This week we will discuss issues faced by secondary school administrators. I'm referring to schools for teenage students. One such issue is students who change schools. Students change schools for many different reasons, the most common being a family move. On the discussion board, I want you to exchange ideas about what schools can do to make the transition to a new school easier for teenagers.
Student A
I think schools should assign new students a fellow student who can help them adjust. The "student buddy" can do things like make sure the new student can find the cafeteria or the right classrooms. For new students, it's a lot easier to ask a fellow student a question rather than ask a teacher or the principal.
Student B

In my opinion, facilitating a smooth transition for new students in secondary schools can be achieved by modifying certain aspects of the school's curriculum and schedule. This is crucial as students often come from diverse backgrounds and may have been exposed to different educational systems or approaches. By adapting the curriculum and schedule, schools can effectively enhance the learning experience for new students. For instance, when my friend Tim relocated due to work, his son had to change schools. Initially, Tim was concerned about his son's ability to adapt; however, the new school made adjustments to their curriculum in subjects like mathematics and history, which ultimately helped Tim's son acclimate seamlessly.
While assigning a "student buddy" to assist newcomers is undoubtedly beneficial, it is essential for schools to prioritize creating an inclusive learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of all students. By focusing on adapting curricula and schedules, schools can ensure that new students are better equipped to thrive academically and socially in their new surroundings. (171 words)
