Professor

Starting this week, we will discuss how public transportation is funded. Public transportation gives people from all social groups access to their homes, workplaces, and shopping. Some argue that public transportation should be supported by tax revenue so that all people could have free access to it. What do you think? Should public transportation be free to all? Why or why not?

Kelly

People already pay so much in taxes for things like schools, roads, and law enforcement. I don't think that adding one more tax-especially when some people don't even use public transportation-would be a good idea. People need money for other essentials for their families.

Paul

Free public transportation would result in having fewer cars on the roads. Also, it would mean cleaner air for the cities, and there are many health conditions that could be improved with cleaner air. I think the savings in health-care costs and less pollution would make it worth it.

Gebruikersvoorbeeld

As far as I am concerned, people should have free access to public transportation. First of all, as tax payers, the citizens have already constructed their money to the development of the city, so they should have the authority to enjoy the free public transportation method. Also that would save a lot of money especially for people have to take buses or subways to work or school everyday, and these money saved from the road fee could be used on doing some purchasing. Both the life quality of people and the finance of the city can be improved. In addition, like what Paul mentioned, free public transportation can encourage citizens go out by public transportation methods instead of their private vehicles. That can not only protect our environment by reducing carbon dioxide, but also help solve the traffic problem in the cities.

Title: 6 文章修订

In my opinion, public transportation should indeed be free for all. Firstly, as taxpayers, citizens have already contributed financially to the development of their cities, and therefore should have the right to enjoy free public transportation. This would significantly save money for those who rely on buses or subways daily for work or school. The funds saved from transportation fees could then be utilized for other purchases, ultimately improving both individuals' quality of life and the city's economy.

Furthermore, as Paul pointed out, offering free public transportation can encourage citizens to opt for these methods over their private vehicles. This not only aids in protecting our environment by reducing carbon dioxide emissions but also helps alleviate traffic congestion in urban areas.

Lastly, providing free public transportation can promote social equity by granting access to individuals from all socioeconomic backgrounds. This ensures that everyone has equal opportunities to commute to work, school, or other essential locations without financial constraints acting as a barrier. By implementing this policy, we can foster a more inclusive society that caters to the needs of all its members. (185 words)
