Aperçu de la Tâche

Doctor Gupta

This week, we’ll study an issue that is often debated by economists. There are many large industries that, while providing significant economic benefits, engage in practices that result in environmental harm. Some would argue that economic success should never come at the cost of damage to the environment. Do you agree with this view? Why or why not?

Paul

I can’t say I agree. Everyone talks about protecting natural resources, but what about protecting humans? Humans need the ability to work and provide for their families, and sometimes this means creating jobs through industries that might contribute to pollution. Those industries can just be monitored by environmental agencies. That’s a win-win solution.

Kelly

I see your point, Paul, but I don’t think there are many industries that are so essential for the economy that their impact on the environment can be ignored or merely “monitored.” Continual environmental damage will one day lead to the extinction of species that are essentials to agriculture. That will endanger our food chain.

From my perspective, I concur with Kelly's opinion that environmental protection overweigh economic development. I would like to add more different reasons to support it. First, the damages and harms that many large industries caused are hard to repair and improve. The fact is, these negative impacts are usually evitable and terrible. For instance, the process of global warming, had became faster and faster since the Industrial Revolution. And only thing we can do is not to stop it, but slow it. Additionally, the cost of repairing the environments and improve the surroundings are too high to imagine. So, the economic success can not offset the nagetive impacts it brought to the world. The large companies and the government should focus on build a environment-friendly society and creat true win-win situation.

这篇文章在任务完成方面做得相当不错,你明确表达了自己的观点,并对讨论作出了贡献。但是,为了更好地完成任务,建议你在以下方面进行改进:

  1. 在论证观点时,可以提供更具体的例子和数据支持;

  2. 注意语法和词汇的准确性,避免使用不清楚或不合适的表达。

示例1:你可以将 "the process of global warming, had became faster and faster since the Industrial Revolution" 改为 "the process of global warming has accelerated since the Industrial Revolution, leading to more frequent extreme weather events."

示例2:将 "the cost of repairing the environments and improve the surroundings are too high to imagine" 改为 "the cost of repairing the environment and improving our surroundings is often prohibitively expensive."

4. 文章结构与组织

文章整体结构清晰,包括引言、正文和结论。然而,在组织方面还有一些改进空间。建议你:

  1. 在段落之间使用更明确的过渡词或短语;

  2. 确保每个段落都集中讨论一个特定的观点,并提供相关细节支持。

示例1:在第一个观点后,可以加入过渡词 "Moreover",以便更自然地引入第二个观点。例如:"Moreover, the cost of repairing the environment and improving our surroundings is often prohibitively expensive."

示例2:在文章结尾部分,可以使用 "In conclusion" 或 "To sum up" 作为总结。例如:"In conclusion, large companies and governments should focus on building an environmentally friendly society and creating a true win-win situation."

Section Title: Balancing Economic Development and Environmental Protection

In my view, I align with Kelly's stance that prioritizing environmental protection is more crucial than economic development. To bolster this argument, I would like to present additional reasons. Firstly, the detrimental effects caused by numerous large industries are often irreversible and severe. Indeed, many of these negative consequences are avoidable yet disastrous. For example, global warming has accelerated since the Industrial Revolution, and our current efforts can only mitigate its progression rather than halt it entirely. Furthermore, the expenses associated with restoring damaged ecosystems and improving environmental conditions are astronomical. Consequently, economic success cannot justify the adverse impacts it inflicts upon our planet. Large corporations and governments should concentrate on fostering an eco-friendly society to establish a genuinely sustainable equilibrium between economic growth and environmental preservation. Exemple d'Utilisateur

I agree with this view. I think it is a good environment is more improtant than the success of the economy. The first reason is that it is crucial for human to ensure the sustainability of the entire race. If we pollute the environment too hard just for economic success for short run, we cannot maintain a stable success in the long run because all the resources will be ruined: The land will be polluted and the water will be contaminated. Some may argue that there might be no enough jobs for humans, but it is not the reason to pollute the environment. There are many other jobs that won't harm the environment but, in opposite, help the environment. For example, government can build zoos and there will be plenty of jobs opportunities there.

3. Task completeness

The essay addresses the professor's question and expresses an opinion, but it could benefit from more elaboration on the reasons for that opinion. Additionally, the essay could use more specific examples to support its points. The mention of zoos as an alternative job source is a good start, but it would be helpful to provide more context or examples of environmentally friendly industries.

Suggestions for improvement:

  • Provide more specific examples or details to support your viewpoint.

  • Elaborate on your reasons for choosing your opinion.

Examples in English:

  1. "Instead of relying on industries that cause pollution, we can invest in renewable energy sources like solar and wind power, which not only create jobs but also help protect the environment."
  2. "Governments can implement stricter regulations and penalties for industries that cause environmental harm, encouraging them to adopt cleaner technologies and practices."

4. Essay structure and organization

The essay has a clear structure with an introduction, body, and conclusion. However, it could benefit from better organization within the body paragraphs. Each paragraph should focus on a specific point with supporting details. Clear transitions between ideas and paragraphs should also be present.

Suggestions for improvement:

  • Focus each paragraph on a specific point with supporting details.

  • Use clear transitions between ideas and paragraphs.

Examples in English:

  1. "Firstly, prioritizing environmental protection ensures long-term sustainability for both humans and natural resources. For instance, preserving forests helps maintain clean air quality while also providing habitats for various species."
  2. "Moreover, by investing in environmentally friendly industries such as renewable energy or sustainable agriculture, we can create job opportunities without compromising our planet's health. This approach balances economic growth with environmental responsibility."

Title: 6 Revised Essay

I concur with the perspective that prioritizing environmental preservation over economic success is essential.

The primary rationale behind this stance is the necessity to ensure the long-term sustainability of our planet and the human race. Pursuing short-term economic gains at the expense of environmental health may lead to irreversible consequences, such as land pollution and water contamination. Ultimately, this approach would jeopardize our ability to maintain stable progress in the long run as resources become depleted.

While some may argue that prioritizing environmental protection could result in a lack of job opportunities, I believe alternative solutions exist that can simultaneously benefit both humans and the environment. For instance, governments can invest in eco-friendly industries or initiatives, such as establishing wildlife reserves or promoting renewable energy sources. These endeavors not only create numerous employment prospects but also contribute positively to environmental conservation. (145 words)

The debate surrounding whether there will be an economic success at the expense of environmental contamination is indeed complex, but in my opinion, the success will never come if our earth is polluted. Firstly, I concur with Kelly that we should restrict a large amount of industries who are doing harm to the environment. I'd add that the poisonous chemicals these industries probably release will not only affect the animals but also have bad influence on human. On the other hand, while Paul's relevant point seems convincing, he fails to mention that these actions will not benefit human based on the fact that polluted areas can not be brought back to their primary use.

Section Title: Balancing Economic Success and Environmental Protection

The intricate debate concerning economic success at the expense of environmental degradation is one that requires careful consideration. In my view, genuine prosperity cannot be achieved if our planet suffers from pollution. I agree with Kelly that industries causing significant harm to the environment should be regulated and limited. Furthermore, it is crucial to acknowledge that the toxic substances released by these industries not only impact wildlife but also have detrimental effects on human health. While Paul raises a valid concern about job creation and human welfare, he overlooks the long-term consequences of environmental damage. The irreversible nature of pollution in certain areas ultimately negates any perceived benefits for humanity, as it renders these regions unsuitable for their original purposes. (128 words)
