Revised Answer (140 words): The reading passage states that Northfield College's student association has purchased a new sound system for Old Lincoln Hall in order to enhance the movie-watching experience for students on campus. However, the listening passage presents an opposing view, with the speaker arguing that this investment is a waste of money. The speaker points out that Old Lincoln Hall, a 200-year-old building that was once a gym, has poor acoustics, rendering the new sound system ineffective. Additionally, the speaker contends that students have alternative social activities available to them besides watching movies. These other options may be more appealing to students, leading them to choose activities other than movie-watching. In conclusion, the speaker believes that the student association's decision to purchase a new sound system for Old Lincoln Hall is misguided and will not yield the desired results.
