State-dependent Memory When learning something new. people are aware (consciously or unconsciously) of the environment in which their learning takes place. This learning environment includes the physical setting, the time of day, and even the people who are present during learning. Studies have shown that when people later need to remember information they have learned, their ability to do so is affected by their current environment. If the environment is the same or similar to the original learning environment, recall—the ability to remember—will be easier and more successful. Psychologists refer to this as state-dependent memory.

Revised answer (140 words):
State-dependent memory refers to the phenomenon where people's ability to recall information is influenced by their current environment. In the lecture, the professor provided an example. He had a group presentation in class, and the teacher asked his group members to memorize plant names. On the first day, they worked in class and could easily remember much information. However, in the evening, when he returned home and worked without his teammates, his brother was watching television nearby. It was quite noisy, making it difficult for him to recall information clearly. However, the next day, he was able to deliver a successful presentation, indicating that he could recall the information easily. This example demonstrates how state-dependent memory affects one's ability to remember information based on their environment.
