Create Student Committee to Decide Funding for Student Organizations   I think students should be in charge of deciding which student organizations (for example, the jazz band or the hiking club) receive money from the university. Students should also be in charge of how much money each organization receives. A special committee made up of students could be created to make these decisions. Currently, these funding decisions are made by university administrators, but a student committee would know better than the administrators which organizations are most important to students and most deserving of the university's financial support. I’m sure a lot of students would be interested in serving on the committee, and those who do serve will gain valuable leadership experience.

Original Answer: The proposal is that the university should create a student committee to decide funding for student organizations because students can be in charge of such things and some students may gain leadership experience. The proposal suggests that the university create a student committee to allocate funding for student organizations, as students can manage these decisions and potentially gain leadership experience. (建议使用更自然的表达方式,如“allocate funding”代替“decide funding”,以及使用“potentially”来表示可能性。)

However, the man in the listening doesn't agree with it because, for one, he thinks that students can't be too close to such organizations because they may not be so objective as the administrators do, which can lead to unfairness. However, the man disagrees because he believes that students' close involvement with these organizations may compromise their objectivity compared to administrators, leading to potential unfairness. (使用更准确的词汇和语法结构,如“compromise their objectivity”和“potential unfairness”。)

What's more, he thinks that it will be hard to find students interested in such committees because they are too busy with their studies, so it will consume too much time for the administration. Furthermore, he argues that finding interested students might be difficult due to their busy schedules, resulting in a significant time commitment for the administration. (使用更自然的连接词“Furthermore”,并简化句子结构。)

Revised Answer (140 words):

根据修改建议,回答的修订版本如下:

Essentially, a student proposes that the university should establish a student committee to determine funding for student organizations, as students have better knowledge of their organizations and it can offer them valuable leadership experience. However, the man in the conversation opposes the proposal for two reasons. The first reason is that students are not in an appropriate position to make decisions since they are directly involved in student groups. They are unable to make objective and impartial decisions. The second reason is that the student committee might struggle to find individuals interested in leadership positions. As students are preoccupied, they would not dedicate their voluntary time to the committee. For instance, even the student council doesn't have a vice president. Therefore, these are two reasons why the man disagrees with the proposal.

Original: A student suggests that school need allocate its funding to student organizations. The man in the conversation didn't agree with it. Firstly, the students are too close to make decisions. The students will be subjective as they may allocate the money to their friends' group. It's not fair. Second, he argues that many students are not interested in being in student leadership because students are always so busy in their study. They have not enough time to do these student organization jobs. So it's not suitable for students to be the leadership to make decisions.

Corrected: A student suggests that school need the school needs (需要改为需要,以匹配主语) to allocate its funding to student organizations. The man in the conversation didn't does not (使用一般现在时,而不是过去时) agree with it. Firstly, the students are too close to make decisions. The students will be subjective as they may allocate the money to their friends' groups (复数形式,因为可能有多个团体). It's not fair. Second, he argues that many students are not interested in being in student leadership because students are always so busy in their study with their studies (用复数形式表示学习的多个方面). They have not insufficient (使用更高级的词汇) time to do these student organization jobs. So it's not suitable for students to be the leadership in leadership positions (更自然的表达方式) to make decisions.

Revised (140 words): The student suggests that the school needs to allocate its funding to student organizations. However, the man in the conversation does not agree with this proposal. He believes that students are too close to the situation, which may lead them to make subjective decisions, such as allocating funds to their friends' groups, resulting in unfairness. Furthermore, he argues that many students are not interested in taking on leadership roles due to their busy schedules and involvement in their studies. As a result, they have insufficient time to dedicate themselves to managing student organizations effectively. Therefore, it is not suitable for students to hold leadership positions when making decisions about funding allocation for student organizations. Instead, having university administrators make these decisions would ensure a more objective and fair distribution of funds.

3.Delivery The speaker's delivery is generally clear and fluid, with a consistent pace and only occasional pauses. However, there is room for improvement in terms of pronunciation and reducing unnecessary pauses. To enhance the delivery, the speaker should practice speaking more confidently and focus on proper pronunciation of words.

4.Topic Development The response is coherent and well-organized, with clear connections between ideas and sufficient support or examples. However, the speaker could improve by providing more specific details from the listening passage to support their points. Additionally, the speaker should work on making smoother transitions between ideas to create a more cohesive response.

5.Language Use

Original: According to a recent article, a student suggests the university should create a student committee for them to design how to allocate the funding for student organizations instead of by the university administration. This is because students know the situation better so they could make the best allocation for the funding. Furthermore, through the process, students could learn and gain valuable leadership experience. However, the men in the conversation disagreed with this proposal. First, he claims that students are too close to the situation so they cannot be as objective as the administrators. Furthermore, he claims that they are going to have a hard time to find students to serve on the committee because it is such a big commitment and takes up a lot of time.

Corrected: According to a recent article, a student suggests that the university should create a student committee for them to determine how to allocate funding for student organizations, rather than having it done by university administration(changed "instead of by" to "rather than having it done by" for better clarity). This is because students have better knowledge of the situation(changed "know" to "have better knowledge" for advanced vocabulary), allowing them to make optimal allocations for funding. Moreover, through this process, students can acquire valuable leadership experience. However, the man in the conversation disagrees with this proposal. Firstly, he argues that students are too close to the situation and cannot be as objective as administrators(changed "claims" to "argues" for variety). Additionally, he asserts that it would be difficult to find students willing to serve on the committee due to its significant time commitment(rephrased sentence for better flow).

Revised Answer (140 words): The man in the conversation expresses his disagreement with the idea of establishing student committees to decide funding for organizations, such as concerts or jazz bands, that students participate in. He provides two reasons for his opinion. First, he believes that students might be too close to the organizations, which could create an unfair situation for everyone involved. For instance, a student might allocate funds to their close friends' groups, while an administrator could prevent such favoritism. Second, he argues that finding students willing to take on the responsibility of managing the committee could be challenging due to the significant time commitment required. Original Answer: The proposal suggested that the university should create a student committee to decide funding for student organizations, since students know how much money they need and know better about funding decisions than administrators. And students will be interested in the committee, which offers them a valuable leadership experience. However, the main dislike is the proposal, because the students are too close to the situations that they can't be as objective as administrators. They sometimes may give money to their friend's club or their sub club. In addition, it's hard to find students to serve in the committee because they are too busy to volunteer. And the committee is a very time commitment job, like student council, which didn't recruit as many students as they want.

Corrected Answer: The proposal suggests that the university should create a student committee to decide funding for student organizations because students know how much money they need and have better insight into funding decisions than administrators. Students would also be interested in joining the committee, which offers valuable leadership experience. However, there are concerns with the proposal since students are too close to the situation and may not be as objective as administrators. They might favor their friends' clubs or their own clubs when allocating funds. Additionally, it could be difficult to find students willing to serve on the committee due to their busy schedules and other commitments. The committee would require significant time commitment, similar to the student council, which has struggled to recruit enough members. (修改了句子结构,使其更自然流畅;使用了更高级的词汇;改进了语法错误;增强了结论部分)

Revised Answer (140 words): The proposal suggests that the university should create a student committee to decide funding for student organizations because students have a better understanding of their financial needs and possess more insight into funding decisions than administrators. Furthermore, students would be interested in joining the committee, which offers valuable leadership experience. However, there are concerns with the proposal since students are too close to the situation and may not be as objective as administrators. They might favor their friends' clubs or their own clubs when allocating funds. Additionally, it could be difficult to find students willing to serve on the committee due to their busy schedules and other commitments.
