Group projects are an essential part of everyday life in school. Here comes t question: Is it better to work independently, separating the quest equaly* different parts, with each member responsible to his or her own part on, ors! better to collaborate in every step of the process? What is your take?
Student A
Smith:I prefer to work independently while doing a group project as I am concerned about the possible occurrence of free-riding if students choose to collaborate in the whole process. After all, not everyone is responsible in his or her own part, it is highly possible for the "free rider" to simply rely on the efforts of other people without contribuling to the team. Unless extra mechanism can be arranged to prevent free- riding from happening (for example, teachers can let team members grade each other's contribution to the team), otherwise, I could not trust the achievements done by collaboration between students while doing a group project.
Student B
Zoe: I see your point, Smith, but I prefer to work collaboratively when doing a group project. My experience serves as a precise example. When i was in junior high school, two of my classmates and I were assigned to deliver a survey regarding students' opinion towards the cafeteria renovation program. We drew the initial plan together, decided the exact method of surveving students together, processed the data together, and wrote the report together. Even if there was a disagreement among us, we expressed our idea, tried to reach a compromise, and learned from each other in the process. In the end, we delivered an eminent presentation in front of the class, receiving applauses and an "A +". This is one of the best experiences in my life. and I benefit from it even until now.

There’s no denying that collaborate in every step of the process can link better with others and create a good memory than working separately. However, if we look at issue from a different perspective, getting a satisfactory grade and high efficiency are more important than having a good experience while doing the work for me. In my perspective, separating the quest equally into different parts and let every member do their own work will be much more efficient than working together because it can avoid disagreement conflict. Take myself as an example, I once worked in a group project and the group members started arguing because of a disagreement. It end up as we are the last group to finish and we got an terrible grade. In addition, if everyone focus on their own duty, they can be more concentrated which will improve the quality of their work. On the other hand, while working together, you may have to help others to improve or complete their work which will delay your own progress. In short, I personally think that working separately can improve the quality of the project and better achieve high efficiency.

Title: 6
While collaboration in every step of a group project can foster stronger connections and create lasting memories, I believe that prioritizing efficiency and satisfactory outcomes is more crucial in an academic setting. In my opinion, dividing tasks equally among group members and allowing each individual to focus on their respective responsibilities is a more effective approach.
By allocating tasks to each member, the likelihood of conflicts arising from disagreements is minimized. For instance, I recall participating in a group project where differing opinions led to heated arguments among team members. Consequently, we were the last group to complete the assignment and received a disappointing grade.
Moreover, when individuals concentrate on their assigned duties, they can devote their full attention to producing high-quality work. In contrast, working collaboratively may require team members to assist others in improving or completing their tasks, which could hinder one's own progress.
In summary, I firmly believe that assigning separate responsibilities within a group project can enhance the overall quality of the work and promote greater efficiency. (174 words)
