Task Overview
Reading Passage
In the earliest years of our university, large murals representing scenes of student life were painted on the walls of the gymnasium. These large paintings are very old and need repair. The colors have faded and the details are difficult to see. Because of their large size, it might cost a lot to have them professionally restored. I think it would make more financial sense for the university to remove the murals by covering them over with fresh, white paint. Additionally, the murals are old-fashioned and look out of place. They no longer fit in with the modern look of the gym or represent today's students.

修正后的回答:
The students suggest that the university should remove paintings of student life on the gymnasium walls. The woman in the conversation disagrees with this idea because, firstly, she believes that repairing the murals doesn't necessarily require a large amount of money, as the university can ask students to restore them. Moreover, there is a talented art department at the university with many skilled students. Secondly, she thinks that these murals are an essential part of the university's history. Therefore, even though they may not fit in with the modern look of the gym, they should be preserved.
修订版(140词):
The students propose that the university should remove large murals representing scenes of student life on the gymnasium walls due to their deteriorating condition and outdated appearance. However, the woman in the conversation disagrees with this plan for two main reasons. First, she argues that professional restoration isn't necessary since talented students from their well-regarded art department could undertake this project at a lower cost. This would involve cleaning and brightening up the murals with fresh colors. Second, she believes that these murals hold historical significance for the university and provide a unique glimpse into the past, which makes them valuable and worth preserving. Despite not fitting in with the gym's modern aesthetic, she contends that removing them would be a loss to the university's heritage.
