Doctor Diaz
This week, we will be looking at how consumers feel about their purchases of technology. Many people find that buying devices such as mobile phones or personal computers can be very difficult. They feel like they’re not prepared to make the best decision to suit their needs. In your posts, I want you to discuss the following question: What do you believe is the biggest mistake that people make when buying tech products? Explain what this mistake is.
Claire
I think one problem is that people don’t match the product’s capabilities to their actual needs. My brother just got a new mobile phone, and he is very excited about how highly rated the camera is. But he hardly ever takes photos. So he paid for a feature that he doesn’t really need.
Paul
When people buy a new piece of hardware, like a laptop, they often don’t consider the software they are purchasing along with the hardware. If the software is not what you are used to or doesn’t work with your existing files, it can be frustrating to learn a new way of using your laptop.

Contrary to what Paul suggested, software is not the defining issue when it comes to technology. Now, many devices are capable of even switching operating systems, except for the very few. If the applications are not ideal, there is no difficulty in uninstalling them and downloading new ones. I think that the real problem is consumers lack insight into the product, causing frustration as to if it fits his or her expectation, or if the product is not what they actually needed. For example, one of my classmates bought a computer to use at school, only to find out that it is built for gaming.

Provide additional examples or details to support your viewpoint.
Examples in English:
- "Consumers often lack insight into products due to misleading advertisements or insufficient research, leading them to purchase devices that do not meet their needs."
- "Another example is when someone buys a high-end tablet for simple tasks like browsing the internet, unaware that a more affordable option would have sufficed."
4. Essay structure and organization
The essay has a clear structure with an introduction, body, and conclusion. However, it could benefit from better organization within paragraphs and clearer transitions between ideas.
Suggestions for improvement:

Examples in English:
- "Firstly, consumers often lack insight into products due to factors such as misleading advertisements or insufficient research."

In response to Doctor Diaz's question, I believe the most significant mistake people make when purchasing tech products is not thoroughly understanding the product's features and how they align with their specific needs. While Paul mentioned software as a potential issue, it is worth noting that most devices nowadays can switch operating systems or applications with relative ease. The primary concern lies in consumers' inability to accurately assess whether a product meets their expectations or serves their intended purpose. For instance, a classmate of mine purchased a computer for school use, only to discover that it was designed primarily for gaming. This lack of insight into the product's capabilities and suitability for individual requirements often leads to dissatisfaction and frustration among consumers. (127 words)
