It is been common acknowledged that university offers both independent studies and in-person classes for some courses. But the decision about which way the students could select for their study of those courses heavily relies on the the students performance overall performance, which could be demonstrated by their GPAs. I definitely agree with the way that university students should be required to attend class. First, the reason I believe students should attend classes is because the professor/instructor designed the class in the way they believe how students could learn and practically use the knowledge they acquired in classes. Take some business courses for example, a lot university hire the teachers with experiences in business industries, which they often exercise their experience from their prior work in a lot different business scenarios but not just the textbook information. It appears to me that a student could learned better if he/she get lessons from a person who actually ran a business project before than those students study by themselves. If taking classes is an optional choice, it would be a neglect influence on students passion on study because they know they now have an easier way to get the score but not actually learned the knowledge. Second, the learning come with questions. In my opinion, taking classes seems a good way you could bring those questions up and do some brain storming with reasonable amount of time even if you’re not able to get an answer right away. For many studies, discussions are just as important as you do study on your own. Taking classes offers students a way to find different perspectives without paying extra money or benefits to others. In conclusion, I do agree with university students should taking classes instead of making it as an optional choice.
