Task Overview
Reading Passage
Method of Loci Special techniques, or memory devices, are often used to help us recall information. One technique, the method of loci (i.e., method of location), is particularly helpful for remembering several pieces of information in a particular order. To use this technique, we first imagine a familiar place such as a building or an outdoor area. This familiar place should have a series of landmarks or locations within it that we can imagine walking past in a predictable, logical order. Once the landmarks have been identified in a given order, we assign one piece of the information that we want to later recall to each location. The information should be assigned in the order in which we want to remember it. To later recall the new information in order, we imagine walking through the familiar place, recalling what is stored at each location along the way.

23. 3.Delivery
The speaker's delivery is generally clear and fluid, with a consistent pace and only occasional pauses. However, there are some minor issues with punctuation and pronunciation that could be improved. For example, the speaker should work on pronouncing "south" as "Sun" to avoid confusion. Additionally, the speaker should practice using appropriate pauses to make the speech sound more natural and easy to follow.
4.Topic Development The response is coherent and well-organized, with clear connections between ideas and sufficient support or examples. The speaker effectively uses the professor's example to explain how the method of loci is used to recall information in sequence. However, there is room for improvement in terms of providing more detailed explanations and examples. The speaker could also work on using more varied vocabulary and sentence structures to make the response more engaging and sophisticated.
5.Language UseOriginal: Method of Loci is helpful for remembering several pieces of information in particular order. So the professor demonstrates how this method helps students efficiently remember each planet's distance from south Sun (corrected "south" to "Sun" for accurate meaning) by using the distance from dormitory to school center. Firstly, when the students walk out of the dormitory, they will see the door, and this distance represents the closest planet to the south Sun (corrected "south" to "Sun" for accurate meaning), and this planet is Mercury. Second, they will see the tree, and this distance represents the Venus and the south Sun (corrected "south" to "Sun" for accurate meaning). And finally, they will see the statue in front of the library, and this distance represents the Earth and the south Sun (corrected "south" to "Sun" for accurate meaning). By using this method, students can imagine themselves walking to school building and efficiently remember the order of planets.
Revised (140 words): The Method of Loci is a valuable technique for memorizing multiple pieces of information in a specific sequence. The professor illustrates how this method enables students to effectively recall each planet's distance from the Sun by associating it with landmarks along their walk from their dormitory to the school center. Initially, as students exit their dormitory and see the door, they associate it with Mercury, the closest planet to the Sun. Next, they encounter a tree, which represents Venus and its distance from the Sun. Lastly, they pass by a statue in front of the library, symbolizing Earth and its position relative to the Sun. By utilizing this method, students can mentally retrace their steps along this familiar path and efficiently recall the order of planets in relation to their distance from the Sun.
