Nowadays, the world is facing a number of pressing environmental problems, and over the next few weeks, we’ll be discussing various innovations that may help solve these problems. To begin our discussion, I’d like you to think of one global environmental problem—for example, it could be related to water, air, land, climate, biodiversity, energy, or something similar. Then explain what you think would be an effective solution to this problem.
Kelly
One of the major environmental problems is the limited freshwater supply in many areas of the world, which means that we need to find effective technologies to provide people with enough drinking water. One solution is to improve the technology for removing salt from seawater, which could allow us to use seawater to replenish dwindling freshwater supplies.
Paul
I think the biggest problem is the air pollution caused by the overuse of motorized vehicles. The obvious solution is for local governments to promote alternatives, like building bike lanes in cities or improving public transportation with electric buses. Both of these would be easy to implement as well.

From my point of view, the most urgent environment problem we need to solve is the climate problem. The rising temperture can not only affect the life quality of human beings bus also accelerate the distinction of animals, which will reduce the diversity of the eco-system that will affect the human beings eventrually. One way to solve the climate issue is to develop and use green and reusable energies such as wind, water or solar energies. For example, we can buy the electronic cars instead of traditional cars. In addition, we can develop the technology of reusing the materials such as metal. By doing so, we can reduce the production of unnessary things, emiting less greenhouse gases.

3. Task completeness
The essay effectively addresses the task by identifying climate change as the most urgent environmental problem and proposing solutions such as green energy and recycling. However, it could be improved by providing more specific examples or details to support the proposed solutions. Additionally, engaging with the ideas presented in the reading passage would strengthen the response.
Example 1: Instead of "For example, we can buy electronic cars instead of traditional cars," consider "For example, governments could provide incentives for citizens to purchase electric vehicles, reducing greenhouse gas emissions from transportation."
Example 2: Instead of "In addition, we can develop the technology of reusing materials such as metal," consider "In addition, promoting a circular economy where waste materials are repurposed or recycled can help reduce greenhouse gas emissions from manufacturing processes."
4. Essay structure and organization
The essay has a clear structure with an introduction, body, and conclusion. However, it could benefit from clearer transitions between ideas and paragraphs to improve overall organization.
Example 1: Instead of starting with "From my point of view," consider using a stronger opening statement like "Climate change is arguably the most pressing environmental issue facing our planet today."
Example 2: To improve transitions between ideas within a paragraph, consider using phrases like "Furthermore" or "In addition to." For instance: "Furthermore, by embracing renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power, we can significantly reduce our reliance on fossil fuels."

Section Title: Addressing Climate Change through Sustainable Solutions
In my opinion, the most pressing environmental issue we must address is climate change. The escalating global temperatures not only jeopardize human well-being but also hasten the extinction of various species, thereby diminishing the ecosystem's diversity and ultimately impacting humanity. To tackle this critical concern, we should prioritize the development and utilization of sustainable and renewable energy sources such as wind, hydro, and solar power. For instance, opting for electric vehicles over conventional ones can significantly reduce our carbon footprint. Furthermore, advancing technologies that enable material recycling, particularly metals, can help minimize unnecessary production and consequently decrease greenhouse gas emissions. By adopting these eco-friendly strategies, we can actively contribute to mitigating climate change and fostering a more sustainable future for all. (129 words)

In response to the discussion on solutions to environmental problems, I find myself resonating more with Paul's perspective that local governments should promote building bike lanes or improving public transportation with electric buses to reduce air pollution, rather than using technology for removing salt from seawater as suggested by Kelly.
To begin with, promoting eco-friendly transportation and travel behavior is easier to implement. Governments should employ more people who are adept at urban planning, as this method will cost less than desalination and be simpler to execute. For example, L.F. and Baoding are two cities in China; L.F. decided to arrange the city's lanes reasonably to diminish air pollution, whereas Baoding opted for desalination. Ultimately, L.F has successfully executed their plan for many years, reducing air pollution, while Baoding continues to work on removing salt from seawater.
Moreover, solely relying on desalination is insufficient. This method cannot solve the pollution problem entirely. For instance, a city located near the ocean may constantly consume water without considering conservation efforts. As a result, inhabitants there may eventually have no water to drink anymore, and the problem of water pollution remains severe.
In light of these arguments, I wholeheartedly support Paul's stance on addressing air pollution through sustainable transportation solutions rather than focusing solely on desalination technology. (219 words)

While I can understand Kelly's point that freshwater resources is very essential and advanced technology could release the pressure, I would like to choose Paul's opinion that air pollution is the biggest problem and add my ideas. With the increasing number of private cars, air pollution is more and more serious. As Paul mentioned, government should promote alternatives for citizens' transportation. More public transport, such as more shared bicycles, more convenient buses and subways could encourage people to reduce the use of private cars, and thus diminish air pollution from cars. Apart from this, I add that government should also restrict industry factories that create air pollutant, because they are usually the biggest problem to cause environmental problems. For example, relevant laws can be legitimated and corresponding institution should be established to supervise those factories. Otherwise, many factories would not do anything to minimize their pollution since they can save more money and make more profits.

Otherwise, many factories would not do anything to minimize their pollution since they can save more money and make more profits.
Title: 6 Article Revision
While I acknowledge Kelly's concern regarding the scarcity of freshwater resources and the potential role of advanced technology in alleviating this issue, I concur with Paul's assertion that air pollution is the most pressing environmental problem. I would like to expand on his ideas and propose additional solutions.
The escalating number of private vehicles has undoubtedly exacerbated air pollution. As Paul suggested, governments should promote alternative modes of transportation for their citizens. Enhancing public transport infrastructure, such as providing more shared bicycles, convenient buses, and efficient subway systems, could incentivize people to reduce their reliance on private cars, subsequently mitigating vehicular emissions.
In addition to these measures, I contend that governments must also impose stricter regulations on industrial factories that emit significant amounts of air pollutants. These establishments often contribute substantially to environmental degradation. To address this issue, relevant legislation should be enacted and dedicated institutions established to monitor and enforce compliance among these factories. Without such oversight, many companies may prioritize profit over environmental responsibility, neglecting to implement necessary pollution reduction measures. (177 words)

In my opinion, global warming is a serious environmental issue for us to cope with. And I think that there are at least two possible solutions for this problem. Firstly, the government can divert its resources on exploring environmentally friendly fuels. More specifically, because of the combustion of fossil fuels, a large quantity of gas that will cause global warming is emitted to the earth atmosphere, such as carbon dioxide. Therefore, by inviting scientists to carry out experiments in the lab and find some environmentally friendly sources of alternative fuels, the government can successfully hinder the trend of global warming. Besides, I think that it is feasible for the government to develop and promote public transportation. To explain it further, if the government can reduce the citizen's reliance on private automobiles, there will be less amount of harmful gas which may result in global warming. Take China, a representative country among thousands of others, for instance. China has spent a lot of money on building subways and buses of great convenience. Had it not been for the endeavor to develop public transportation, China would not tackle global warming with high efficiency.

In my view, global warming represents a critical environmental challenge that demands our attention and action. I believe there are at least two viable solutions to address this issue effectively.
Firstly, governments should allocate resources towards researching and developing environmentally friendly fuels. The combustion of fossil fuels releases significant amounts of greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide, which contribute to global warming. By encouraging scientists to conduct experiments and discover alternative, eco-friendly fuel sources, governments can help mitigate the effects of global warming.
Furthermore, I propose that governments focus on expanding and promoting public transportation systems. By reducing citizens' reliance on private automobiles, we can decrease the volume of harmful emissions that contribute to global warming. For example, China has invested heavily in constructing convenient subway systems and bus networks throughout the country. This commitment to public transportation development has enabled China to tackle global warming more efficiently than it would have otherwise been able to do. (160 words)

To explain it further, if the government can reduce the citizen's transportation" to "governments focus on expanding and promoting public transportation systems" for clarity). By reducing citizens' reliance on private automobiles, there will be less amount we can decrease the volume of harmful gas which may result in emissions that contribute to global warming. Take China, a representative country among thousands of others, for instance. For example, China has spent a lot of money on building subways and buses of great convenience. Had invested heavily in constructing convenient subway systems and bus networks throughout the country. This commitment to public transportation development has enabled China to tackle global warming more efficiently than it not would have otherwise been for the endeavor to develop public transportation, China would not tackle global warming with high efficiency.able to do (Rephrased the last sentence for better flow).
