Added Dixon. "We're also hoping that, if we provide the music, students will unplug their personal music devices—their Walkmans and mp3 players or whatever—and will spend more time talking to each other. When students have their headphones on. they're not connecting with each other."

4.Topic Development The response is coherent and well-organized, with clear connections between ideas. However, the speaker could provide more specific examples or details to support their points. 5.Language Use

The university is planning to play classic music loudly in the speaker at cafeteria university plans to play classical music through speakers in the cafeteria (corrected for grammar and word choice). However, the men man (corrected for singular form) in the conversation think this is a bad idea because not every student need a relaxed atmosphere. Some of them need to study in cafeteria maybe a week before exam or before their deadline of the assignment. So that may be extremely distracting for those students who want to study in the cafeteria. Also, this may not help students unplug their musical devices because not everyone like classic music and they won't listen to that in their daily life. So in this way, it won't stop them to bring their own musical devices to the cafeteria. But more students would like to bring their own musical devices because of the classic music they don't want to listen. So they need to play their own music to cover the classic music twice. In this way, this idea is totally ridiculous.

Revised Answer (140 words):

The university plans to play classical music through speakers in the cafeteria. However, the man in the conversation believes this is a poor idea because not all students require a relaxing atmosphere during mealtimes. Some students need to study while eating, especially when facing upcoming exams or assignment deadlines. This plan could be highly distracting for those who wish to focus on their studies. Additionally, playing classical music may not encourage students to unplug their personal music devices, as not everyone enjoys this genre. Consequently, it might lead more students to bring their own devices and play their preferred music to drown out the classical tunes. In this way, the man argues that the university's plan is counterproductive and ill-conceived.

Revised Answer (140 words):

The university plans to play classical music in the cafeteria next semester, aiming to provide opportunities for students to relax during mealtimes and encourage them to talk with their friends. However, the man disagrees with this idea for two main reasons. First, he believes that many students prefer to study while eating their meals, particularly when they have important exams or assignments coming up. Introducing classical music during mealtimes could be distracting for these students and hinder their ability to concentrate. The student life committee announces that the university cafeteria will be broadcast playing classical music while during mealtimes because it helps students to become more relaxed and take a break while talking and connecting to their classmates. The man totally disagrees with this announcement because he thinks that the mealtime would be a time that students need to study for their coming exams or assignments. If the music was provided, they won't be able to concentrate on the class materials and it would be totally distracting. Additionally, some students may won't not like the classical music. It is better for them to have their own mp3, to have their own musical devices on to block them from the noisy environment. It is better for them.

("broadcast" should be "playing" as it is more appropriate for describing music being played in a cafeteria; "while" should be "during" for better sentence flow; "won't" should be "not" for proper grammar usage.)

Revised Answer (140 words):

The student life committee announced that starting next semester, university cafeterias will play classical music during mealtimes, aiming to help students relax and connect with their peers. However, the man disagrees with this plan, arguing that mealtimes are often used by students to study for upcoming exams or complete assignments. He believes that playing music in the cafeteria would make it difficult for students to concentrate on their work, ultimately proving distracting rather than relaxing. Furthermore, he points out that not all students enjoy classical music and might prefer listening to their own playlists on personal devices. In his opinion, the plan could lead to more students using headphones to block out the classical music, which would counteract the intended goal of fostering social interaction.

The speaker's delivery is generally clear and fluid, with a consistent pace and only occasional pauses. However, there is room for improvement in terms of pronunciation and reducing unnecessary pauses. To enhance the delivery, the speaker should practice speaking more naturally and focus on accurate pronunciation of words.

4.Topic Development The response is coherent and well-organized, with clear connections between ideas and sufficient support or examples. However, the speaker could improve by providing more specific details from the listening passage to support their points. Additionally, the speaker should ensure that they fully address the question by stating the man's opinion more explicitly at the beginning of their response.

5.Language Use

The university plans to broadcast classical music during meal mealtimes, because they can believe it can help students to catch up with friends and can spend more time talking to each other. However, the man disagrees with this idea, because the first reason is that a lot of students don't want to relax during lunch time. Thus, during the meal time, they want to study while eating, especially before important exams or if students have some important assignments to deal with. And the second point is that a lot of students don't like classical music. So it's more likely that they will bring the mp3 players with them and play their own music to block out the classical stuff instead of actually unplugging their earphones and talking with each other.

("meal" was changed to "mealtimes" for consistency; "can" was changed to "believe it can" for a more natural-sounding sentence structure; removed the second "can" for better grammar.)

Revised Answer (140 words):

The university plans to broadcast classical music during mealtimes, believing it will help students catch up with friends and encourage them to spend more time conversing. However, the man disagrees with this plan for two main reasons. Firstly, many students prefer using lunchtime as an opportunity to study while eating, particularly when they have upcoming exams or important assignments. Introducing classical music may disrupt their concentration and hinder their productivity. Secondly, not all students enjoy classical music, which might lead them to use their mp3 players as a means of blocking out the background noise. This could result in even less interaction among students as they continue using their headphones, contrary to the university's intentions.
