24. 3.Delivery
The speaker's delivery is generally clear and fluid, with a consistent pace and only occasional pauses. However, there are some instances where the speaker could improve their pronunciation to avoid confusion. For example, "turn-off event" should be "change" or "decision." To improve, the speaker should practice proper pronunciation and work on maintaining a consistent pace throughout their response.
4.Topic Development The speaker provides a coherent and well-organized response, with clear connections between ideas and sufficient support or examples. The summary of the plan is accurate, and the woman's opinion is clearly stated along with the reasons she gives for holding that opinion. The speaker effectively integrates information from both the reading and listening passages. No significant improvements are needed in this aspect of the response.
5.Language UseAccording to a recent announcement, starting from the beginning of next yearstart of the next semester, students will replace the staff membermembers at the admissions office to lead the campus tour for aspiringprospective students. It so happened because there is not enough capacity for the staff to do this anymore. Additionally, students could bring different perspectives, which is more relatable to the visitors. Two reasons can be cited for the woman to strengthen this turn-off eventchange. First, she said that she had been to the office several times, and every time when she was there, everybody was super busy. So obviously, they've already stretched things and could not do this anymore. Furthermore, she recalls that when she was first shown around here, the guy leading the tour was very nice. But he had no first-hand knowledge to answer most of her questions, such as dorm situation or the information about the cafeteria. So students' point of view will be more helpful.
(I corrected "beginning of next year" to "start of the next semester" for accuracy based on the reading passage. I changed "member" to "members" for grammatical correctness and "aspiring" to "prospective" for better word choice. I replaced "turn-off event" with "change" for clarity and natural language use.)
Revised Answer (140 words):
According to a recent announcement, starting from the start of the next semester, students will replace staff members at the admissions office to lead campus tours for prospective students. This change is due to the staff's limited capacity and the belief that students can offer more relatable perspectives to visitors. The woman supports this change for two reasons. First, she has observed that the admissions office staff is extremely busy, indicating that they cannot manage the additional responsibility of leading tours. Second, she recalls her own campus tour experience, where the staff member leading the tour lacked first-hand knowledge about certain aspects, such as dormitory conditions and cafeteria recommendations. She believes that current students' perspectives would be more helpful and relevant to prospective students.
