Personally, I do not think children should be prevented from video games. The reasons are as follows. First, children can actually benefit from playing games as they are able to increase their hands’ flexibility, reaction speed and their strategy skills in the process of having fun. Moreover, they can also lift their spirits and chill out by releasing their stress and sorrow from reality in the visual world. Therefore, engaging in gaming is beneficial to children’s mental and physical health. Second, it is better to control the playing time span than completely prohibiting students from it since ask children to quit games will only result in students’ rebellion, especially in their adolescence. On the contrary, limiting their playing time to less than two hours a day can not only make students more obedient to the decisions, but also forestall the bad consequence of game addiction. Hence, parents should give their children limited space to play games they enjoy in order to boost their health.
