Texto de Leitura
Outsider Art Outsider Art is a term used to describe art that is made by people who choose to live and work outside society. The artists who produce this kind of art -- Outsider Artists -- work in isolation from other artists and have little or no formal artistic training. Because they do not learn conventional artistic techniques from teachers or other artists, Outsider Artists must invent their own ways of doing things. As a result of the unconventional methods that Outsider Artists often use, their work can look strange and not at all like traditional art to the observer.

Revised Answer (140 words):
According to the reading, outsider art refers to a type of art created by people who choose to live and work outside society. The professor uses Henry Darger as an example to illustrate this concept. Darger had no friends and lived in isolation, creating hundreds of unique paintings without any formal artistic training or influence from others. One of his paintings, for instance, features children from various sources, which he incorporated into his own imaginative landscape. This unconventional approach resulted in a highly detailed artwork that leaves no empty spaces. Darger's distinct style and self-taught techniques are what make him an Outsider Artist, as he developed his art outside the norms of traditional artistic practices and societal expectations.
