Underwater, whales produce loud noises: known as songs. Scientists use whale songs to study the movements for migrations, of groups of whales. Recently, scientists discovered something unusual: a single, solitary whale whose song is unlike that of all other known whales. The most notable difference between this unusual whale's song and those of other whales is its high pitch or frequency This unique whale is called the 52-hertz whale because it sings at the unusual frequency of 52 hertz, a much higher pitch than normal. When the 52-hertz whale was first detected, the cause of its uniquely high-pitched song was unknown; however, scientists now have several theories to explain it. One theory holds that the 52-hertz whale may be a hybrid: the offspring of two different whale species Whales of different species are known to interbreed and produce hybrid offspring that combine characteristics from each of their parents' species. As a hybrid, the whale may have a unique song, different from that of either of its parents because it resulted from a combi nation of the two A second theory is that the 52-hertz whale may have a damaged sense of hearing Just as people learn to speak by copying the sounds they hear, whales may learn to sing by listening to the sounds of other whales* songs. When people are born deaf, their speech may sound different from that of people born hearing. Similarly, the 52-hertz whale’s songs may sound different simply because it cannot hear the songs of other whales. A third theory holds that the 52-hertz whale may be the only known member of a rare species Perhaps there were once many more whales of this species, but most are now gone. It seems to be entirely unique only because most of its species has died out.

The reading passage mainly explores the issue of causes of high-pitched song made from whales. The professor in the lecture deal with the same issue. However, he argues that the ideas in the passage is flawed which contradicts to what the reading states. And the professor uses 3 specific points to support his idea. Firstly, even though the reading passage suggests that the whale may be a hybrid whose sound is a combination of its parents, the professor in the lecture argues that the migration patterns are unusual between them. This is because the hybrid whales hardly tend to travel with the normal ones which means they will not do the same things. However, in the experiment, the researchers didn't find that the location of the whales shows it was alone. Obviously, the professor's argument disproves the counterpart in the reading. Moreover, despite the statement in the passage that damaged sense of hearing may be a factor because the whale can not hear and mimic other's sounds, the professor contends that the pitch is related the physical structure in the whale's throat. Then he supports the point with the fact that sounds are usually generated from the structure in the throat. In other words, the unusual pitch is not because of the damaged hearing since there's no connection between throats and hearing. Finally, the professor asserts that the whale can not be the rare species whereas the author of the passage claims that the whale is the rare species that might have died out. The professor proves that this claim is indefensible by point out that if the whale belongs to the rare species, it definitely has parents who also sounds as high-pitched song, which means they have been there for many decades. Thus, around it we should hear other alike sound. However, the researchers did not found the similar sound before this sound, which means that it is not the rare species. In conclusion, the professor in the lecture clearly identifies the weakness of the reading passage and convincing shows that the 3 causes of the high-pitched sound is incorrect.

Section Title: 6.文章修订

The reading passage primarily discusses the possible causes of the high-pitched song produced by whales. In contrast, the professor in the lecture contends that the ideas presented in the passage are flawed and provides three specific points to support his argument.

Firstly, although the reading passage suggests that the whale may be a hybrid with a unique song resulting from a combination of its parents' species, the professor argues that this is unlikely due to its unusual migration patterns. He explains that hybrid whales typically travel with non-hybrid whales, but according to research on the 52-hertz whale's location, it migrates alone. This evidence contradicts the reading's claim and casts doubt on the hybrid theory.

Moreover, while the passage posits that a damaged sense of hearing may be responsible for the whale's unique song as it cannot hear and mimic other whales' sounds, the professor refutes this idea by emphasizing that pitch is related to physical structures in a whale's throat. He supports this point by explaining that vocal sounds originate from an individual's vocal apparatus; therefore, an unusual throat structure would be necessary for producing such a high-pitched song. This information undermines the reading's argument since there is no connection between hearing and throat structure.

Lastly, contrary to the reading passage's assertion that the 52-hertz whale may be a rare species whose population has mostly died out, the professor disputes this claim by pointing out that if it were indeed part of a rare species, its parents would also have sung at a similar frequency. Given that underwater sound detection technology has been in use for many decades, scientists should have detected other 52-hertz whale songs if they existed relatively recently. However, no such songs have been recorded before this one instance, casting doubt on whether it represents a rare species.

In summary, through his analysis of migration patterns, throat structure connections to pitch production and the absence of similar whale songs, the professor effectively identifies weaknesses in the reading passage's arguments and convincingly demonstrates that the proposed causes for the high-pitched song are incorrect. First, while the article considered kudzu root crown removal as a useful way to eliminate this species, the lecture highly criticized this method by pointing out that the unfathomable deep root of the kudzu. The lecture thought that the root is very deep in soil, which cannot be found and removed completely, still leaving part of the root in soil. Consequently, the remained part of root will be resurgent quickly, growing back as original and lead to this method invalid. Second, the passage held that allowing large herd of goats to graze the kudzu can address the problem effectively, not only clear the kudzu but also weaken kudzu regrowing ability. However, the lecture countered this method very absolutely. Because neither transport goats to all around the influenced regions nor let them eat continuously without any respite are possible. The goats can only eat the kudzu in several weeks in limited places. In this way, the kudzu can only be controlled in limited weeks and places, but in long terms, the eaten places' kudzu will be grown back and the uneaten places will be the same as usual time. Third, the use of fungi as a means to control kudzu is also doubted by the lecture. While the passage mentioned that using plenty of fungi can effectively control the kudzu, the lecture held that the lab cannot produce plenty of fungi in limited time. In addition, fungi is harmful to human skin and cause irratation, which cannot be extensively adopted in. To sum up, all of the methods mentioned in the passage to control the kudzu spread are definitely countered by the lecture with specific reasons and analysis.

Section Title: 6.文章修订

The article presents three methods for controlling the spread of kudzu, an invasive plant species, while the lecture casts doubt on the effectiveness of these methods and provides reasons to support its arguments. Firstly, the article suggests that removing the root crown of kudzu is a viable method for eradicating the plant. However, the lecture contends that this approach is flawed due to the deep and difficult-to-reach nature of kudzu roots. It argues that incomplete removal of the root crown will result in rapid regrowth, rendering this method ineffective.

Secondly, the passage posits that using large herds of goats to graze on kudzu can effectively address the problem by clearing and weakening its regrowth ability. The lecture disputes this claim, stating that it is not feasible to transport goats to all affected areas or allow them to graze continuously without respite. Consequently, this method would only provide limited control over kudzu in specific areas and timeframes, with regrowth occurring in both grazed and ungrazed locations.

Lastly, the article proposes using fungi as a means to control kudzu growth. The lecture challenges this suggestion by highlighting two significant drawbacks: firstly, laboratories currently lack the resources to produce sufficient quantities of fungi; secondly, fungi can cause skin irritation in humans upon contact. Due to these limitations, widespread adoption of this method remains unlikely.

In conclusion, each method presented in the article for controlling kudzu spread is effectively countered by the lecture with specific reasons and analysis. (247 words)

Section Title: 6.文章修订

The lecture presents three counterarguments to the theories proposed in the reading passage about the 52-hertz whale's unique song. The lecturer casts doubt on each theory, providing alternative explanations that challenge the reading's claims.

Firstly, the reading suggests that the 52-hertz whale may be a hybrid offspring of two different species. However, the lecturer disputes this idea, stating that hybrid whales typically follow the migration patterns of non-hybrid whales and travel together with them. In contrast, the 52-hertz whale has its own distinct migration pattern and migrates alone, making it unlikely to be a hybrid.

Secondly, the reading posits that the 52-hertz whale might have a damaged sense of hearing, causing its unusual song. The lecturer refutes this theory by explaining that producing such a high-pitched sound requires an unusual throat structure rather than being related to hearing ability. There is generally no connection between hearing and throat structure in whales or humans.

Lastly, the reading proposes that the 52-hertz whale could be the only known member of a rare species nearing extinction. The lecturer challenges this claim by pointing out that if other members of this species existed recently, such as parents or relatives of today's whale, their songs would have been detected by underwater technology used for decades. However, no other 52-hertz songs have ever been recorded before this one.

In conclusion, each theory presented in the reading passage is effectively countered by arguments from the lecture. The true reason behind the unique song of the 52-hertz whale remains an enigma. (256 words)

The discovery of a unique whale that sings at a distinctive frequency of 52 hertz has led scientists to propose three hypotheses to explain the cause of its high-pitched song. However, the professor contends that all three theories are flawed and cannot fully account for the existence of this unusual whale.

Firstly, it is improbable that this whale is a hybrid offspring of two different whale species since hybrids typically follow the migration patterns of one of their parents. In contrast, this specific whale exhibits a completely distinct pattern and does not travel alongside any other non-hybrid whale groups.

Secondly, the 52-hertz whale's unusual pitch cannot be attributed to hearing damage because there is no connection between the sound that a whale generates and its hearing. Sounds are produced from a whale's throat, similar to other living creatures; hearing damage does not cause changes in throat structure. Consequently, it is implausible that its loss of hearing would lead to the unusual high pitch it generates.

Lastly, given that sound detection technologies have been in use for decades, if this whale were part of a rare species, then scientists should have detected at least the sound of its parents. However, humans have never heard sounds with similar pitches from any group of whales before; thus, this theory is also unsupported. (222 words)

Both the reading and the lecture discuss the mystery of the reason for the 52-hertz whale's high-pitched song. The reading presents three theories to talk about. In the lecture, the professor uses three reasons to contradict the reading. First of all, the reading mentions that one of the reasons that the 52-hertz whale could make a high-pitched sound is that its ancestors were different kinds of whale species. In the lecture, however, the professor disagrees with that point by stating that it is unlikely that 52-hertz wahle is hybrid for its unusual migration. The professor points out that hybrid whales still travel the same way as normal whales. But by listening to the sound, scientists noticed that this particular whale has its own migration patterns and that it migrates on its own. What's more, the second theory in the reading passage suggests that the damaged hearing sense causes the high-pitched sounds. The professor in the lecture doubts this theory by stating that the cause of the high-pitched sounds is the physical structure. The professor further explains that, like humans, wahles make sound through their throats. The 52-hertz must have unique throat stucture to let it make high-pitched sounds. The damged hearing sense is not the reason because there is no connection between hearing and throat. Last but not least, the reading passage makes the statement that the 52-hertz whale is the rare species and all of its species extinguised. Nevertheless, the professor argues that even if it is rare, it must have parents. But scientists only detected one sound in the past decades.

Both the reading and the lecture discuss the mystery of the reason for the 52-hertz[No Replacement Word Found](5-farads/5-farad) whale's high-pitched song. The reading presents three theories to talk about. In the lecture, the professor uses three reasons to contradict the reading.

First of allFirst(first of all (first)), the reading mentions that one of the reasons that the 52-hertz[No Replacement Word Found](5-farads/5-farad) whale could make a high-pitched sound is that its ancestors were different kinds of whale species. In the lecture, however, the professor disagrees with that point by stating that it is unlikely that 52-hertz[No Replacement Word Found](5-farads/5-farad) wahlewhale(misspelling) is hybrid for its unusual migration.

The professor further explains that, like humans, wahlesWales(misspelling) make sound through their throats. The 52-hertz[No Replacement Word Found](5-farads/5-farad) must havemust-have(Hyphen in 'must have/see') unique throat stucturestructure(misspelling) to let it make high-pitched sounds. The damgeddamaged(misspelling) hearing sense is not the reason because there is no connection between hearing and throat.

Last but not least, the reading passage makes the statement that the 52-hertz[No Replacement Word Found](5-farads/5-farad) whale is the rare species and all of its species extinguisedextinguished(misspelling). Nevertheless, the professor argues that even if it is rare, it must have parents. But scientists only detected one sound in the past decades.

Section title: 6.文章修订

Both the reading and the lecture discuss the enigma surrounding the 52-hertz whale's unique high-pitched song. The reading presents three theories to explain this phenomenon, while the lecture refutes each of these theories with counterarguments.

Firstly, the reading suggests that the 52-hertz whale might be a hybrid, resulting from two different whale species interbreeding. However, the lecture disputes this idea by highlighting that hybrid whales typically follow the same migration patterns as non-hybrid whales and travel together with them. In contrast, scientists have determined that the 52-hertz whale has its own distinct migration pattern and migrates alone, making it unlikely to be a hybrid.

Furthermore, the reading posits that damaged hearing could be responsible for the whale's high-pitched song. The lecture challenges this theory by explaining that a whale's pitch is determined by its throat structure rather than its hearing ability. The professor emphasizes that there is no connection between hearing and throat structure; thus, damaged hearing cannot account for the unique pitch of the 52-hertz whale's song.

Lastly, the reading proposes that the 52-hertz whale may be a member of a rare species whose population has mostly died out. Contrarily, the lecture contends that if this were true, there would have been other whales in this species with parents singing at a similar frequency. However, underwater sound detection technology has been in use for decades without any evidence of other whales producing songs at this frequency.

In conclusion, while both sources attempt to explain why this solitary whale sings at such an unusual frequency, they differ significantly in their explanations. The lecture effectively casts doubt on each of the theories presented in the reading passage by providing alternative arguments and evidence. (285 words)

Both the reading and the lecture discuss the mystery of the reason for the 52-hertz enigma surrounding the 52-hertz whale's unique high-pitched song (changed "mystery" to "enigma" for a more precise word choice). The reading presents three theories to explain this phenomenon, while the lecture refutes each of these theories with counterarguments (clarified that the lecture is refuting, not contradicting).

Firstly, the reading suggests that the 52-hertz whale might be a hybrid, resulting from two different whale species interbreeding (rephrased for clarity). However, the lecture disputes this idea by highlighting that hybrid whales typically follow the same migration patterns as non-hybrid whales and travel together with them. In contrast, scientists have determined that the 52-hertz whale has its own distinct migration pattern and migrates alone, making it unlikely to be a hybrid (rephrased for clarity and coherence).

Furthermore, the reading posits that damaged hearing could be responsible for the whale's high-pitched song. The reading presents three theories to talk about. In the lecture, the professor uses three reasons to contradict the reading. ¶ First of all, the reading mentions that one of the reasons that the 52-hertz whale could make a high-pitched sound lecture challenges this theory by explaining that a whale's pitch is that determined by its ancestors were different kinds of whale species. Lastly, the reading proposes that the 52-hertz whale may be a member of a rare species and all of its whose population has mostly died out. Contrarily, the lecture contends that if this were true, there would have been other whales in this species extinguised. In conclusion, while both sources attempt to explain why this solitary whale sings at such an unusual frequency, they differ significantly in their explanations (clarified the difference between sources). The lecture effectively casts doubt on each of the theories presented in the reading passage by providing alternative arguments and evidence (rephrased for clarity).

This passage mainly talks about several theories on the cause or origin of the rare 52-hertz whale. The lecturer disagrees with the three hypothesis that the passage presents. Firstly, the lecturer disagrees that the 52-hertz whale is an hybrid of two different whale species, because he thinks that hybrid whales should migrate with the normal species of whales, while this 52-hertz whale has an unique migrating route. Secondly, he objects that 52-hertz whale is a result of hearing damage. Giving that fact that the throat of this whale must be unusual to produce such high-pitched sound, it doesn't make sense that hearing damage would alter the anatomy of throat. Thirdly, he doubts that the 52-hertz whale comes from a rare species. Consistently using the sound detector for many years, it's unlikely that we haven't obtained any traces of the parents of the whale or other members of the species that the 52-hertz whale belongs to.

In the reading material, the author cites three theories to explain the special frequency of the 52-hetrz whale. Nevertheless, in the listening material, the lecturer opposes the author's statements.

First and foremost, the author argues that the 52-hertz[No Replacement Word Found](5-farads/5-farad) whale might be a hybrid because hybrida hybrid(This rule identifies whether the article 'a' is missing in a sentence.)'s song always be unique. However, the lecturer offers an opposite point that hybrid whales also have songs like one spice and, and(comma between independent clauses) they would not migrate alone. The 52-hertz[No Replacement Word Found](5-farads/5-farad) whale's voice is too unusual.

In addition, the lecturer casts doubts on the author's ahotheranother(misspelling) statement that this whale might have a demageddamaged(misspelling) hearing system so it cannot hear and learn other whales' song, demonstrating that the voice of 52a 52(This rule identifies whether the article 'a' is missing in a sentence.)-hetrz whale is exetremelyextremely(misspelling) high. To make such voice, the structure of the throughtthought(misspelling) of this whale must have unusual structure. However, a demagedamage(misspelling) on the listening system would not make such unusual structure because there are notno(no vs not) considerable connection betweembetween(misspelling) listening system and throughtthought(misspelling)'s physical structure.

Finally, the author's last theory that this whale might be the only known member of a rare species is also be contradicted by the lecturer who poinspoint(misspelling) out that although the species is rare, this whale must have parents that also have a frequcncyfrequency(misspelling) of sound in 52-hetrz, but they were not be detected. Because of the lecklack(misspelling) of whales have same frequency, there are notno(no vs not) strong evidence to support that this 52-hetrz whale is belongbelonged(Agreement: 'been' or 'was' + past tense) to a special group or species.

Section Title: 6.文章修订

The reading passage presents three theories to explain the unique frequency of the 52-hertz whale's song. However, the lecturer in the listening material refutes each of these theories, casting doubt on the author's statements.

Firstly, the author suggests that the 52-hertz whale could be a hybrid, as hybrids tend to have unique songs. Contrarily, the lecturer points out that hybrid whales usually have songs similar to one species and do not migrate alone. The 52-hertz whale's song is too unusual and its migration pattern too distinct for it to be a hybrid.

Secondly, the author proposes that this whale might have a damaged hearing system, preventing it from hearing and learning other whales' songs. The lecturer disputes this claim by explaining that the extremely high pitch of the 52-hertz whale's song is dependent on an unusual throat structure. A damaged hearing system would not cause such an abnormal structure since there is no significant connection between hearing and throat structure.

Lastly, the author theorizes that this whale could be the only known member of a rare species. The lecturer challenges this assertion by stating that even if the species were rare, this whale must have had parents with a similar 52-hertz frequency in their songs. However, no other whales with this frequency have been detected despite underwater sound detection technology being in use for decades. This lack of evidence weakens the argument that the 52-hertz whale belongs to a unique group or species. (246 words)

In the reading material, revised essay, the author cites three theories title has been changed to explain "6.文章修订" to correct the special frequency of numbering and language. The introduction has been rephrased for clarity and coherence. The terms "reading material" and "listening material" have been replaced with "reading passage" and "lecturer," respectively, for a more natural tone.

In the 52-hetrz whale. Nevertheless, in the listening material, the lecturer opposes the author's statements. ¶ First and foremost, the author argues that the 52-hertz whale might be a hybrid because hybrid's first point, "hybrid's song always be unique. However, unique" has been changed to "hybrids tend to have unique songs" for grammatical accuracy and clarity. The phrase "opposite point" has been replaced with "contrarily," making the lecturer offers an opposite point that hybrid whales also have songs like one spice and they would not migrate alone. The 52-hertz whale's voice is too unusual. sentence more concise.

In addition, the lecturer casts doubts on second point, several spelling errors have been corrected, such as changing "ahother statement" to "another statement," and rephrasing sentences for better flow. Additionally, the author's ahother statement that this whale might have a demaged hearing system so it cannot hear terms "52-hetrz whale" and learn other whales' song, demonstrating that the voice of 52-hetrz whale is exetremely high. To make such voice, the structure of the throught "throught of this whale must whale" have unusual structure. However, a demage on been corrected to their proper forms.

In the listening system would not make third point, several spelling errors have also been fixed, such unusual structure because there are not considerable connection betweem listening system and throught's physical structure. ¶ Finally, the author's last theory that this whale might be the only known member as changing "leck of a rare species is also be contradicted by the lecturer who poins out that although the species is rare, this whale must have parents that also have a frequcncy whales" to "lack of sound in 52-hetrz, but they were not be detected. Because of the leck of whales have same frequency, there evidence." The phrase "there are not strong evidence to support that this 52-hetrz whale is belong to a special group or species.species" has been restructured for better grammar and clarity.

Overall, these revisions improve the essay's readability and coherence while maintaining its original structure.

Section Title: 6. Article Revision

Section Title: 6.文章修订

The discovery of a single, solitary 52-hertz whale with a unique song has left scientists puzzled. The lecture casts doubt on the theories presented in the reading passage, which attempt to explain the unusual characteristics of this whale.

Firstly, the lecturer argues that it is unlikely for the 52-hertz whale to be a hybrid, as its migration pattern is too unusual. Unlike other known hybrid whales that follow the migration patterns of non-hybrid whales and travel together with them, the 52-hertz whale migrates alone. This solitary behavior contradicts the reading's claim that it could be a hybrid resulting from interbreeding between different species.

Secondly, the lecture disputes the theory that a damaged sense of hearing could be responsible for the high-pitched song of the 52-hertz whale. The lecturer explains that pitch depends on the physical structure of a whale's throat rather than its hearing ability. Thus, an unusual throat structure might be responsible for producing such high-frequency sounds, not impaired hearing as suggested in the reading passage.

Lastly, it is improbable that this unique whale is part of a rare species. The lecturer points out that even rare species have family members who would also sing at 52 hertz frequency. However, no other whales with similar songs have been detected by underwater technology used for decades. This lack of evidence undermines the reading's claim that this could be an almost extinct species.

In conclusion, each theory presented in the reading passage has been challenged by counterarguments from the lecture. As such, none of these theories can sufficiently explain why this particular 52-hertz whale exhibits such unique characteristics and behaviors. (272 words)

6.文章修订

The reading passage presents three theories to explain the existence of a 52-hertz whale, while the listening passage casts doubt on each of these theories. The essay will discuss the lecturer's counterarguments and demonstrate how they challenge the points made in the reading passage.

Firstly, the reading section proposes that the 52-hertz whale may be a hybrid offspring of two different whale species. However, the listening passage challenges this idea by stating that hybrid whales typically follow the migration patterns of non-hybrid whales and travel alongside them. In contrast, scientists have determined that the 52-hertz whale does not migrate with other whales and exhibits a unique migration pattern. This evidence undermines the theory that it is a hybrid.

Secondly, the reading passage suggests that the 52-hertz whale may have a damaged sense of hearing, which could explain its unusual song. Nevertheless, the lecturer disputes this claim by asserting that there is no connection between hearing and throat structure. The high pitch of this particular whale's song is attributed to its atypical throat structure rather than any hearing impairment. Consequently, this argument also fails to provide a convincing explanation for the distinctive song.

Lastly, according to the reading passage, it is possible that the 52-hertz whale is a rare species with few remaining members. However, this theory is also contested by the lecturer who points out that if there were other whales from this rare species (such as its parents), they would have been detected by now due to long-standing underwater sound detection technology. Since no other similar songs have been recorded before this one, it casts doubt on whether it belongs to an undiscovered rare species.

In light of these counterarguments presented in the listening passage, it becomes evident that none of these theories offered in the reading passage sufficiently explain why there is a 52-hertz whale undersea. As such, further research and investigation are needed to uncover the mystery behind this unique whale and its song. (328 words)

(This sentence has been revised to provide a clear introduction to the essay topic and establish the relationship between the reading and listening passages.) The essay will discuss the lecturer's counterarguments and demonstrate how they challenge the points made in the reading passage.

(This sentence has been revised to accurately represent what was stated in the listening passage.) In contrast, scientists have determined that the 52-hertz whale does not migrate with other whales and exhibits a unique migration pattern. The lecture casts doubt on all three theories presented in the passage regarding the mysteries of the 52-hertz whale. Firstly, the lecture refutes the idea that the 52-hertz whale is a hybrid by highlighting its unique migration pattern. Unlike other hybrid whales that share similar migration patterns, the 52-hertz whale migrates alone, suggesting it cannot be an offspring of two different species of whales.

Secondly, the passage's theory that the 52-hertz whale produces a different sound due to a damaged sense of hearing is also challenged by the lecture. It explains that the pitch of a whale's sound depends on its throat structure; thus, what can be concluded from the unique sound is that the 52-hertz whale possesses an unusual throat structure. There is no correlation between a whale's hearing ability and the sound it produces.

Lastly, in response to the passage's perspective that the 52-hertz whale could be the only known member of a rare species, the lecture argues that technology for detecting underwater whale sounds has been in use for decades. Therefore, there should be some documentation of this rare species' parents or other members if they existed at a relatively recent time. However, no such records have been found, indicating that only one 52-hertz whale exists. (212 words)

Unlike other hybrid whale shared the same whales that share similar migration pattern, which, in turn, suggested that the 52-hertz whale migrate alone and could not patterns, the 52-hertz whale migrates alone, suggesting it cannot be an offspring of two different species of whale. whales (Reworded for clarity and flow).

According to the lecture, however, hearing is also challenged by the lecture. It explains that the pitch of the sound was dependent a whale's sound depends on the its throat structure; thus, what can be concluded from the unique sound is that the 52-hertz whale possesses an unusual throat structure of the whales, so what could be concluded from the special sound was that 52-hertz whale had a unique throat. Lastly, in defense response to the passage's perspective of 52-hertz whale being that the 52-hertz whale could be the only known member of a rare species, the lecture said that it had argues that technology for detecting underwater whale sounds has been in use for decades since the technology of detecting the sound of whales was put into use, hence (Changed "in defense to" to "in response to" for better word choice). Therefore, there should be some early documents of the documentation of this rare species' parents of 52-hertz whale, but in fact there wasn't any of them, or other members if they existed at a relatively recent time. The cause of the unusually high-pitch song of the 52-hertz whale has been an object of heated debate among scholars. The first theory proposed by the author states that the whale may be a hybrid offspring of two different whale species. It may be the combination of its parents' distinct song characteristics that results in this special frequency. The lecturer opposes this theory by pointing out the fact that the migration pattern of this whale does not coincide with that of other normal whales. Normally, if a whale is hybrid, its migration pattern should at least concide with that of its parents'. The author also suggests that disability in sense of hearing may be the source of problem. A whale learns to sing by imitating what it hears. With damaged hearing ability, the sound it produces may deviate from normal patterns by other whales. The lecturer challenges this theory with a fact that physical structure of a whale's throat, which is responsible for producing sound, should not be affected by damaged ears. This high pitch is just impossible if the structure is the same as other whales. The last theory offered by the author is the possibility of the whale being a rare species not well recognized by human. There may be a unique species that can produce 52-hertz sound and the reason why we think the one we have detected is special is simply because it is the only one left. The lecturer disagrees by stating that the technology to detect the sound of whales has been applied for years. If there were a rare species that can produce 52-hertz sound, it would be found in the past and not recently.

  1. Task Completeness The essay does a good job of summarizing the points made in the lecture and explaining how they cast doubt on the theories presented in the reading passage. However, there is room for improvement in terms of language use and clarity.

Suggestions for improvement:

  • Be more concise when summarizing the points from the lecture.

  • Use more varied sentence structures and vocabulary to enhance your language use.

Example 1: Original sentence: "The lecturer opposes this theory by pointing out the fact that the migration pattern of this whale does not coincide with that of other normal whales." Improved sentence: "The lecturer refutes this theory, highlighting that the whale's migration pattern differs from those of other whales."

Example 2: Original sentence: "This high pitch is just impossible if the structure is the same as other whales." Improved sentence: "Producing such a high pitch would be impossible if its throat structure were identical to other whales."

  1. Essay Structure and Organization The essay has a clear structure with an introduction, body, and conclusion. Each paragraph focuses on a specific point and provides supporting details. However, transitions between ideas and paragraphs could be improved.

Suggestions for improvement:

  • Use clearer transition words or phrases to connect ideas within paragraphs.

  • Ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that introduces its main point.

Example 1: Original transition: "Normally, if a whale is hybrid, its migration pattern should at least concide with that of its parents'." Improved transition: "However, if a whale were truly hybrid, it would be expected to share similar migration patterns with its parent species."

Example 2: Original topic sentence: "The author also suggests that disability in sense of hearing may be the source of problem." Improved topic sentence: "Another theory proposed by the author is that a hearing impairment could be responsible for the whale's unique song."

  1. Revised Essay

The enigmatic 52-hertz whale has sparked significant debate among researchers due to its distinctively high-pitched song. The lecture casts doubt on the three theories presented in the reading passage, which attempt to explain this unique phenomenon.

The first theory posited by the author suggests that the 52-hertz whale could be a hybrid offspring of two different species, resulting in a unique song derived from a combination of its parents' characteristics. However, the lecturer refutes this hypothesis by emphasizing that the whale's migration pattern deviates from those of other whales. If it were indeed a hybrid, it would be expected to share similar migration patterns with its parent species, which is not the case.

Another theory proposed by the author attributes the whale's unusual song to a hearing impairment. The author contends that whales learn their songs by imitating sounds they hear; thus, impaired hearing could lead to deviations from typical patterns. Nevertheless, the lecturer challenges this assertion by highlighting that producing such a high pitch requires an atypical throat structure unrelated to hearing abilities. Consequently, it is implausible for damaged hearing alone to account for this extraordinary pitch.

Lastly, the author speculates that the 52-hertz whale might be a rare and previously undiscovered species. According to this theory, there may have been more whales capable of producing 52-hertz songs in the past but are now extinct or extremely scarce. However, the lecturer disputes this claim by asserting that underwater sound detection technology has been in use for decades; if other whales of this purported rare species had existed relatively recently, scientists would have detected their unique songs earlier.

In summary, while each theory presented in the reading passage attempts to explain the peculiar song of the 52-hertz whale, none withstands scrutiny when compared with evidence provided by the lecturer. As such, further research is necessary to unravel this marine mystery and uncover why this solitary whale sings at such an unprecedented frequency. (325 words)

The cause of the 52-hertz whale's uniquely high-pitched song is the central topic of both the writing and the professor. In the writing, three theories developed to explain the special whale song have been elaborated. However, the professor refutes that all of them may be unlikely to be the truth. Firstly, contrary to the writing's assertion that the 52-hertz whale may be a hybrid and its special song resulted from a combination of its parents, the professor contends that it's unlikely that the whale is a hybrid. He points out that if the whale is a hybrid, it will travel together with its mates. However, scientists have recorded the whale's location, only to find that the 52-hertz whale follows an unusual migration pattern different from other whales and it migrates alone. Additionally, the professor points out that the whale's songs and pitch depend on its physical structure of its throat, which counters the writing's assertion that the whale's high pitch is caused by its hearing damage, because there is no connection between hearing and the structure of throat. Therefore, the professor thinks the unusual high pitch can't be caused by hearing loss. The professor continues to discredit the writing's idea that the whale may be the only known member of a rare species. He argues that even if most of the 52-hertz whale's species has died out, it must still have parents that have the same sound with it. However, the professor states that scientists have detected the ocean for decades but they have never heard the same song before. In light of these three counterarguments presented by the professor, an apparent divide exists between the writer and the professor, waiting to be further explored.

The reading passage introduces the topic of 52-hertz whale and asserts that it has a uniquely high-pitched song, it presents three theories to explain this unique song. However, the lecturer counters these claims by arguing that these claims have flaws and critiques each of the claims made in the reading. Firstly, the reading passage makes clear that the 52-hertz whale may be the offspring of two different whale species. Contrarily, the lecturer contends that the 52-hertz whale has a unusual migration. But the migrations of other hybrids is as normal as one of their parents, other hybrids will follow the migration mode of their parents species, but the 52-hertz whale has its own migration movement. Moreover, the passage suggests that the hearing of the 52-hertz whale may be damaged. The lecturer refutes this claim by arguing that the whale's song mainly depends on its throat structure, since it has a high-pitched song, its throat structure may be unusual. He goes on to say that there is no relation between hearing and throat structure. Lastly, the reading passage asserts that the 52-hertz whale may be the only one and most of its species has died out. The lecturer cast doubt on the assertion by highlighting that parents of the 52-hertz whale should be exisited recently. However, he notes that there is no 52-hertz whale been found before, and no high-pitched song has been heard before this one.

However, the lecturer counters these claims by arguing that these claims have flaws and critiques each of the claims made in the reading. Firstly, the reading passage makes clear that the 52-hertz[No Replacement Word Found](5-farads/5-farad) whale may be the offspring of two different whale species. Contrarily, the lecturer contends that the 52-hertz[No Replacement Word Found](5-farads/5-farad) whale has aan(Use of 'a' vs. 'an') unusual migration. Moreover, the passage suggests that the hearing of the 52-hertz[No Replacement Word Found](5-farads/5-farad) whale may be damaged. The lecturer refutes this claim by arguing that the whale's song mainly depends on its throat structure, since it has a high-pitched song, its throat structure may be unusual. He goes on to say that there is no relation between hearing and throat structure. Lastly, the reading passage asserts that the 52-hertz[No Replacement Word Found](5-farads/5-farad) whale may be the only one and most of its species has died out. The lecturer cast doubt on the assertion by highlighting that parents of the 52-hertz[No Replacement Word Found](5-farads/5-farad) whale should be exisitedexisted(misspelling) recently. The reading passage introduces the topic of the 52-hertz whale, emphasizing its uniquely high-pitched song and presenting three theories to explain this phenomenon. However, the lecturer challenges these claims by highlighting the flaws in each theory and critiquing the points made in the reading.

Firstly, the reading passage posits that the 52-hertz whale may be a hybrid offspring of two different whale species. In contrast, the lecturer contends that this is unlikely due to the whale's unique migration pattern. While other known hybrid whales follow typical migration patterns of their parent species, the 52-hertz whale exhibits a distinct migration pattern and travels alone, casting doubt on the hybrid theory.

Moving on to the second theory, the passage suggests that damaged hearing may be responsible for the unusual song of the 52-hertz whale. The lecturer refutes this claim by explaining that a whale's song primarily depends on its throat structure. Given its high-pitched song, this particular whale must possess an atypical throat structure. Furthermore, he asserts that there is no correlation between hearing ability and throat structure, undermining this explanation.

Lastly, the reading passage proposes that the 52-hertz whale could be a lone survivor of a rare species with most members having died out. The lecturer casts doubt on this assertion by pointing out that even if this were true, there should have been recent evidence of other whales from this species – specifically their parents – singing at a similar frequency. However, decades of underwater recordings have not detected any such high-pitched songs prior to this discovery, suggesting it is improbable for this whale to be part of a rare species.

By examining each theory presented in the reading passage and addressing their shortcomings as explained by the lecturer, it becomes evident that further research is needed to fully understand and explain the unique song of the 52-hertz whale. (310 words)

The high-pitched song of a single whale has intrigued both the author and the lecturer, with three theories being proposed: the whale being a hybrid, having impaired hearing, or being the sole known member of a unique species. However, the lecturer disputes each of these hypotheses. Contrary to the author's suggestion that the whale may be a hybrid, the lecturer points out that its migration patterns are highly unusual. This whale migrates long distances alone, which significantly differs from other known species.

Furthermore, the lecturer challenges the author's belief that this particular whale's sense of hearing is damaged by explaining that its high-pitched song is due to an unusual throat structure. Specifically, this distinctive song is produced by the throat and is unrelated to hearing ability.

Lastly, in opposition to the author's claim that this whale might be the only surviving member of a certain species, the lecturer argues that it is improbable for it to be an isolated individual of a rare species. The professor supports this argument by stating that no similar songs have been detected before and no parents of such whales have been found. (191 words)

The lecturer pointed out the flaws lied in the passages about the theories to explain the uniqueness of the 52-hertz whale. While the passage has expressly listed out the scientists’ views, there were distinctive drawbacks on those theories. Firstly, the 52-hertz whale is unlikely to be a hybrid since it has its own migration pattern comparing to other common whales. Although the readings detected the possibility that the unusual whale might be the combination of two whale species, this view is not feasible because of the curious migration that the 52-hertz whale owns. Moreover, the curious high pitch of the whale could not be the cause of the damage from the listening system since pitch of a whale is solely determinated by the physical structure of that whale. In other words, there is no proof that there are any relationship between the listening sense and the throat structures. So, even the 52-hertz whale cannot heard the songs of others’, it might still be an insufficient theory for the unusual high pitch of the whale. Besides, rare species have their own parents. However, there is room for improvement in terms of clarity and specificity. To enhance task fulfillment, try to focus more on clearly explaining each point from the lecture and how it directly contradicts or undermines a specific point from the reading passage.

Example 1: Original sentence: "Moreover, the curious high pitch of the whale could not be the cause of the damage from the listening system since pitch of a whale is solely determinated by the physical structure of that whale." Improved sentence: "Moreover, the lecturer argues that damaged hearing cannot explain the whale's high-pitched song because pitch is determined by a whale's physical throat structure, not its hearing ability."

Each paragraph should focus on one specific point from the lecture and directly address how it contradicts or undermines a theory from the reading passage. Clear transitions between ideas and paragraphs should also be present.

Example 1: Original paragraph structure: "Firstly... Although... this view is not feasible..." Improved paragraph structure: "Firstly, according to the lecturer, it is unlikely that the 52-hertz whale is a hybrid due to its unique migration pattern. Section Title: 6. Revised Essay

The lecturer casts doubt on the theories presented in the reading passage regarding the uniqueness of the 52-hertz whale's song. The passage outlines three possible explanations, but the lecturer highlights significant flaws in each theory.

Firstly, the reading suggests that the 52-hertz whale could be a hybrid of two different species. However, the lecturer refutes this idea by emphasizing its distinct migration pattern compared to other whales. If it were a hybrid, it would likely follow similar migration patterns as non-hybrid whales, but evidence shows that it migrates alone and has an unusual route.

Secondly, the passage proposes that damaged hearing might be responsible for the whale's high-pitched song. The lecturer disputes this theory by explaining that a whale's pitch is determined by its throat structure rather than its hearing ability. There is no established connection between hearing and throat structure; thus, impaired hearing cannot account for the unique high pitch of this particular whale.

Lastly, the reading speculates that the 52-hertz whale may be a member of a rare species with most of its kind extinct. The lecturer challenges this hypothesis by pointing out that even rare species have parents who would also sing at a similar frequency. Underwater sound detection technology has been in use for decades, and if other 52-hertz whales had existed recently, scientists would have detected their songs. However, no such songs have been recorded before this one.

In conclusion, none of these theories sufficiently explain why this unique whale sings at such an unusually high frequency; therefore, its distinctiveness remains an enigma to scientists. (265 words)

Revised essay: The lecturer pointed casts doubt on the theories presented in the reading passage regarding the uniqueness of the 52-hertz whale's song (reason: to clarify that the lecturer is questioning the theories, not just pointing out the flaws). The lecturer disputes this theory by explaining that a whale's pitch is determined by its throat structure rather than its hearing ability (reason: to clarify what determines pitch). There is no established connection between hearing and throat structure; thus, impaired hearing cannot account for the unique high pitch of this particular whale species, this view (reason: to emphasize why damaged hearing is not feasible because of the curious migration a valid explanation).

The origin of the 52-hertz whale has been heatedly discussed for a long period. Scientists have proposed several theories to explain it, yet accroding to the lecturer's opinion, these theories are all flawed and cannot fully illustrate where this unique animal comes from. Firstly, the passage mentioned that this whale can be a hybrid of two different species. However, the lecturer pointed out that, unlike other hybrid whales who usually travel along the route of their unhybrid relatives, this 52-hertz whale never migrate along with other whales. Instead, it owns a solitude travelling path. This behavior does not correspond to the theory of hybrid wahles and thus repudiated the thoery. Secondly, a damage to the hearing function of the whale can also explain the different pitch it produces. The lecturer argued, nevertheless, that the significant shift in pitch must have demonstrated an alteration in the physical structure of this whale's throat. In that case, a hearing problem will not be able to account for the pitch shift because hearing damage will not cause throat changes. Thirdly, the possibility that the whale belongs to a rare species was also denied by the lecturer. He stated that under decades searching of modern underwater recording devices, no other 52-herzt whale song has ever been recorded, and should the whale belong to a rare species, its parents would have produced the same songs.

The mystery surrounding the origin of the 52-hertz whale has generated much debate among scientists. Although several theories have been proposed to explain its unique song, the lecturer contends that these explanations are flawed and do not provide a comprehensive understanding of this enigmatic creature's origins.

Firstly, the reading passage suggests that the 52-hertz whale could be a hybrid of two different species. However, the lecturer refutes this idea by highlighting that unlike other hybrid whales, which typically follow the migration patterns of their non-hybrid counterparts, this particular whale does not travel with other whales. Instead, it exhibits a solitary migration pattern, which contradicts the hybrid theory and casts doubt on its validity.

Secondly, another theory presented in the reading passage posits that damaged hearing could account for the distinct pitch of the 52-hertz whale's song. The lecturer disputes this notion by arguing that such a significant shift in pitch would require an alteration in the physical structure of the whale's throat. Since there is typically no connection between hearing and throat structure, damaged hearing alone cannot explain this unique vocalization.

Lastly, the reading passage proposes that the 52-hertz whale may be a member of a rare species. The lecturer challenges this hypothesis by stating that despite decades of underwater sound detection technology usage, no other 52-hertz whale songs have been recorded. If this whale belonged to a rare species, its parents would have also produced similar songs; however, no such evidence has been found.

In light of these points made by the lecturer, it becomes evident that each theory presented in the reading passage fails to adequately explain the origin and uniqueness of the 52-hertz whale's song. As such, further research is needed to unravel this fascinating mystery. (292 words)

Although some theories have been proposed to explain the existence of the 52-hertz whale, they are all proved wrong according to the lecture. First, the theory that indicates that the 52-hert whale is a hybrid of two different whale species is denied by the migration of the whale. A normal hybrid whale will follow the way along which either its father or mother's species will migrate. However, according to the location detection of the 52-hertz whale, it has it own unique migrating way and going solely. Its migration pattern is not like a hybrid whale's. Second, the theory regarding the damaged sense of hearing as a main reason of the 52-hertz whale's song is also wrong. The extremely high 52-hertz sound can only be produced when the whale has a very unusual throat structure. Moreover, the loss of hearing cannot let the whale produce a sound in such a high pitch or frequency because there is no connection between the capability to hear and the throat structure. Third, due to the detector of whales was invented and put into use for many decades, and the 52-hertz whale should have its parents, It was almost unlikely for its parents to escape from the very advanced detection if they are alive at relatively recent time and also producing the 52-hertz sound. However, to the current understanding, there is no record of other whales singing a song like the 52-hertz whale. Therefore, the theory of the only known member is also denied.

Section Title: 6. Revised Essay

The lecture casts doubt on the theories presented in the reading passage regarding the unique 52-hertz whale and its unusual song. Firstly, the reading suggests that the whale could be a hybrid of two different species. However, the lecture refutes this idea by highlighting that the 52-hertz whale's migration pattern is unlike any known hybrid whales, which typically follow non-hybrid whales' migration routes. In contrast, this particular whale has a distinct migration pattern and travels alone.

Secondly, the reading proposes that the 52-hertz whale's high-pitched song may be due to a damaged sense of hearing. The lecture counters this argument by explaining that the high pitch of its song is actually dependent on an unusual throat structure rather than hearing impairment. There is no connection between hearing ability and throat structure, so this theory cannot account for the unique song.

Lastly, the reading speculates that the 52-hertz whale could be the only known member of a rare species. The lecture challenges this notion by pointing out that if other members of this species existed in recent times, such as its parents who would also sing at a 52-hertz frequency, they would have been detected by underwater sound technology used for decades. However, no such songs have been recorded before this one, making it unlikely that it belongs to a rare species with other members.

Thus, all three theories presented in the reading passage are contradicted by evidence provided in the lecture, leaving the mystery of the 52-hertz whale's unique song unsolved. (256 words)

A unique whale has recently been discovered, producing a higher-pitched song at 52 hertz compared to other known whales. Scientists have proposed several theories to explain this anomaly, but the lecture casts doubt on each of these explanations.

The first theory suggests that the 52-hertz whale is a hybrid, resulting from the interbreeding of two different species. However, the lecture contends that hybrid whales typically follow the migration patterns of non-hybrid whales and travel alongside them. In contrast, the 52-hertz whale exhibits a distinct migration pattern and travels alone, which challenges the notion that it is a hybrid.

Another theory posits that the unusual song may be due to a damaged sense of hearing in the 52-hertz whale. Nevertheless, the lecture argues that pitch depends on an individual's throat structure rather than their hearing ability. Therefore, this theory fails to account for the unique vocalization since there is no correlation between hearing and throat structure.

Lastly, some scientists theorize that the 52-hertz whale could be the sole surviving member of a rare species. The lecture disputes this claim by asserting that even if this were true, there must have been other members of this species in recent history who also sang at 52 hertz. Given that underwater sound detection technology has been in use for decades without any recordings of similar songs, it is improbable that such a rare species exists.

In conclusion, while each theory attempts to explain the unique song of the 52-hertz whale, none provide a satisfactory explanation. As such, this enigmatic creature remains shrouded in mystery and continues to captivate researchers worldwide. (269 words)

he passage and lecture mainly discuss an unusual whale called 52-hertz whale. However, the cause of this unique high-pitch song is still unknown, and the author and professor hold different view on this phenomenent. First, in the reading, one theory proposes that the 52-hertz whale may be a hybrid offspring. While the professor disagrees with this argument beacause most of the whales follow the same migration pattern. He goes on to say that according to the information and research findings with regard to their locations, the 52-hertz whale is unlikely to migrate alone. Secondly, the anthor mentions another theory, holding that 52-hertz whale may have some problems with their hearing system, which leads to the different sounds. However, the professor rebut this statement because he thinks that the vocal sound is largely determined by the throat structure, and there is no connection between throat structure and hearing. Thirdly, the reading holds that the 52-hertz whale may be a rare spiece, and most of them have already died out. While in the reading, the professor challenged this view because even the rare spieces have parents. Further, he mentioned that the technology has been used to detect marine spieces for several decades, however, there is no other similar spieces had been found before the rise of 52-hertz whale.
