지문

Phoresy  Animals often have to move from place to place to obtain resources. Most animals do so using their own physical effort, but animals of certain species may not be able to transport themselves efficiently in order to access the resources they need. These animals may make use of another animal species to transport them, without causing any injury to the other species. This relationship is known as phoresy. Phoresy, which is a temporary relationship, benefits the passenger species and causes little or no harm to the species doing the transporting.

Original: Well, falsory phoresy (将"falsory"改为"phoresy") means that when a species is hard to get access to resources, they might get help from other species and that is that there isn't any harm to the other species. For example, the mites. Mites are very small and they can't fly to flowers, so they might climb on hummingbirds. They are tiny enough that the hummingbirds don't get tired. When they come to the other flowers, they climb off the hummingbirds and get the resources they want.

Revised (140 words): Phoresy refers to a temporary relationship where one species relies on another for transportation without causing harm. A prime example of this is the relationship between mites and hummingbirds. Mites are tiny creatures that feed on nectar and pollen from tropical flowers. However, they cannot fly and moving between flowers would be time-consuming and energy-intensive for them. To overcome this challenge, mites hitch a ride on hummingbirds, which also feed on nectar from the same flowers. The mites are so small that their presence does not burden or harm the hummingbirds in any way. As the hummingbird moves from one flower to another, the mites can easily access new sources of food without expending much effort. This symbiotic relationship demonstrates how phoresy benefits both species involved while causing no harm to either party.

原文:forestry phoresy(正确词汇是phoresy,而不是forestry). It is a phenomenon that when animals travel long distances to find the food available, while some animals don't have the ability to move efficiently, they take advantage of other animals to give them more transportation and don't hurt. This is a temporary relationship that benefits both species involved.(这句话更自然地描述了phoresy的定义) In the listening, the professor gave an example of an animal which is a little animal living in the tropical. Because the flower in the tropical can't last long and the animal can't fly, they don't have the ability to get to the next flower. They rely on some harmful birds harmless birds(应该是无害的鸟类,而不是有害的鸟类). When the birds are coming around, they climb on it quickly. Because it's tiny, they don't cause any damage to the birds and stick to it. After a long trip, they will climb off on the new flower and without hurt. That's all.

Revised Answer (140 words):

Phoresy is a phenomenon where certain animals, unable to move efficiently over long distances, take advantage of other species for transportation without causing harm. This temporary relationship benefits both species involved. In the listening passage, the professor provided an example of mites, small creatures living in tropical regions. Due to their inability to fly and short-lived tropical flowers, mites rely on harmless birds like hummingbirds for transportation. When a hummingbird approaches a flower, the mites quickly climb onto it. As mites are tiny, they do not cause any damage to the bird while hitching a ride. Once the hummingbird reaches a new flower, the mites climb off and feed on the nectar and pollen without causing harm. This example effectively illustrates the concept of phoresy, where both species benefit from their temporary interaction.

The speaker's delivery is generally clear and fluid, with a consistent pace and only occasional pauses. However, there are some minor issues with pronunciation, such as "pharisee" instead of "phoresy." To improve, the speaker should practice pronunciation and work on refining their speech to eliminate any inaccuracies.

4.Topic Development

The response is coherent and well-organized, with clear connections between ideas and sufficient support or examples. The speaker effectively explains the concept of phoresy using the example of mites and hummingbirds. However, the response could be improved by providing more specific details from the listening passage, such as how the mites quickly climb onto the hummingbird when it sticks its beak into the flowers. Additionally, the speaker should work on using more varied vocabulary and sentence structures to enhance their response.

5.Language Use

Original: The term phariseephoresy means a tendencytemporary relationship that benefits the passenger species and causes little or no harm to the species during the transport. The professor takes mite and hummingbird for example. As a start, he said, mite feeds on tropical flowers and it is very hard to find a new one because it can't fly and it is very small. However, the hummingbird eats the same flowers too. So the mite can come onto the hummingbird and it causes no harm to them because the mite is very small. So the mite stick onto the hummingbird and hummingbird will carry the mite from one flower to another flower. So the mite can easily find the flowers.

(Pharisee was corrected to phoresy because it is the correct term for this concept. Tendency was corrected to temporary because phoresy refers to a temporary relationship between species.)

Revised (140 words):

The term phoresy refers to a temporary relationship that benefits the passenger species while causing little or no harm to the transporting species. The professor uses the example of mites and hummingbirds to illustrate this concept. He explains that mites feed on tropical flowers, but due to their inability to fly and small size, they struggle to find new flowers. However, hummingbirds also feed on these flowers, providing an opportunity for mites to hitch a ride without causing harm due to their minuscule size. By clinging onto hummingbirds, mites are effortlessly transported from one flower to another, allowing them easy access to their food source. This example effectively demonstrates phoresy, showcasing a mutually beneficial relationship between the mites and hummingbirds, where the mites can find food more easily and the hummingbirds remain unharmed.

4.话题发展 The response does a decent job of explaining the concept of phoresy using the example of mites and hummingbirds. However, there is room for improvement in terms of organization and clarity. The response could be more concise and focused on the main points from the reading and listening passages. For example, it would be helpful to mention that phoresy is a temporary relationship that benefits the passenger species without causing harm to the transporting species. Additionally, try to avoid repeating words or phrases, such as "eat flour" or "climb over the flour," which can make the response sound repetitive and less coherent. Instead, use synonyms or rephrase your sentences to maintain variety and coherence in your response.

5.语言使用

Original Answer: Well, the reading passage talks about the phoresis, and it means that animals may make use of another animal species to transport them without causing any injury to the other species. For example, mice is very small and need to find new flour to eat pollen. Another animal is birds that eat flour as same as the mice eat. When the birds come around, the mice can climb up the birds and are taken along. When the birds climb over the flour, the mice can eat pollen in flour. Since the mice is very tiny, they isn't harmful to birds anyway.

Corrected Answer: Well, the reading passage discusses phoresy, which means that animals may utilize another animal species for transportation without causing any harm to the other species. For instance, mites are very small and need to find new flowers to consume pollen. Another animal involved in this relationship is hummingbirds, which feed on nectar from the same flowers as mites. When hummingbirds approach a flower, mites can climb onto them and be carried along. As hummingbirds move from one flower to another, mites can feed on pollen at each new location. Since mites are extremely tiny, they do not cause any harm to hummingbirds. (将“phoresis”改为“phoresy”,将“mice”改为“mites”,将“flour”改为“flower”,将“birds”改为“hummingbirds”,使用更高级的词汇,如“utilize”和“consume”,以及修正语法错误,如使用正确的动词形式和代词。)

Revised Answer (140 words):

The reading passage introduces the concept of phoresy, a temporary relationship in which one animal species benefits from being transported by another without causing harm. The lecture provides an example of this relationship between mites and hummingbirds. Mites are tiny creatures that feed on pollen from tropical flowers, which have a short lifespan. Since mites cannot fly, they rely on hummingbirds for transportation. Hummingbirds also feed on nectar from the same flowers as mites. When a hummingbird approaches a flower, mites quickly climb onto it and hitch a ride to the next flower. As the hummingbird moves from flower to flower, mites can feed on pollen at each new location. This phoretic relationship benefits the mites by providing them with easier access to food sources, while causing no harm to the hummingbirds due to their minuscule size.

Original Answer: Fiancé Phoresy (单词拼写错误,应为Phoresy) means of the concept where a temporary relationship between two species of animals where one is benefited and the other is not harmed or harmed only a little. Example of this is mites. Mites will feed on the pollen of flowers, but they are too small, so when they finish feeding on one flower, it will be really hard for them to get on the next flower since they are too small and they don't have wings to carry them across. Well, here's where the hummingbird comes in. When the hummingbird flies on this flower, the mites will hop on, and when the hummingbird moves to the next, the mites will go down. In this process, the hummingbird is not harmed since the mites are too small, and the mites can arrive at another flower to eat its pollen. Without hummingbirds, mites cannot survive. Thank you.

Revised Answer (140 words): Phoresy refers to a temporary relationship between two animal species where one benefits and the other is not harmed or only slightly harmed. An example of this is the relationship between mites and hummingbirds. Mites feed on flower pollen but are too small to efficiently move from one flower to another due to their size and lack of wings. This is where hummingbirds come into play. When a hummingbird visits a flower, mites quickly climb onto it. As the hummingbird moves from one flower to another, it unknowingly transports the mites with it. In this process, the hummingbird remains unharmed due to the mites' small size, while the mites can easily access new flowers for food. Without the assistance of hummingbirds, mites would struggle to survive.

There is a species whose name is hummingbird. They will stick their beak to get nectar, and the mice mites will come to them. Because of the tiny body, the hummingbirds will not harm the mice mites. Since the hummingbirds fly from flowers to flowers, the mice mites will climb up from them onto new flowers. Without the helping of hummingbirds, it will be difficult for mice mites to get food to eat.

Revised Answer (140 words):

Phoresy is a temporary relationship in which one animal species transports another without causing harm. For example, mites are small creatures that feed on nectar and pollen in flowers. Since tropical flowers have a short lifespan, mites need to move to new flowers for sustenance. However, they cannot fly and would struggle to reach new flowers on their own. This is where hummingbirds come into play. As hummingbirds visit flowers for nectar, mites climb onto them, hitching a ride without causing any harm due to their tiny size. The hummingbirds unknowingly transport the mites from flower to flower, allowing them to access fresh sources of nectar and pollen. Without the assistance of hummingbirds, mites would face significant challenges in obtaining the food they need to survive.
