Prestigious and experienced teachers are the most critical sector in elementary, secondary and higher education, strengthening the school’s reputation and bring much valuable resources in the past, while advanced laboratories, research project fund, cutting-edged technology and many other parts catch more attention. It seems that teachers nowadays are less respected than before. However, if we look at the bigger picture, the changes of teachers’ role do not mean they deserve less respect from the perspective of effectiveness, compatibility and culture. To begin with, there is no doubt that the focus of education has shifted from teaching to learning. Then the most effective method of learning is to invite and cultivate the students to develop critical thinking skills. As a result, many teachers step away from the outdated one-size-fits-all model and embrace the personalized learning ethos by helping students discover their own potential. The requirements and responsibilities of teachers are more than before actually, as it is a dynamic learning methods with lots of uncertainties and pressure not just the traditional blackboard and chalks learning. It seems that the sense of presence of teacher is weakened while it is throughout the whole teaching-learning process, helping the learning be more effective and attractive. Additionally, though getting education has been made easier in many ways thanks to computerization, the compatibility of human is always better than machines. Just taken giving grades as example, the robots and some online systems can only grade students’ work with set programs, neglecting the creativeness and imagination. However, the grade would be nonsense with the same value standards. Only involve the collection and evaluation of evidence on students’ achievement or performance over a specified period of time, can the grade reflect their progress or retrogress. Good grades act as the prerequisites for students’ future. Therefore, teachers can grade different students by various standards which is more compatible. Finally, the fast-paced society pushes everyone to run faster. Parents encourage pupils to search resources and learn by themselves online cause they believe this way is more convenient and modern. Nevertheless, this belief is so pale in comparison with the students’ interaction with teachers and their peers. Humanized is the core of education. A good teacher can create a energetic learning atmosphere that helps students become better critical thinkers, more ethical creators and engaged, well-informed citizens. Do not destroy our education and culture by looking down teachers. Showing more respect to teachers means introducing more meanings in education, since only teachers can approach multiple tasks and solve problems in novel, interesting ways.

In recent years, the role of teachers in the educational system has evolved, leading some to believe that they are less respected than before. However, when considering the broader context, it becomes apparent that changes in a teacher's role do not necessarily imply a decrease in respect. This essay will argue that teachers still deserve respect due to their effectiveness, adaptability, and cultural significance.
Firstly, it is undeniable that the emphasis in education has transitioned from a teacher-centered approach to a more student-centered one. This shift has led to the adoption of teaching methods that prioritize critical thinking and personalized learning experiences. As a result, many educators have moved away from traditional one-size-fits-all models and embraced innovative approaches that help students discover their potential. The responsibilities of teachers have expanded beyond merely imparting knowledge through lectures; they now play an active role in guiding students through dynamic learning processes filled with uncertainties and challenges. Although this may give the impression that a teacher's presence is diminished, their involvement throughout the entire teaching-learning process makes education more effective and engaging.
Moreover, while advancements in technology have made education more accessible, human teachers still offer a level of adaptability and understanding that machines cannot match. For instance, when it comes to grading students' work, automated systems and robots may only follow predetermined algorithms, failing to recognize the creativity and imagination displayed by students in their assignments. In contrast, teachers can evaluate different students using various criteria tailored to individual needs and progress. This personalized approach ensures that grades accurately reflect each student's development rather than adhering to rigid standards.
Furthermore, today's fast-paced society often encourages self-directed learning through online resources as it is perceived as more convenient and modern. However, this method lacks the personal touch that a teacher can provide in guiding a student's learning journey. The essence of education lies in its humanistic nature – fostering critical thinking skills, ethical behavior, and civic engagement. A skilled educator can create a vibrant learning environment that nurtures these qualities in students, preserving the cultural value of education. Disregarding the importance of teachers would be detrimental to this essential aspect of learning.
In conclusion, showing respect to teachers is crucial for maintaining the integrity and meaning of education. Teachers are irreplaceable in their ability to address multiple tasks and solve problems in novel, interesting ways. Despite the changing landscape of education, their role remains vital in ensuring that students receive a well-rounded, effective learning experience. Therefore, it is essential to continue valuing and respecting teachers for their significant contributions to society.
