentially compromising their ability to rest or maintain a healthy sleep schedule and ultimately leading to burnout.

In light of these considerations, I firmly agree with Paul that art and music should not be incorporated into the standard curriculum. (229 words)

In my opinion, a four-day workweek would be highly beneficial for employees, as it allows them to have more time to enjoy their lives and improve their overall well-being. Specifically, employees would be motivated to efficiently complete their tasks within the shortened workweek, enabling them to fully relax and engage in non-work-related activities during their extended weekends.

For instance, during my internship as an undergraduate at a company, I observed that many staff members would watch videos or engage in other distractions during work hours due to the long workweek. A four-day workweek could potentially eliminate such distractions and increase productivity by encouraging employees to focus on their tasks within a limited timeframe.

However, some may argue that a shorter workweek could place additional pressure on workers who struggle to complete their tasks within the reduced timeframe. On the contrary, I believe this phenomenon serves as an opportunity for employees to enhance their efficiency and time management skills rather than being perceived as added pressure. (168 words)

I agree with Claire that establishing car-free zones in city centers can have public health benefits. More people walking and biking rather than driving has been shown to lower obesity rates and improve cardiovascular health. However, Paul makes a good point that we need to consider the impact on local businesses. The key is finding a balanced approach - perhaps having the car-free zone only during certain high traffic hours or certain days of the week. This way, people can still access businesses by car at other times if needed. The substantial public health and environmental benefits make it a worthwhile endeavor. I support the implementation of car-free zones with careful planning to mitigate any negative effects, while still allowing downtown businesses to thrive and residents to access the amenities they need.

I concur with Claire's assertion that implementing car-free zones in urban centers can yield significant public health advantages. Encouraging walking and cycling instead of driving has been proven to reduce obesity rates and enhance cardiovascular well-being. Nonetheless, Paul raises a valid concern regarding the potential impact on local businesses. The crux lies in adopting a balanced strategy - possibly designating car-free zones during specific high-traffic hours or days of the week. This approach would enable individuals to access businesses via automobile when necessary. The considerable public health and environmental benefits render this pursuit highly valuable. I advocate for the establishment of car-free zones, provided that meticulous planning is undertaken to alleviate any adverse consequences, while simultaneously ensuring downtown businesses flourish and residents have access to essential amenities. In my opinion, I harbor the idea that the use of automation will contribute greatly to our life if regulated. Firstly, implementing artificial intelligence products can dramatically increase our productivity. Nowadays, people are swamped numberless tedious work such as pre-processing data, detecting errors in the lecture and programming towards simple issues, which can be taken over by AI. In this way, a lot of time can be saved for more meaningful things like focusing on personal progress, thus benefiting both the individual and company as a whole. Beside, robotics can be an effective way for us to inspire creativity. For example, we often confront situations where we cannot come up with creative ideas and insights. With the broad knowledge of AI, we can see the big picture and explore different perspectives. However, we can't overlook the potential threat posed by AI. It's imperative for us to regulate AI like their moral issues and illegal behaviors which could be utilized and misused by some people.

3. Task completeness

The essay does a good job of addressing the task requirements, expressing a clear opinion on the use of automation, and providing relevant examples to support the viewpoint. However, there is room for improvement in terms of elaborating on some points and providing more specific examples. For instance, discussing the potential job loss due to automation could have added depth to the argument.

Example 1: "While automation can lead to increased productivity, it may also result in job losses for human workers, which could negatively impact society."

Example 2: "To mitigate potential threats posed by AI, governments should implement strict regulations and ethical guidelines to ensure responsible use of this technology."

4. Essay structure and organization

The essay has a clear structure with an introduction, body paragraphs discussing both advantages and disadvantages of automation, and a conclusion that reiterates the main point. However, transitions between ideas could be improved for better coherence.

Suggestion 1: Add transition words or phrases to connect ideas more smoothly. Example 1: "On one hand, implementing artificial intelligence products can dramatically increase our productivity. On the other hand, we must consider the potential threats posed by AI."

Suggestion 2: Organize paragraphs by focusing on one main idea per paragraph. Example 2: Paragraph 1 - Introduction Paragraph 2 - Advantages of automation (productivity) Paragraph 3 - Advantages of automation (creativity) Paragraph 4 - Disadvantages of automation (psychological effects) Paragraph 5 - The need for regulation Paragraph 6 - Conclusion
