Hot Breakfasts Eliminated Beginning next month, Dining Services will no longer serve hot breakfast foods at university dining halls. Instead, students will be offered a wide assortment of cold breakfast items in the morning. These cold breakfast foods, such as breads, fruit, and yogurt, are healthier than many of the hot breakfast items that we will stop serving, so health-conscious students should welcome this change. Students will benefit in another way as well, because limiting the breakfast selection to cold food items will save money and allow us to keep our meal plans affordable.
According to the proposal, the dining service would no longer serve hot breakfast. Instead, cold breakfast items would be offered. That could help students save money and keep the items affordable. However, in the conversation, the woman strongly disagrees with the suggestion. Firstly, she mentioned that it is not about the nutrition, whether a yogurt or a cereal. It is about that warmer food is better in cold weathers. That is obvious. Secondly, that could actually make things worse as students were going off campus and pay things with off campus prices. That means even a few mornings would add up the overall expenses. Students could actually spend more on their breakfast.
The response has minor grammatical errors, such as 'that could help' instead of 'this could help' and 'that means even a few mornings would add up the overall expenses' instead of 'this means that even a few mornings would add up to the overall expenses'.
Yes, the ideas are well-supported with specific reasons provided by the woman in the listening passage.
The transitions between ideas are generally clear but could be smoother. She argues that the issue isn't about whether cold foods like yogurt are healthier than hot foods like omelets or hot cereal. Instead, she believes that on cold mornings, warm food is more beneficial and comforting. She finds it obvious that a warm omelet would be better than a bowl of cold cereal in such weather. Additionally, she criticizes the claim that this change will save students money. She points out that if students can't get what they want on campus, they'll end up going off-campus to buy breakfast, which will be more expensive. Even if this happens just two or three times a week, the costs will add up quickly, making it more costly for students in the long run.
words": 136

https://lingoleapcdn-c4b3fvbvaxg2d4c5.z01.azurefd.net/audio/aeqnm3siiiGm.mp3?se=2024-11-13T03%3A33%3A17Z&sp=r&sv=2023-01-03&sr=b&sig=HDjcJeJk0/gSq8KkLLyERpm7nlDSfuU6fPYbM2oblNQ%3D
Preference or Opinion": {"Main Point": "Woman disagrees with the proposal to serve only cold breakfast items", "Supporting Examples": {"Example 1": "Warmer food is better in cold weather", "Example 2": "Students might spend more by going off-campus for breakfast
In my opinion, the nutritional value of breakfast is crucial, but warmer food is better in cold weather.
One sub-opinion is that hot breakfasts provide a sense of comfort and warmth, especially during the colder months. For instance, students might gather in the dining hall to enjoy a warm meal together before heading to their classes, promoting social interaction and building stronger connections.", "Lastly, providing hot breakfast options can support students' overall health and well-being.
