Dr. Diaz
This week, we discussed the importance of rolemodels and opinion makers in society. One idea we discussed was the widespread impact of "influencers." Influencers are people who are very active posting on social media and who have many followers.Influencers' posts and opinions can influence their followers' choices on everything from fashion to politics. In your opinion, do social media influencers generally have a positive or negative effect on their followers? Why do vou think so?
Student A
I think the influencers' effect is generally positive. People can learn about the latest trends and topics in a very quick and efficient way by following influencers. In the past, people had to spend time looking through magazines or visiting boutiques to even know what was trending.
Student B
I think influencers generally have a negative effect because they have far too much influence. I can think of one influencel who only has to mention a particular kind of sports shoe, and the next day they'll be sold out. The followers aren't really thinking for themselves; they're just blindly following the influencers' choices.
User Samples & Evaluation Results
User Sample
In the debate of whether influencers will influence their followers in a positive or negative way, I reckon that it depends on the followers themselves. On the one hand, it is the diversed approached that people have to information nowadays, and convenient and efficient searching engines, such as Google and Bing, that empower information-gathering, that make people still feel confused when making decision or proposing their own ideas. For instance, if you are a fan of both Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj, and Taylor is sharing her love to Dior's makeup products while Nicki is showing her perferance to Fenty Beauty, you will be perplexed about which one is more popular. On the other hand, if a follower is proactive and has a deep understanding of what he really need and desire, then this person will not be blindly influenced by the KOLs, otherwise this person will be misled. Therefore, I concur that it is the followers themselves that decide whether the impact will be positive or negative.

Section Title: The Impact of Influencers on Followers
In the debate concerning the positive or negative influence of social media influencers on their followers, I believe that the impact largely depends on the followers themselves. On one hand, people have access to diverse information sources and efficient search engines like Google and Bing, which can sometimes lead to confusion when making decisions or forming opinions. For example, if a person is a fan of both Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj, and each celebrity endorses different makeup brands, it can be challenging to determine which one is more popular. On the other hand, if a follower is proactive and has a clear understanding of their own needs and desires, they are less likely to be blindly influenced by key opinion leaders (KOLs) and instead make informed choices. Consequently, I contend that it is ultimately up to the followers themselves to determine whether an influencer's impact will be positive or negative. (159 words)
