I deem that the library is imperative even though few people read these days. The library could be used as a place to hold special events and activities. For example, yesterday, I watched an interview held by a famous Chinese host Chen Luyu. This event was related to Chinese literature and such kind of interview would be much fancier to be hosted in a library. Surrounded by a myriad of books and reference materials in the library, both the host and interviewees could feel the professional and solemn atmosphere of having an interview related to academic topics. Secondly, having the library continually running is not just about storing books, but also about having a place where people can enjoy a quiet place to study. For example, numerous students might choose to study in the library during their final exam periods because it would be much more convenient for them to search for information, but also they can immerse themselves in deep study without being annoyed by the noise and distraction. The wide availability of electrical reference materials can not completely replace the physical library. This is because lots of people tend to choose to read paper books in a library both for their physical health and for reading fun. staring at the screen too long would harm their physical health such as nearsightedness and neck pain. However, I can read paper books in the library for a whole day without any negative feelings. So, based on the points I mentioned, it is still necessary to have libraries to open.

Despite the decline in reading habits, I firmly believe that libraries remain essential in today's society. Libraries serve as multifunctional spaces that offer more than just books and reading materials, providing numerous benefits to the community.
Firstly, libraries often host special events and activities that cater to various interests. For instance, I recently attended an interview conducted by renowned Chinese host Chen Luyu, which focused on Chinese literature. Hosting such an event in a library, surrounded by countless books and reference materials, creates a professional and solemn atmosphere that enhances the experience for both the host and interviewees.
Secondly, libraries provide a quiet environment conducive to studying and research. Many students prefer studying in libraries during their final exam periods due to the convenience of accessing information and the ability to focus without distractions from noise or other disturbances.
Moreover, despite the increasing availability of electronic reference materials, physical libraries still hold significant value. Numerous individuals prefer reading paper books for various reasons, including health concerns related to prolonged screen exposure leading to issues such as nearsightedness and neck pain. Reading physical books in a library allows these individuals to enjoy their pastime without any adverse effects on their well-being.
In conclusion, libraries continue to play a vital role in our communities by offering versatile spaces for events, fostering an environment for learning and research, and preserving traditional reading experiences. Therefore, it is crucial for cities to maintain their libraries as they contribute significantly to the cultural and intellectual enrichment of society. (257 words)
