Task Overview
Reading Passage
University Should Allow Eating in Class Currently, there is a university-wide policy that prohibits eating in the classroom. I disagree with this policy. I think students should be allowed to eat in class. This change would be good for two reasons. For one thing, if students were permitted to eat, they would be able to concentrate better, because students often get hungry during long classes, and hunger makes it difficult to concentrate. Also, if food were allowed in classrooms, it would be possible for us to have in-class parties on the last day of class—with snack foods and beverages—to celebrate the end of each semester.
Question

5.语言使用Original: According to the newspaper, the university should allow students eating in classes. The newspaper suggests that the university should allow students to eat in classes. (建议使用更自然的表达方式) That is because students can be able to concentrate better without the effect of hunger, and because students can have in-crowd in-class (拼写错误) party on the last day of the semester to celebrate. However, the man in the conversation disagreed with this. Firstly, he thinks eating in classes will make other students distracted. That is because they will pay attention to the noises produced by the snack. Secondly, he believes that it is not appropriate to use the last classes to celebrate. It is important to use the classes to do the review. If the students use that class to hold a party, they will not have enough time for review, so they won't get well prepared for the exam. They may fail it. So that is the two reasons why the man disagreed with the proposal.
Revised (140 words): The newspaper suggests that the university should allow students to eat in classes, as it would help them concentrate better without hunger and enable in-class parties on the last day of each semester. However, the man disagrees for two reasons. First, he believes eating in class would distract others due to noise from snacks. Second, he thinks it's inappropriate to use valuable class time for celebrations instead of reviewing for exams. If students hold a party during their last class, they won't have enough time for review and might be unprepared for exams, potentially leading to failure. These are his reasons for opposing the proposal.
